      • Don't forget a Ouija board or pack of cards. ;)

Only good guys with chainsaw can protect you from bad guys with chainsaw! Good Deal

      • +1

I don't think any bad guy's chiansaw will be defeated by an 18v one

    • +5

LOL, yeah … so what's the drill driver for then, on your average camping trip?!? Dismantling the odd fence to gain easy access? Knocking up some handy shelving for use 'in the field'? The mind boggles.

      • +2

Drilling holes into rocky ground for the tent pegs?

Try camping at Cooper Pedy, Tailem Bend and many other examples.

      • +1

Add a rubber band and you've got a marshmallow rotisserie!

      • +5

I've got tent pegs that you screw into the ground with a drill/driver.

      • Never know when you'll need it, rocket fire log works great for a quick cook up.

      • Winding up the stabilisers on your 30ft caravan at 5am

      • Average camping trip you don't need it but if you go the tough 4x4 tracks it makes tyre changes a breeze

        • How are you using a drill to change tyres?

          • +1

@mapax: An impact driver would be better but if you first loosen the lug nut you can use a socket attachment on the drill to quickly remove the nuts. It does save a bit of time.

    • Plans on stopping in Alice Springs overnight, obviously.

    • +2

      Perfect for the zombie apocalypse.

      Lure with the radio
      Blind with the blower
      Kill with the chainsaw
      double tap with drill driver.

Kick back and relax with a beer and good book by the light of the lantern.

      Perfect camping trip.

Jason and Freddy's favourite camping kit !

    Bravo Ryobi

  • is packed with essential tools

Like chopping up bodies when you're out in the woods.

    • +4

No camping for me. I don't trust anyone. Specially you two there 😄

    • You just said bodies… What if they're bodies of kangaroos or (bush) turkeys. Might come handy

  • +1

When I was in Bunnings yesterday I noticed Ozito had a camping kit too though I thought it was still overpriced for what you got (OzBargainers are hard to impress right)

Bit of a different camping trip compared to the Ryobi…

    • +1

Yeah Ozito camping kit has much less included. Here the key item it's the 18V ONE+ 10” (25cm) Chainsaw. That alone it costs a lot to buy.

      • Yeah, I just want the chainsaw, but not for camping LOL
Hopefully there is a better deal coming soon.

    • Yeah but Workshop Blower for camping? lol

      • +4

You ever tried using ya lungs on an airmatress?

      • +5

Workshop blowers are the bomb for getting a camp fire roaring, or are you still using bellows?

      • If you don't find it useful for camping you can leave it in the workshop where it belongs 😀

        • +1

Good point, it's belong where I belong, home 🤭🤭

      • It has attachments for blowing up mattresses etc too. Good for clearing the ground of small stuff before putting down the tent and getting the fire raging.

Always take a blower with us now (though not this one, the ozito split one. Have the high/low inflator for everything else)

      • For blowing up your air mattress.

      • Mosquitoes.

  • Is the chainsaw for people walking across the campsite you paid for?
I just came back from a camping trip, and I'm not sure where a chainsaw would have come in handy.

    • +10

It depends on what kind of campsite you went. Normal camping means finding wood, cutting wood, light your own fire. If you went at those campsite were there is showers, toilets and electricity then I don't think that's a proper camping.
Note: I don't like camping. I find it inconvenient for me. Plus I hate spiders and snakes.

      • +4

It ain't camping until you have shoveled dirt on ya No:#2

        • +7

I shit in the workshop blower and launch it when I'm done

          • @dav3: That's a normal Taco Tuesday night for me.

    • -2

Protection for newbie caravaners who make the unfortunate mistake of stopping overnight in places like Alice Springs.

  • +1

It’s definitely not a camping kit.

  • The chainsaw on a pole may be a lot better if the camping turns into a Lord of the Flies type scenario

    https://www.bunnings.com.au/ryobi-one-18v-8-20cm-cordless-po…

  • Do you use the drill driver to assemble a shed for camping?

    • Imagine you need to drill a few holes and place some sticks through them, or use a few screws, and yes you might need a drill driver. Maybe a compact driver can be better.

    • +2

For heavy duty tent pegs that are drilled into the ground rather than hammered. e.g. hexpegs

  • needed the little power inverter thing and would of been perfect

  • -2

bit of a stretch calling this camping related
Way overpriced for basically a drill and chainsaw, 2 items
blower may be of some use but 2-3 items for $380?!

    no way Ozito PxC rules!
you get 5 (i think 1 was crap) so 4 decent items for $250!

    edit: this one Px5pak-800

    • For some strange reason most people who go camping are obsessed with lighting a fire, even if they're not cooking on it. Thus the chainsaw (wood).

      • then buy a chainsaw
why package it with extra garbage and call it a camping kit

  • Is an 18v drill strong enough to drill through a piece of 200mm timber sleeper?

    • +2

      Yes

    • -5

Depends. If the user is vegan or regularly ingests soy products the drill may wrap their arm around in such a way they cannot release the trigger. Unless there's a meat-eating 10 year old girl at the nearby campsite who wakes from the sound of a skull banging against the log every second or two, they'll continue spinning until the battery drains so they'll probably expire.

