        • @JHoliday Your comment comes true here

          Now its capped at $20
          And max 1 transaction
And that too only 54.2 % max Cashback

      • Can't speak for Pizza Hut or their staff on this, but I've let our team know of the troubles that some users have had in store to cascade to PH for feedback.

        • thats good to hear, thanks GYB

        • I ordered Magnums and they had none - It's 2023 - they should have inventory connected to their website

        • Is that one factor of why it is capped this time?
          And not 100% either ?

          • @USER DC: Nah mate, can't have 100% every time, PH and SB will go bankrupt haha. We always bring the biggest rate we can feasibly bring, this wasn't affected by the last promo and is just the typical fluctuations in rates.

  • Also confirming you will get the run around if you call up customer service re. refund. If anyone has been successful here, please let me know.

    • I was able to get a refund one time a while ago, when I ordered from Pizza Hut (a 100% CB deal) when the cashback didn't track from SB.

I think I called store to cancel the future order, and refund it, they said they cannot refund by themselves and I need to come to store to claim refund. I put the card on machine and refund went on that card.

    • Can confirm the runaround, they were adamant they didn't charge me and I was telling them it's literally on my cc statement. 'no it's impossible our system doesn't work like that', I just gave up and submitted a PayPal dispute and it got approved.

      • Should leave it for a couple of days to see if the transaction drops off

        • It wasnt pending, it was a charge on my statement, I called them over a week later

Did anyone pick up their order today and found out it was made an hour earlier due to daylight savings ending (for those in NSW/VIC/TAS/SA)?

I had an order for pickup at 5.30pm today but was told it was for 4.30pm. So the food was sitting there in the warmer for an hr. Not fresh but I ain’t complaining. Still tasted ok

    • I actually like my day old cold pizza. My wife thinks I'm weird but it actually tastes really nice when taken straight from the fridge.

I picked up a mushroom Alfredo pasta this evening….
I had left overs from Friday and Saturday night, so asked if they come frozen, there for it to remain frozen. I figured keep in freezer and take to work for an easy dinner or lunch another day, I work shift work.
Curious, I opened the box, it's just an open foil tray frozen spiral pasta and a little squirt sauce on top.
    Instructions on box inform to
    "Thaw this side up.
Preparation instructions: before cooking, defrost thoroughly at 1-5⁰C. Keep refrigerated. Use within 5 days of removal from freezer."
They obviously add handful cheese on top, before it goes into the oven…and either add chicken on top, if you want chicken alfredo, or mushrooms, if you wanted the mushroom alfredo.
I just got plain pasta and sauce.
    I'm not even mad.

I get wanting to get as much of a good deal as possible, but reading some of the extreme orders on here, its just going to make this kind of deal never come up again and basically hurt everyone else who would want to use it again for multiple orders but within a reasonable amount. Pizza hut or the cashback company will just not do a deal if it gets completely abused.

    • +1

It's going to be an interesting watch, that's for sure.

    • The flip side to that is the number counters at whichever company looking at the increased sales from the promotion and judging it purely on that.

Never forget that a lot of promotions are created purely to test/increase one specific metric and the company may only look at that one single metric and disregard everything else. Never forget that sales and marketing are extremely narrow focus pursuits.

    • +1

Do you know how much advertising/marketing costs vs the sales it brings in? It's a very inefficient way of spending money.

Giving free products is actually one of the most efficient. It directly translates to sales, people will likely go over the threshold by a bit and it cost them nothing to advertise as that was handled by another agency. In addition, it gives people a chance to try various parts of the menu they would not otherwise and good experiences will make return customers.

      • It's actually true. I give free stuff on my marketplace orders and sales skyrocket

      • +3

Yes give free stuff where each person gets 1 item and in exchange they give out their details and get repeat business. Thats like voucher deals and coupon deals etc. I never said giving away free stuff is bad, I said people who ABUSE it to the point where it is not worthwhile to the company to keep doing it. As i wrote in my post getting it a few times wouldnt bother them. But there are people who are doing 30-70 orders , and that means all are probably less than 10$ and hence NO amount of extra money goes back to the company. I am sorry i do not believe this is at all useful for the company , any company will find this is costing them far more than the rewards they get out of it.

        • I wonder if anyone needed a new chest freezer ?

        • One of my orders was a meal deal for $9.95 that included a small pizza, 1/2 garlic bread (literally 4 pieces) and can of drink. That would cost maybe $2 (don't include fixed costs such as electricity and wages - they'd be present whether or not I ordered).

