    So 4.76% discount

    • +50

And the "discount" comes in the form of a promotional credit and can only be used on items sold and delivered by Amazon AU. Not a deal imo

      • +25

        Agree.

If it was $10 credit on $100 gift cards, I may consider it.

        • +4

If it was $10 on $50 they might get me to buy

          • -3

@silenthillrocks: It has to be $10 for $10 for me to jump on. Cashback websites can give us profits, why not Amazon?

      • The whole "sold and delivered by Amazon AU" thing is way more of a pain than I realised when I got credit buying a meta Quest VR headset. The 3 month expiry limit is up in a few days and they make it really hard to search for only those eligible items. I think I'm going to have to resort to buying toilet paper.

Also, you can't even tell how much credit you have left until you go to buy something. It is really clear that they are pushing for much of people's credit to not get used.

        Rant over….

    • +6

Agreed nothing to get excited about, especially if have to spend $200

      • +3

Fully agree; I wonder why 150+ readers feel it's so great?

        • +12

If you buy on Amazon regularly it's a pretty good deal. If you don't and you're forcing yourself to use a platform because you now have credit then it's not such a good deal

        • +1

People on this website always froth over the smallest Amazon discounts. It's crazy.

    • slightly better than bank saving interest rate.

    • You can always get 2% off gift cards somewhere so I see it as a 2.76% discount.

Am I missing something? Why did you get 4 downvotes for thanking OP…?

      • -1

You don’t find the Red Wiggle annoying?! What a pompous little shit…

        • -1

          "little shit…"
          192cm is not little
          .

      • +1

I’m seeing 10 currently… users seem to really hate this guy

      • +2

        This made no sense.

        • -2

Thanks would have been enough. I’m sick of all the “perfect timing” posturing — every damn time

      • +4

        Mob mentality.

        • We need an OzBargain flash mob

  • hmm.. i get 'this code can not be applied to this purchase'

    • me 2

    • +1

Just tried and when I added $200 gift card to cart, used Code AMZNGC I receive the following message in the order summary:
      Qualifying offers:
      GC promotion

      Seems to be working.

      • tried again still getting "The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase."

        • Make sure to add a $200 Amazon gift card to cart. Otherwise I'm not sure why you are getting an error with the code. Just received email confirmation of the bonus:
Thanks for purchasing $200 or more of Amazon.com.au Gift Cards. In accordance with the promotional terms, we have now automatically applied a $10 promotional credit to your account which will automatically be applied to your next purchase of eligible item(s) shipped and sold by Amazon AU.

    • +5

You must have entered the code twice thinking it didn’t go thru the first time bec it just disappeared

      • +3

Yeah second this with these Amazon codes if you have already entered it then if you try to apply the same code again it always gives an error message.

        • wow…how stupid then. The code is marked as used once you enter it into field, and not at point of actually completing the order.

Worked with coles vanilla visa card 🤟

    • why wouldn’t it?

      • Didn't for me earlier, tried several times and kept getting this error page after selecting the card as the payment method (while my main card had no issues). Worked fine just now though.

    • +1

Amazon works with basically all visa gift cards, I use them for all my low balance ones

  • +10

    HODL till 10%.🙃

  • +4

shopback 3 for 30 is much better.

    • -1

      Hey small spender

      • +5

        Judgemental much lately?

        • +1

It’s a fair criticism. However, in my defence, I think I have been consistently judgemental

    • -1

      10 > 3

  • code doesn't work for me

  • code doesn't work for me

  • Not working for me either

  • +3

A generous eight months to use the $10 credit. Eight weeks would be more than enough, and eight days would be pretty acceptable, too. Eight hours is fine with me, but, in truth, eight minutes would be sufficient

  • Good deal. But $10 is applied after you spend something on Amazon

And also expires end of December.
Wondering if the $10 gets used up first when I have $2000 account credit on Amazon ??

I constantly buy Amazon gift card and load it into the account. Always have $500+ . So how do I know the promo credit gets used or not ?

    • +1

Promo credit will get used first

    • +3

Promo credit is separate from your gift card balance.

It will appear at checkout and automatically apply if your stuff is eligible (sold by Amazon), you can also untick it if you don't want to use it yet.

      • +2

Just to add, unticking is good for things you might need to return, because you won’t get the credit back, and for cashback deals which exclude the use of promo credit.

  • +3

I prefer a 5% discount without a min spend.. just sayin

  • So this is ebay plus with a $200 entry fee, Ozb is easily impressed

  • +3

    Purchase confirmation email 00:48
    Received gift card 00:53
Still waiting for benefit confirmation email…

Edit: benefit confirmation email received on 1:04

  • Cheers TA! 🍻

  • +4

    I would rather have 3 for 30 or 5 for 50 than spend 200 for 10.

    • Depends. $10 bonus is more for a $200 transaction than $8 for a $200 item in your examples above. Or just get all 3, if your spending habit on Amazon is like mine.

However, I already have thousands of dollars worth of GC balance on Amazon so sitting this one out.

  • +3

Less than 5% discount? I see better days!

  • -3

    Too easy, thanks OP.

  • Is the code fully redeemed? I am getting error message "The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase."

    Edit: Worked now

  • I wish they would say the truth. Not 1st 1000 Its Unlimited .

1K would be long gone after 8 hrs .

  • +5

    Pass..

  • +1

    What's next $10 for $500? $1000?

    • +1

      I normally get $4 per $100 everyday . So $2 extra for a $200 purchase isn't that exciting lol .

  • -2

Not worth it. You get mostly this via using shopback in cashback.

    • -1

mostly everything you buy doesn't earn cashback

      • Yeah think they discontinued amz cashback on almost everything?

  • +1

Why buy? Put money in your offset, you save more interest from mortgage.

    • +1

i spend about $200-400 a month on amazon so I can get that 4% back in a month, as opposed to a year in the offset.

  • +1

    That's a lot of Cocobella.

  • OOS?
The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase.

    • +2

I think you get that prompt if you try adding it a 2nd time.
The first time you enter in the code, you don't get a confirmation or notification per se

  • For those using pre paid Visa, do you simply add a new payment card and use that? Tryong to add a new payment card is currently looping back to the start for me sigh

  • Purchase confirmation email 10:24am
    Received gift card 10:29am
Benefit confirmation email received on 10:30am

  • surprised this is still active

  • Same here. Its still alive

    • Just tried and no longer working

  • Thanks TA.
I'm happy to get a $10 Amazon GC.
Worked Perfectly and email sent (within 10mins) from Amazon confirming $10 Amazon GC.
    ALL GOOD :)

  • -2

Where's the link to a $200 amazon gift card?

  • Code no longer working it seems

  • -1

    Not expired! lol

Still good as of 7:30pm QLD time

  • +1

"The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase"

  • Thanks op!

  • Still works, if you put the code in twice it will come up with an error
