TOPBRANDSAPRILPLUSTOPAPRIL

Hi all we are not only focusing on refurbished computers but also computer parts, especially GPUs and Motherboards. Here you go a nice price to performance entry level GPU for gaming.

ASRock Radeon RX 6600 Challenger D 8GB
Good condition with minor oxidation on the heatsink (common on ex mining card).
One year return to base warranty.
Stress tested before dispatch. Come with box.

I know a lot of people have concerns about ex mining cards but according to our experience, the faulty rates on ex-mining cards are not really higher than ex-gaming cards. They were undervolted and underclocked during mining and run really cool during mining.

Also we provide one year warranty on these models so you can buy with confidence.

We also got MSI RX 6600 Mech 2X and Gigabyte RX 6600 Eagle for $231.57 Delivered if you are not a fan of AsRock.

More models coming soon.

Happy Easter!
Cheers,
Jun

    1 year warranty is niceđź‘Ť

    • At least they're honest "EX MINING CARD, Good condition", but for an ex-mining card, no thanks.

      • -1

Yeah I wouldn't be touching these with a bargepole

        • +29

$200 for a good card with 1 year warranty and you complain, get out of here

          • +6

@botchie: I got the 6700 xt from this seller a month ago and it's been running great.

            • +3

@Ozyow: the cards about $350 brand new so you're getting $150 off

i mean if there's better show us

          • -2

@botchie: The general rule is 50% of new cost for 2nd hand items. PC parts historically it's more like <25%

Instead zoomers are trying to change the status quo. ie trying to sell their used gpu's for essentally new prices. Not to mention xr6 turbos lol.

This card was $320 new a year ago. Just hodl or boycott pc gaming. It's only the weak willed suckers that don't see that as an option.

            • @JimmyNegger: Where can I find used PC parts (or any tech) 50% off the new price?

              • -1

@GhatT: Hardly anywhere the last 2 years.

I don't see why people are posting the inflated products here though. The "ozmsrp" joke is thrown around, but for this page it's sadly a reality.

This website is still used properly in all other sections (coffee/pc hardware etc) it's literally just members on this gpu page posting inflated deals They're trying to pump covid/crypto prices throughout the post covid/crypto period (to protect the value of the $2000 gpu they overpaid for).

GPU's (and cars) are probably the most overpriced products atm. So why post them on ozbargain at all?

                • @JimmyNegger: You cant find any tech at 50% off used, not just GPUs

                  • @GhatT: There's heaps 5600x is like $200 used now (was $450+ new), ddr5 far cheaper, the cheapest b660 board was the ds3h for $200. It's just gpu's really. Seen some new rmx750 for $150 also.

                    • @JimmyNegger: Not really a good example… You can buy a brand new 5600x for $260. You need to look at the current used price and the current new price to make a fair comparison.

                      • -1

                        @Heero: No 5600x was $450 q2 last year now it's $200 used. That's 50% less used.

Best 6700xt was $679 q2 last year (for a red devil). 50% used would be like $340. Tell me where you can get them for $340 like you can the 5600x for $200?

        • +1

Barge poles are very long, you could easily touch one of these without concern to your safety.

          • +1

@stephendt: I would beat this card into the river where it belongs. Maybe at $150 it makes a bit more sense.

  • Man I seen a 6700XT for $400 brand new the ovver day

    • +8

And you didn't post it as a deal?

    • +13

Are you sure that wasnt the 6700 non XT?

      around $420 at the moment

      • 6700xt is a very scenic card.

    • They get posted here for $599 and upvoted a lot lately. Which is pretty shameful of members (since their actual msrp is 530aud).

  • +5

Potentially $195 delivered with ebay plus (still with metrocom)

  • +9

While it's true that most mining cards were run underclocked and undervolted, that only true for the core, it's the vmem that's run on the ragged edge of stability for maximum profits.

  • +2

Are there any scientific papers about the safety of undervolting?

