lately can't help but feel costco warehouse savings are underwhelming…

True. Less than what half price promos offer at ColesWorth.

    where's the catalogue?

  • Is 43c per Finish Ultimate Pro tablet any good? Hard to keep up with pricing with so many different versions and price increases. Don't really need to buy any yet. Must have bought years worth way back and still have a few packets left.

    • Same position as you. Can't seem to find any deals under 20c per tab any more. All in 1 max are usually best value. But seem to be 30c+ now

Aldi 18 in 1 are pretty good and much cheaper…pretty sure it is high on the Choice rating as well

      • We've tried those as well as a lot of others and have found the Ultimates and Fairy Platinum I think? the best. Others seem to leave a residue on some of our bowls.

      • We use their 10 in 1 variety and they work great. A Choice review some years back seemed to confirm that. Pretty sure I paid $4.79 for 30 yesterday but didn't keep the receipt.

        • It's great that Choice rate them highly. I'm a huge supporter of Choice but they just didn't work well for us.

All haldiram freezer products are half price at coles this week Samosa @ 5.75

  • Daawat - How do you like that?

We normally use India Gate Classic but have to travel to get it. It IS good and certainly the best we've had to date but any feedback on Daawat would be helpful.

    • Presume you are talking about Basmati rice?

It is quiet good as well.

i bought this 20 Kg last time. its a good rice. we used to use India gate. but dawat is equally good

    • If you're in Sydney, you don't have to go far for basmati rice.
Try a small bag from one of the Indian shops and compare.

Fantastic deal on the Cuckoo rice cooker for $129.99. I purchased mine for just over $160 at Bing Lee awhile back.

I have had mine for a long time and it has not skipped a beat - quick to cook, forgiving and consistent with different amounts of water added, rice is full of flavour, easy to clean, no burnt or wasted stuck rice left in the pot, no pot scratches after hundreds and hundred of washes.

Negatives are I have not found a way to turn down the finished cooked chime and the bowl itself is very slippery due to the coating material.

Friends who bought cheaper brands such as Panasonic were disappointed by the cooking time.

    • Thanks for your review. It doesn't say it in the catalogue, but is it the Cuckoo CR-0632F 6 cup? Have you had a chance to use the steamer function or the slow cook function?

    • What else can you do with it apart from cook rice?

      • This is the model (I believe): https://www.amazon.com/CR-0632F-Multifunctional-Programmable…

It can do: White Rice, GABA Rice, Quick Rice(Turbo), Multi Grain/Brown Rice, Porridge, Multicook, Slowcook, Auto Clean, Warm, Reheat.

Would love to hear OP's thoughts on these functions if they've used it (and if this is indeed the model from Costco).
