Fwiw a $150 task comes with a $19.50 booking fee so using this coupon code simply brings you back to your task fee original price.
Ridiculous that Airtasker charges so much imho for connecting people. They also monitor any conversation you have, so good luck trying to work out solutions outside platform.
Sounds reasonable to me. They're a business. If you don't care about reliability then just hit up free services like Gumtree and Marketplace.
It is because the expectation is not made clear to any users and uses dark patterns not found in Gumtree & Marketplace.
When you post a task, it asks you how much you'd like to pay. You input $150, you can then progress onto selecting a task responder. The task responder sees the prompt of $150 too. So far so good.
However it is only when you the task creator 'checks out' after selecting a task responder that it is suddenly revealed that they have to pay $170.
And also I found out, that the task responder also takes a loss (I believe it is the same percentage).
Of a $170 task (posted originally by the task creator as $150), AirTasker takes $40 while the task responder takes $130.
That's some serious bullshit.
it shown "This coupon code is invalid" when I tried this on my first $150 tasks
I had the same issue.
This 20$ will be paid by the Tasker lol
