Ive bought a few of these last year

    Why?

    • Asking the right questions imo

I used to have one and it’s rubbish. Apparently, the magnetic connection can wear out overtime and lead to connection failure. Cleaning the contact points can help a bit but I chucked mine away

That's worrying. I got a clone of the Xiaomi lightbar from Amazon, so it uses the magnetic mounting/tilting system. It's been used for 1.5 years now and still fine though.

Any recommendations for a curved monitor (S3422DWG) please?

I'm using a much cheaper light bar thanks to Clear's recommendation. Works fine atop of my 35 inch curved ASUS monitor.

There's no app control however and there's no switch on a wire, you just touch the side of the light bar to turn it on or dim it.

    • i used baseus version for same monitor .. no issue .. just need to adjust it so doesn't pinch the bezel and only frame

  • I have one of these, bought from a deal a while ago. It's great. I use rear lights often as ambient lighting. Rarely use forward lamp but it's plenty bright. The only annoying this for me is the button to turn it on and off. Sometimes it doesn't register and you have to press again.

  • My one is broken, keeps blinking, and reset is useless.

    • keeps blinking,

Most likely the magnetic mounting/metal contacts are not making good contact. That would cause the blinking. It happened to mine when setting it up first time, when I didn't put the bar correctly in the magnetic mount. You have to pull it off and adjust a few times to make sure it's making good contact with the metal electrical points.

If adjusting doesn't help try to inspect the contacts closely (you should be able to "push" some of them in with your finger and make sure they are springing back to the same distance. If not some dust might be inside, in which case you will need to unplug the lightbar and use like a small screwdriver to try "pull" the contact out a bit so that is pushes out the same/normal distance like the other one.

Although I have a Xiaomi clone model and it never had to do surgery on the lightbar.

      • thank you for sharing your experience, I can't try to fix it anymore(in the landfill site).
your advice is better than yeelight technical support, they just told me it's faulty and no way to fix it.

Sorry to hear. Most likely they just want you to give up and buy another one 😪.
