Why Do You Shower in The Morning?

I've wondered for a while now, why do people shower in the morning as soon as they get up?

Personally I only shower at night. In the morning my routine is > relieve myself > wash my hands > wash my face > ready to face the day…Not only does it save time but it also saves our precious water, so a win win.

Maybe people sweat in their sleep or is it just a habit since childhood? Interested to know so I'll do a poll and add more if I missed something!

Haha just imagine, things are getting steamy and then you stop to go shower…there goes your chance of getting lucky. How about just shower after getting sweaty, simple!!

    • That's a definite.
      Shower before and after.
No ifs, no buts, hygiene comes first.

Whooaa, bit scary some of the comments here. ( Many dirty bastards)
Firstly I live in SE.Qld, always hot and sticky.
I Have aircon, like most others here. I am retired, but do heavy outside work - Concreting, building, fences etc. Am male and a bit hairy. I shower in the morning, in the evening, if I've been out somewhere during the day ie shopping or travelling, after gym workouts, rooting, after working outside. Why, because I want to feel good and clean, and not sweaty or smelly inside my home. I have material backed chairs and lounges and don't want to stain them. Oh yes, I'm not some pristine type, many days I'm the same as many fluro clothed and booted workers out there who actually do something.

  • I find that if I don't shower in the morning I sweat a lot more throughout the day and feel disgusting by the end of the day. Not sure how or why, but it's definitely a thing.

    • No that’s because you’re up and about, you naturally sweat.

      • But I sweat noticeably more if I haven't showered in the morning, by a mile. If I haven't showered in the morning by the end of the day I feel REALLY sweaty, greasy and gross and others have pointed it out on the rare occasion I've not been able to shower in the morning. This doesn't happen when I shower in the morning.

  • Precious water? Buddy 70% of this planet is water.

    • That’s not drinking water which comes out of our taps.

Always at night. If you've been out, running errands all day and touching things, I think it's revolting to not shower in the evening.

First things first, happy that u relieve yourself in the morning. Nothing like a bit of hand relief.

You shower before work as you accumulate body odour and are about to goto work.

Your colleagues care that you smell,

If your other half or dogs etc say you smell at night then shower then too.

I see your obsession with water saving, so no doubt you have at least a 10000 litre rain water tank on your property and all your grey water, waters vegetables.

I think it’s disgusting not showering before work in the morning.

I also recommend releiving yourself before bed results in a better night sleep

  • OP seems like a very disliked person on this thread. I wonder if all people who don't shower in the morning are judgmental jerks.

Haha I don’t mind being disliked when I speak the truth.

  • You relieve yourself EVERY MORNING?

Shower at night only. Can't imagine going to sleep dirty even if I spend the day in an air conditioned office. Skin would be far too dry and irritated showering twice a day. Would need to moisturise 4 times a day if I showered twice. Just not that dirty.

  • i have lived in the university dorm and share houses for the last 20 years. I found most Asian have shower at night and Aussie have showers in the morning. Good combination when the share house have an electric hot water system, especially during winter. I guess the OP is probably an Asian immigrant who would most likely ask this question after sharing the bathroom with the local tenants.