      • +1

        Rent free

      • +1

this was actually funny but obviously a joke
vegans are plenty strong if not stronger
esp maccas kfc eating fatsos struggling to walk

reminder not eating animal doesnt make you weak.
        eg: rhino, ox, moose etc

dont let their idiocy become yours

        • Yes a joke. ;-) but thinking about it I've also known a few vegetarians/vegans all of which were spindly, weak, and lethargic/low-energy (no ongoing stamina - they'd quickly tire bush walking, playing volleyball, etc). And while you wouldn't think so, most fat people are actually stronger than their like peers because it's like they're carrying extra weights around 24/7 that other people don't.

e.g. I was one of the shortest kids in school and overweight. One year I tried weight training at the local gym for sport. My mates were lifting 1/4 to 1/3 of the weights on the leg curl machines, and only lifting them a few times, and struggling. As a joke they swapped the pin to the bottom of the stack and their mouths fells open as I lifted lifting every weight, 30x reps, without the struggle they had and I could have done it 2 or 3 more times if there wasn't a rep limit (so kids didn't clog up the machines for paying adults). I guess they all thought I wasn't going to be able to lift anything due to being a "weak fatty who never exercises like us" while I thought I was only lifting the same 1/3 they just had.

There's always exceptions on both sides of course like that houso/pot-head vegan gains.

Seems more tailored to environmental destruction than appreciation, will suit retards in their oversized utes/4bys with a Kings catalogue attached well

    • The radio should be smashed for a start. I hate radios playing on the beach, in parks, camp grounds, etc.

  • +1

Great now when i escape suburbia and all the electric tool sounds i can alsonhear them in the bush

Ffs maybe you should stay home if you need this

  • Imagine bringing a girl home and she finds out you own the entire Ryobi back catalogue

    • garden blower take out all the labourous part of the blow ?

    • She may like to drill

    • If I knew how to use each tool, I imagine she would wed me the next day.

  • Is the drill hood enough for home use?

    • +3

      No, camping only

  • Darn, I’m going to put the kids tent up inside the house.

  • Those blowers are magic for getting a fire going.

  • -4

Camping is about toughing it with minimal stuff. Take these tools, fridge, lounge, tv, ghetto blaster, disco lights, phones, tablets, laptops, more tech crap… what's the point of going camping when you have that crap at home?? Anyone who can't leave home without the internet has problems. People have it too good

    • +2

Camping is about toughing it with minimal stuff.

You do realise there's different types of camping right? Not everyone wants to hike it out. Campervans exist for a reason, among many others.

      • -5

Yeah, for people who are soft and need a comfy bed

        • -1

So everyone who doesn't hike it up with a pack and the bare minimum are soft? Even say someone in a wheelchair? Alrighty.

        • So you intentially pack an uncomfy bed?

    • +4

Here's a tip: stop caring so much about what other people do.

      • -2

Well when people go camping, the point is to get away from the hustle of life. Instead, people take it with them and bring it in the bush. Hard to not care when a bunch of f'ing yahoos camp next to you…. or even far away. Anyhoooo…. this is a stupid pack for 'camping'. MHO
        Bunch of soft city folk

        • +2

If anyone is being soft it's you. Having a meltdown because some people choose to camp differently to you.

        • +1

How is having a Chainsaw and a blower being soft? I've cut up many a log with my battery Chainsaw and use a blower to supercharge any embers from the night before. And what's wrong with owning a drill?

          • +2

@Mums Poop Sock: @Mums Poop Sock

And what's wrong with owning a drill?

Only a really manly man can drill a hole using nothing other than his own penis and some rusty barbed wire. The rest of you are soft city folk!

    • +1

You do realize that not everybody likes the same things don't you? We're not all clones of your prejudices.

My husband 86 and I'm in my 70s. We live in the van 6+ months of the year, free camping most of the time.

You expect us to "tough it" with minimal stuff?

  • +1

I've used all those things while camping except for the drill. No one needs to bring a drill for camping. That's ridiculous.

  • Does drill driver mean hammer drill? I have an ozito cheapie and it doesn't cut it. Also re: drill when camping, yeah it can sometimes be handy albeit rare, good for getting legs out quick on a trailer/van.

    • Drill driver is just drilling holes + drive in screws. They will advertise it as a hammer drill if it has that function.

  • +1

I don't understand the hate in here. It's a bloody awesome price for all those tools and batteries.

    • +1

It's ok, I got used to it lol

      • +1

Thank you for your sacrifice. :')
I got it. Needed everything in the pack (minus the radio). Not gonna use any of it for camping, but still a great deal regardless.

  • Would have been nice to get an inverter too even the 150w one!

  • Anyone here want the drill driver, radio and batteries? I can split them up, I live in Yallambie 3085 :)

  • Any one have used the chainsaw in this kit? How is it? Is it easy to use? I need to cut down some trees around the house max 20cm in diameter. Really liked the brushless one but costs $279 vs. this almost free if sell everything else, meh…