Now in return for that $2 they get $9 in revenue and another sale to add to their charts, stockholders are happy when report gets released.

i do not believe this is at all useful for the company

Well when you have a highly successful multinational company you can choose not to run something like this. It's hard to explain this to someone without any knowledge of marketing, but there's a lot more to value than money. Even if we're not talking about Pizza Hut, they've taken away potential sales from their competitors.

who ABUSE it to the point where it is not worthwhile to the company
But there are people who are doing 30-70 orders ,

Ignoring the fact you sound like the Daily Mail lol, Pizza Hut doesn't care, it's got its numbers. The franchisees might because they're now having to do all these extra orders and they can cancel if they're too busy (why I ordered out of peak times, many orders can be very stressful).
There are also people doing 1 order or spending more than $10. Likely people who got the times wrong and paid full price. Besides 30 orders is not $300 they lost because the 30 orders don't cost anywhere near $300.

It sounds a lot like you're just giving a "holier than thou" speech without any action rational logic. It was a resounding success for Pizza Hut.

          • @pennypincher98: No worries mate, when you gotta attack the person, it says alot about what you actually think of your own argument. Considering there are pizza huts complaining to customers or cancelling orders. It doesnt sound like they think it was a success either.
No matter what people think, ALL businesses have a limit to what they can give away for free for marketing, Look at how many freebie bargains etc end up being cancelled or ending early etc for being bombarded. Its all about reasonable use, The money they lose compared to the clientele they get and business they drum up.

            • @lonewolf:

when you gotta attack the person, it says alot about what you actually think of your own argument

Yeah I say what I actually think, it's hard to convey complex points to someone who doesn't have any background in it and who's entire argument is "oh no we made big corporate angwy :c"

Considering there are pizza huts complaining to customers or cancelling orders. It doesnt sound like they think it was a success either.

Saying things like this that I just addressed means you either didn't read it or didn't have the capacity to comprehend.

That wasn't attacking you, that was just the truth. I invited you to add some merit but you couldn't do that. This is no longer worth my time.

  • My local Pizza Hut called me advising about the daylight savings and that all orders of mine are pushed back 1 hour automatically. However they were happy to move it back to the original time. I was also able to move some orders around.

    If this helps anyone

  • Props to my local PH at South Lake 6164. No attitude at all at my 10 + 13 orders on different days. Although the profit margin from the 4 cokes I ordered at $20 probably made up for the cost of all the separate orders lol

Orders starting to get approve yayyyg

    • +1

      Same.

      I got my 2 x cashbacks approved today ^_^

  • My 5x CBs got approved. Thanks OP

Grrrr, just unsubscribed to this thread as I got excited every time I saw the topic when someone posted to here. The bitter disappointment of not 100% cashback on Pizza is too much for my fatty heart. :-)

  • Have anyone still have their cashback pending? Emailed Shopback, but no response.

    • Hey hey, sorry to hear of the delay, it looks like some are facing some late approvals from Pizza Hut as a few have come through over the last few days. Shoot me a message if you still haven't received them come next week and I can take a look over this for you.

      • Will do, thanks! Majority approved, but a couple still pending and those are the ones not receiving order emails from Pizza Hut.

  • A transaction done within the Shopback App, using its inbuilt web browser, paid with PayPal, and still didn't track. No issues, that happens.
But - I disputed it after few days which was in pending status till yesterday, and now that is rejected. This is wrong.

Very inefficient app, and even worst Shopback team who can't verify the transaction made within their own app.

    • Can't send a direct message to you @gotyourback.
Unable to send message: Overseas user

      ??

    • Hey there mate, sorry to hear of your trouble here, the tracking process has a few moving parts so can be complicated should tracking fail - ShopBack needs to track the click-through, and the store needs to attribute the purchase to ShopBack as well, so do note that the decision to reject doesn't always come from ShopBack. We are, however, always happy to go back to Pizza Hut or any merchant and check in with why tracking might have failed and try to get this rectified, and can escalate when the claims are rejected.

I'm unsure why OzB won't let you message me, It's an AU account and we're based in Sydney so unsure what's gone wrong there, unfortunately I can't message you first as a store rep, would you be able to give it another go, and if still facing the same issue we can flag down a mod to help out. You're also welcome to reply to your emails regarding your case asking for this to be escalated, our team are happy to help where they can.