Think about it, when there are power surges your electronics are damaged, but the same applies when there is a voltage sag. Most people have power surge protection but a lot of people don't have a UPS and when there are brownouts that is more likely to damage your computer and other electronics…

So the science would show that undervolting could cause damage, but yet all the mainstream journalists and marketing guys keep stating that minimising heat is more important but they seem to miss the obvious. Overall, it depends on the operating voltages and if it was set at the correct range, no reseller can know the truth about where it was set. No reseller can run a stress test for 24 hours and state they found the flaws in a GPU…

    • +9

I'll continue to undervolt as I've always done and you can continue to wait for your scientific research.

      • It's simple electricity/thermodynamics. We don't need to wait for studies you can look them up now.

A gpu doesn't have it's own laws lol

    • +2

I believe in most cases a surge is increase of voltage multiple times the rated voltage. Also a sudden decrease and increase in voltage can also cause issues causing the electrical item to consume more current. Also undervolting could case issues in certain scenarios where reducing voltage would cause the item to consume more current - like an inductive load. Like an electric motor running a load which would cause it to overheat.

However in electronics the same need not hold true, as the load is of different kind. If you undervolt, the power is reducing not remaining costant. If you undervolt too much, the GPU wont post, so its already not allowing you to downvolt too much. Of course in certain scenariios like curve optimizations it allows for more current, but its still well within the original power limit of the GPU/CPU so thats all fine.

      I may be wrong tho.

    • +2

This guy has a point, I'm unaware of any peer reviewed scientific articles that have tested the safety of undervolting. I'm going to put my tin foiled hat on but please bear with me. Who knows what all the low voltage electrical waves could be doing, VDROOP is a real phenomenon and it could be at the perfect resonating frequency to cause physical damage to the silicon.

And this is just the tip of the iceberg. What's not to say that the EMF generated could be doing damage to your body, cancer is a possibility, hell this is probably how all the strains of COVID came about. It could also be communicating with advanced alien lifeforms as we speak, asking them to liberate all silicon from the brutal and unjust undervolters of the world.

      • +2

Nah covid came from eating bats and pangolin. It's not crackpot. Same as leprosy comes from armadillo

    • it's about the magnitude of the surge

controlled undervolting is unlikely to cause issues

  • This or a second hand 1080?

    • +12

Same or near price for the GTX 1080? This easily.
Newer games are much better optimised for the newer architechture.
A 1080 being much older has a higher potential to fail

      • also the 1080 is slower then a 6600 :)

        • Fairly certain they're pretty evenly matched when running games that aren't better optimised for either architecture.
Newer titles are of course harder to run so it makes sense to get the newer RX 6600 that is more optimised for newer games.

      • +1

Also driver support will most likely drop off for the 1080 before the 6600.

    • Bugger all difference. That's why this "deal" is simply relative to everything else available and not a deal.

If you had to pick a gpu to compare the rx6600 it would be the GTX 1080 lol. Not the 1080ti (ie 6600xt).

That's how miniscule the difference is. It's slightly faster than 1080, it uses less power, but also comes with compatibility/driver issues/gimped memory bus… and runs pubg/fortnite like some 90's prototype.

some Ebay feedback for this seller:

This is seller should be caged!! Bought a graphics card, didn't work so had to send it back. Seller did not respond to any of my messages. Called Australia Post and the package was clearly delivered and received by seller. Failed to give refund so I had take matters with ebay. Absolutely disgusted!!

HP GeForce RTX 3070 8GB OEM Used one year warranty (#255864734221)

really sounds like 1 year warranty lol

    • +3

      Oof.

Can we get a response from OP please?

      • +2

The whole point is they don't respond :)

    • +8

The return happened during Christmas and new years holidays so we couldn't response in time. Previously we process refund immediately when ebay reminds us the return is delivered (based on the tracking info) without checking the condition of the returns until we got a empty return box. Since then we checked every return delivery before we process refund or replacement. This return was delivered during the holiday with some other returns and we couldn't check and get back to the buyers in time. Sometimes mistake happens but we are improving the return process to make sure it's not happening again.

  • +1

Why do the newer gen GPUs get rust/corrosion on them? Is it because they're running 24x7 during mining? or just dust bunnies from more fans attracting moisture?

