only 10% and is that off the RRP?
and i've reported for no price in title…

  • 10% is off my usual pricing, which is way below dealer pricing.

No price in title because I am advertising the category, rather than a separate listing for every brake or service kit for every model of car I support.

Thanks for your interest and comments.

Sorry you're supposed to put sample price in the title(ie provide a sample that you think is best), and if 10% off is your usual pricing than its not strictly classified as a bargain. Probably better suited to the forums…

Thanks for coming to ozbargains and posting, but regular pricing isn't a bargain. (hence I'll have to neg)

      please review posting guidelines…

here is an extract for you:

      Notes to merchants:
As OzBargain is a community website, deals that you have posted will be judged and voted by our community members. Post when you have a bargain and not just for advertising purposes. Generic advertisements may be removed or may make it difficult for you to post, when you have something that really should be popular. Reps posting deals which are constantly attracting excessive negative votes may also see the account and/or domain banned by the mods.
Merchants should note that small reductions, excessive conditions, and other costs related to the deal will NOT be well received. Users will likely vote negative for your deals and moderators may BAN or restrict deals, reps, or sites that are not well received.

Always link directly to the specific product page.

Do not link to the company's top-level website unless there is no specific page that could be used instead. Linking to a top-level website, especially when there is a direct link to the product, is often regarded as spam-like conduct and is not welcomed.

To be fair, they said '10% IS OFF my usual pricing'.

      • +1

I think your neg is based off mis-reading their statement, they said "10% is off my usual pricing" not "10% off is my usual pricing"

but yes an example of the savings to be had would help.

        Ninja Edit: beaten

        • ahh yeah you guys are correct, its my bad, add to that… "which is way below dealer pricing."

will remove the neg for now, but OP should post some examples.

^ As above and no bargain to be had here.

    Some pricing examples:

SKMIN1 - Service kit for MINI Cooper R50 $185.78 ($206.42 if you buy items individually.)

    http://www.masterparts.com.au/p/6180051/skmin1---service-kit…

BKMIN2 - Brake kit for MINI Cooper R56 to 08/2009 $519.48 ($577.20 for items bought individually). This item qualifies for free shipping anywhere in Australia.

    http://www.masterparts.com.au/p/6092834/brake-kit-for-mini-c…

Like I said earlier, these prices are 10% off my usual pricing, which is already dramatically less than dealer pricing.

By posting this as one deal I've hoped to avoid appearing to spam OzBargain with dozens of kits, each of which has a fairly limited audience.

    • Thanks for that James.

    • "I've hoped to avoid appearing to spam OzBargain with dozens of kits"

You get a limited amount of listings as a Rep. Lol you wouldn't be able to spam Ozbargain with "dozens of kits" anyway, champ. :D

You probably should have linked to your best "special deal" and mentioned in the write-up up that's there's much more money to be saved around your site.

"At Master Parts, service kits and brake kits are priced at 10% off the equivalent component pricing."

I don't reckon that that's a special.. it's more of a given. Of course if you were to buy a bunch of stuff as a "kit" you would expect it to be cheaper than the sum total of each individual component purchased seperately.

Just like a games "bundle" - you get a console and a few games and whatever.. and it's cheaper than buying each component on it's own. Kit, bundle, call it what you will.. it's not a special deal, it just is.

I fail to see the "special" in stating the obvious. :P

Exactly. I'm assuming the kits are standard products and I can't imagine they were ever sold for the same price as the sum of their parts (as there would be no incentive to buy them). Therefore these are just standard prices and this is just advertising.

  • Hmmmm. Tough crowd.

@johnno07, the kits are not "standard products". Brake pads, brake discs and brake pad sensors are usually sold as separate items.

    • facepalm

and that's exactly his point, usually when you buy in bulk and buy multiple items from one location, some type of discount is expected.

yeah it is a tough crowd here, of weathered bargain hunters and tighties.

what i've found best is to list the cheapest you can find the items online, then show how much cheaper yours is, thats a true bargain, if people had the time what they would do is search for each item at its cheapest price and if yours is cheaper than its a good deal… if not then… you'll have to do better :D

I guess the problem you face here is so many reps think they are doing us a service buy selling us stuff. its a buyers market, those who work with the community flourish - as they have either many people spreading the virtual word on how good a deal you have or directly buying.

ozbargain is a high volume site.

      • Thanks for the clarification, wisc.
