  • Should really put "+ delivery" as well. Only 2 of the 20 stores in a 30ishkm radius had in stock for click and collect. Deal killer for me, cheaper to go a get a more expensive mat that's closer.

Online only; that's what I should've put and forgot. Fixed.

      Plenty in the Sunshine Coast.

Sorry to hear it. You can still pick up that one on eBay I mentioned in the post for just $1.35 more (delivered).

Tbf, I don't really understand this OzB standard of writing "+ delivery ($0 C&C / In store/ Prime / Premium / VIP / OnePass / etc / etc)" on every post… Isn't that redundant? Charging delivery is the norm, as is not paying to pick it up ourselves. The exception to the norm is "free" shipping, i.e. "product $price delivered @ store."

I'm sure a "better" or more experienced Ozbargainer can explain this better but I'll give it shot.

Tbf the norm on Ozb is putting the entire price you will pay for the product and delivery is apart of that. It takes 2 seconds to put into the title however it could take someone (or multiple people) longer to see that delivery is extra.

"$0 C&C / In store/ Prime / Premium / VIP / OnePass / etc / etc)" this should also tell you that it's not redundant as there are so many options and variances. You haven't even touched on free delivery with a code or minimum spend or with prime but also a minimum spend etc etc.

TLDR: It takes very little effort from a poster and collectively saves a lot of people a lot of time.

Yeah, sure, it's no work at all to add it in; it just makes post titles lengthy and less legible. The work is in scanning the posts with so much clutter added in.

Exactly. It's a bunch of unnecessary complexity added to post titles, when in reality everyone knows that C&C is generally free of charge (I remember a while ago stores were charging C&C, but that was ridiculous, as it basically saves the stores money, and seems now to be an idiosyncrasy of the past), that stores have delivery subscription services (Prime/Premium/OnePass/etc/etc), and that some stores waive delivery fees above certain min spend. Besides, "+ delivery" does nothing to put "the entire price you will pay for the product;" it's just a word (or unspecified variable). OTOH, if the norm is to pay for delivery — so much so that delivery subscription services do exist and have become pretty much ubiquitous — people already expect it, and that it varies by address, whereas "free," i.e. included, delivery is the exception to the rule.

        Titles should state:-

        • Shipping cost. Exact cost if known or approximate range.

Perhaps one day the delivery price will move from the title to a dedicated info box spelling out the cost and conditions.

        • Exact cost if known

          Exactly. Thanks, @alvian.

Btw happy with your title too!

Thanks op. I go through heaps of these.

So Kmart always has them this price with free delivery with onepass, but they are also always boring colours. Currently grey https://www.kmart.com.au/product/yoga-mat-42189695/

I dont suppose anyone knows of a plastic free alternative? Everything antislip seems to be plastic.

Good to know! Should've compared to the competition, but didn't. Any difference in quality between Kmart's Anko home brand and Michelle Bridges' facypants PVC sheet?

I'm pretty sure Yengar and Phatabbi Jois didn't practice yoga on PVC. How about a straw runner?

I just bought a cork mat from here https://anjaligeneration.com.au/products/cork-deluxe just tested it out today and as a super sweaty bloke, the sweat actually made the cork more grippy. Way more than any cheap plastic one has ever been.

There's also a jute one which is really grippy if you're not the sweaty kind. My instructor uses that one and she loves it.
