      I’ve had one for ages. Never bothered. It’s always been more worthwhile flying my helicopter to the cheapest 7/11. Now two. Let’s see if they’ll stack!

        I've had my AMEX card for > 10 years and use it regularly.
        I find you earn good points, which can be redeemed on Woolies gift cards.
        There's lots of good offers that come out each month (the frequency and attractiveness of these offers greatly improved several years ago).
        $200 annual travel credit > annual fees. You can use the travel credit on flights or accommodation.
        Also it comes with free domestic and international travel insurance, extended warranty cover and other benefits.

          I agree but miss Shop Small and the Vogue Fashions Night Out has changed a lot and is not as beneficial to me.

          I meant I had an Ampol offer for ages. I have 3 activated now. I tried once at a Caltex Ampol but realised too late that that was excluded. So I went to one that the website insisted is not EG Ampol and that went through as a “Caltex” transaction.

          I’ve had a look at the next 10 closest Ampol stations and they’re all excluded (EG Ampol mainly). I’m not going to neg this deal, but it’s cost me coin compared to 7/11.

          And yes, the Platinum card is awesome in the right circumstances.

            @AmexReferralPlease: Just checked this morning, and after 4 days of reconciliation, the “Caltex” transaction did qualify. Twice. I have a 3rd one activated now. Stack away!

      Yes, it did for me for the last Ampol offer. Make sure you haven't paid at a Caltex Woolworths, EG Ampol or EG Fuelco Ampol location.

    There's another Ampol offer that expires on June 14 that overlaps with this offer, so you could spend $60 and get $10 back up to two times, rather than $5 back up to two times, if your card got targeted again.

    You don't need to spend 2 lots of $60. One transaction of $120 will give you a $10 statement credit.
