Passmark indicates about 10% slower than a i7 1165g7 probably due to slightly lower clock speed.

I have no clue about speeds vs Intel, but OP created a very nice post!

  • I am looking for a laptop which can up to the budget of $1200. Is there any good value for money can be recommended? I need 16gb ram. Thanks

Screen isn't great on this one but here's a suggestion: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/766733

      There's also this one: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/766074

      • I am using Lenovo L14 Gen 3 at the moment and only purchased 1 month ago. However it has a very annoying issue about all keys aren't working when waking up from the sleep eg: cannot type etc. In fact, I have tried two of L14 G3 and all have the same issue. Therefore I am nervous about Lenovo E series again.

The second Acer laptop seems to have the best specs for around $1000. Not sure about the overall user experience as I saw some reviewers complained about the poor keyboard quality and the fan vent is right in front of the right corner of the screen.

What are you going to use it for? What size screen do you prefer?

The Swift X, 2nd post above, is probably the best bang for your buck deal for the size and weight of the laptop. There isn't really anything similar at that price point.

      • Screen size 14 or 15 is all fine. 16gb ram is necessary. That Acer Swift laptop seems to have the best specs around this price which even comes with a separate graphic card. I may need several choices.

        Thanks

  • Is the ram upgradeable?

  • $542.73

Why did you exclude GST from the 10% discount amount?

  • If only the RAM was 16GB at this price…

Just an FYI, the pics at the top of the BL product page are wrong. This model has a USB-C & single USB3-A port instead of the two USB3-A's pictured. Can also be charged via said USB-C.

Thanks OP, grabbed one myself for very occasional use

  • good find OP

  • This is not a gaming capable laptop for anyone looking for that in this. LoL is an ancient game and probably one of the few games that'll get 60fps on it. For fortnite and even csgo on lowest settings you'll get sub 60 fps average. Even valorant, a game that can be run at over 1k fps now will barely do 60 on this laptop. The gpu is slower than the vega graphics that were in ryzen 2000 apus. Pretty much a glorified igpu for video output purposes.

Here's some benchmarks for this pairing of cpu+gpu (different laptop brand).

    • Refer to an actual review of this laptop and not a a different laptop like your post

      https://laptopmedia.com/au/review/acer-aspire-3-a315-24p-rev…

      CSGO 72FPS 1080p low.
      DOTA2 90FPS 1080p low.

It's not a gaming laptop, but is fine for a casual eSports title at low settings.

    • Did you read the price? no !
Yes this is zen 2 and not zen 4, but it's very capable for very cheap !

  • Is 8gb ram enough? I'm after something for the folks just for general internet and watching movies.

    • Will be plenty for those requirements

  • For anyone who missed this deal, I managed to pick this up for $537.00 delivered through Bing Lee's ebay store. There's an ebay plus voucher which takes $60 off the listed price.

    • What code did you use? Best I can find is PLUSTOPAPRIL for $41.79 discount