    • +8

Doesn't necessarily have to be from 24/7 mining, the salts in the air from living near the coast will have the same effect eventually, a lot of my heatsinks on gpus, and even cpu coolers, over the years eventually form some sort of corrosion on them, i live about 10mins from the water.

    • +9

many were run outside to avoid generating too much heat inside. Undercover to avoid it frying but when they're not in a case and far more exposed to the elements it's going to take a battering.

    • +2

Carports and Garages do this anywhere - a house is the best place for running a PC, and on a desk not the floor!

    • +1

I live at the Gold Coast and all my computer parts with metal have corrosion on them. GPU backplates, heatsinks and heatpipes, SATA cable connections. Even all my USBs have corrosion on them. I don't even live that close to the coast (about 10km inland).

    • +3

newer gen GPUs get rust/corrosion on them

Because the room they live is most likely a garage were noise isn't going to drive people nuts.

People who use gaming GPU's that are rusty are also most likely vaping near their PC :).. moister of any kind will rust up a PC over time.

  • Had a $20 off $200 spend coupon that worked with this. Not sure where it came from

    • +4

bunch of new personalised ebay plus codes seems to have dropped on "my ebay" page overnight… Mr Jack must be working over Easter

      I've got a $25 off 200 and a $20 off $150

      • I don’t get shit, are they on a desktop web page or mobile

        • The codes are from a promo last month. If you purchased enough with the previous 5/7% or 10/12% off promos & have ebay plus you get a one off promo code the next month.

The T&C from one of mine:

          maintain their eBay Plus membership.

The other:Conditions. This offer entitles Eligible Users to an eBay voucher valued at $20 (“Voucher”) when they:

I also had a $25 one I used with this graphics card with simmilar terms. Was building a PC for a mate so this all stacked up nicely.

        • +1
  • +3

I was so excited to see the graphic card price finally has become somewhat reasonable again until I see [used]

  • +4

    Price;
    new = exciting
    used = yeah nah

  • +3

I won a used (non-mining) RX 6600 in an eBay auction for $208 about a month back.

Turned out it was in absolutely brand-new condition and works perfectly.

So this deal is OK, but nothing too special, this is around what they are going for at the moment.

Can't beat the price:performance of these though. It plays all the games at 1080p (and higher if you reduce settings or don't need more than 60FPS etc, depending on the game).

    • +4

The 1 year warranty has to be worth something tho

    • +2

$208 is a great price. Consider yourself lucky.

I've been watching used RX 5700 XT and 6600 over the last three months on eBay. Only a few sold at that price. Most sell between $230 and $270.

  • +1

Great seller would buy again. Bought a 3060ti from them for 379 that weirdly would only work in csm mode and not UEFI and the seller refunded me the full amount 3 months after purchase. I then bought a 6700xt from them which is working great.

    • +1

      both refurbs?

      • +1

Yes. They replied to my request almost instantly and initiated the return.

  • Can some body confirm the dimensions. Thinking to buy NUC from Computer alliance and wondering if this card will fit as it only accepts 8inch graphic card.

    https://www.computeralliance.com.au/parts?id=28659

  • +3

Jun is top bloke. I have had a sff PC and a 6600xt ex mining, no dramas

  • +1

Got a 6700XT from them a few weeks backs, wasnt as rusted as i expected (which is a good thing)

Happy to save some cash and go almost 50% off rrp..

  • Looks like they also have other model cards on their ebay account, although they only have 3 months warranty

  • +2

Was going to get the $420 6700 new but may grab this instead and HODL for something better…

  • -6

Sorry but this is a website for deals. Not prices relative to the condition of the product.

You could smash it with a hammer and sell it for $50 too. But that wouldn't be a deal either. Hope you've all learned something today

  • On a side note, if not looking to upgrade in the near future and only playing BF5 and 2042 on 2160p resolutions, is 6900XT for $800 a good deal ?

  • Shattered I missed the 6700xt from last time

  • +2

I had to return a GPU (3080) to metrocom. Long story short, GPU was fine, I'm a retard, and they paid the postage back(I paid the postage to them). They were good, honest about it all.
