Ray-Ban RB2184 Black Polarised Sunglasses $153.00 (RRP $306.00) Delivered @ MYER

Was in the market for some sunnies and these were the best for my head when trying them on. Luckily the store I was at didn't have any in stock which prompted me to find this deal at MYER.

Unreasonably overpriced. I recommend Knockarounds - best thru US store when they have sales and free shipping. Great quality polarised sunnies that have lasted me several years.

They look ugly and don't have the ray bans logo

    • Hey thanks bro, googled and grabbed a pair from the US for like $45USD delivered.

Same old story, comparing apples to oranges.

      • these raybans have crystal glass lenses and people are going to compare to cheap plastic lenses …..

    • Sure there are plenty of other brand that may be cheap, better or on-par. But this is a good deal if you are after the Ray Bans brand

I had a look and this Knockarounds brand doesn't appal to me.

    • I'm curious to look at Knockarounds, thanks for the heads up. And I completely agree that these (Ray-Ban) are overpriced. I would be surprised if anyone on OzBargain doesn't know, but just google Luxottica if you need more information as to why you should look elsewhere. I personally have bought a couple polarized sunnies through the Cancer Council website over the years.

        Username doesn't check out.

      • yeah, these raybans have their crystal glass lenses , much more expensive to make than plastic lenses …. these is a reason telescope and microscopes and camera lenses are glass ….optical clarity, and the reason you don’t buy a phone with plastic screen is it scratches easily ….. happy for people to compare to other brands with glass lenses if they can get cheaper but not plastic lenses …

If you're with CBA check your rewards. I have $10 cashback with $100 spend at Myer

Quality of Ray Bans have dropped and pretty much same with any Luxottica owned brands, so something to be cautious about. I stopped buying years ago. I've now got pairs from Cancer Council, Local Supply and Le Specs. They're a lot more affordable and have held up.

Not saying to buy from Luxottica.. but Cancer Council sunnies are also made by Luxottica

      • +1

I've gone through 6 cancer council pairs and they are such trash

    • The best sunnies IMO are Maui Jim. Although I am after a pair of Ray Ban wayfarer's if the sale is good enough. I like the look.

I have Ray Bans on right now - $90ish

      • mail jim glass lenses are great …..own 2 pairs but never on special as they aren’t luxotica so sunglasses hut doesn’t discount. maui jim are also very affordable with replacement lenses if you break them

        • Where do you get replacement lenses from please?

Ray bans are good if you hate money I guess. I like them as sunnies but for $50-80 you can get the style and look 95% as good. Wouldn't pay an extra $100 for that final 5% of style. Just google wayfarer style sunglasses.

They bumped the price, it even show the previous price ($244) while loading the page…

    • Shows $153 for me

      • +1

$153 is the reduced price, next to it is rrp. The rrp has been increased

    • thanks, I thought I saw that initially but couldn't reproduce it. Changed title to reflect $306 as RRP as it is everywhere else.

  • Bought gold ray bans i didnt need thanks

Carve sunglasses on sale on Ebay. They seem pretty good for the price. Came in a nice pouch and quality seems quite good.

I ordered these and they are coming by DHL express from China? What the hell.

Had no idea they did dropshipping… Never again.

    • Yeah I have just noticed this myself. I will be contacting them. Clearance Sale my ass…

e: apparently they outsource and for sunglasses, they use sunglasses hut who ship from china. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/744678
