Saw an email from Amazon for the 'Big Smile Sale' which included this and other PRISM+ monitors

I know nothing about these monitors, never heard of them before. Have found very little information and reviews about them online, though the ones I did find seemed positive, aside from one nasty one I found on the PRISM+ store page - https://www.amazon.com.au/sp?ie=UTF8&seller=A17Z6OYDMF2V9K&a…

Apparently it is VA - https://soyacincau.com/2021/09/20/prism-x240-review-putting-…

Apparently PRISM have ICC Profiles on their website too - https://prism-plus-au.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/90000464…

The third page of Google found this for me - https://old.reddit.com/r/bapcsalesaustralia/comments/mf9p8b/…
Few folks in there not too happy. I'm on the fence about this one myself since I could drop an additional $20ish and get an AOC monitor as recommended from https://pcmonitors.info/recommendations/gaming-monitors/

Thanks for the title fix RichardL :)

The only thing I know is the advertisement on Instagram is incessant…

Also completely idiotic. The instagram vid had the person setting up the monitor in front of a dual-monitor mount setup (now empty). Totally silly

  • Needed a second monitor for work, so picked up the 27" 4k for $319

    https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B0BC66DB1T/

    • Looks really good for the price and specs, any chance it has usbc charger for laptops?

      • I am guessing it is not a docking monitor. I run an external hub, so don't really need that.

I saw while I was looking around, mwave did have this one for $399 last week. So might go on sale again

        https://www.mwave.com.au/product/phillips-279p1-27-4k-uhd-ip…

        • Thanks ill keep an eye out for that monitor, need it for work (i don't have a dock) so saves a charging power point and hdmi cable if the monitor supports the feature

  • While the brand is reasonably known in the US, these prices aren't worth it for these entry level products.

    • Can you recommend another 24" FHD IPS 165hz adaptive sync monitor to me? I am in need of one

        Gigabyte G24F or MSI G244F, ideally sub-$200.

  • Back in the day Prism were well regarded for their true to life colours and commanded a high price. They were the goto for photographers and even now it comes with a color calibration certificate. Not sure where they sit now given the increase in brands and choices.

  • I have one of the X300's i got on "sale" it was the same price for the next year, always on "Sale"
The VERSA mount is absolute junk too, there is one mounting screw where the standard mount is that two plates screw on, it doesn't sit nice and it's then held on with 1 x 4mm screw into cast alloy. janky as.

It's an OK monitor, it's now my spare beside a Samsung Odyssey.
