Ozito PXC 5.2Ah Battery and 4A Fast Charger Pack $119 + Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store/ OnePass) @ Bunnings

140

Not sure if it's the standard price or a promo but Bunnings also sells the same battery without a charger for the identical price.

So if you need a charger, or are willing to resell it (can probably get at least $20 on FB Marketplace), then this seems like a better deal

Personally I find the 4Ah batteries a much better deal, especially when they are on special with multi packs, but someone may find this useful.

If it's the standard price, feel free to report the deal and have it removed.

  • Seems like standard price according to pricehipster.

  • The combo is a promo item, not often available.

  • This is a promo pack according to Ozito. The 4A charger has never been available before as far as I'm aware and the 5.2Ah battery has been this price on its own for a while, so I think that this is a reasonable deal - I actually bought 2 packs about a week ago to see if it'll give my Ozito mower a bit more power - haven't had a chance to try it yet.

to see if it'll give my Ozito mower a bit more power

In theory, the internal resistance will be a bit lower than the other batteries, but that will only make a tiny difference compared tot he 4Ah. (Even my 2.5A seems to work fine in the 36V mower. )
Charge level of your batteries, and therefore voltage, matters much more. So swap you batteries when 1/2 or 1/3 used, don't wait until flat.

      • It's hard to be totally sure - the 5.2Ah battery has a lot of reviews saying that it gives a lot more power in tools that draw less power than the mower, so I'm hopeful that it'll be a significant difference - will just have to try it to be sure though.

Going from fully flat batteries to freshly charged 4Ah batteries doesn't make too much difference - discharge curve on lithium batteries is pretty flat compared to lead acid.

        • In my test of a 4.0Ah Ozito: 20.6V open, 19.5V with 14A load.
That is a very high load, and not much drop. Will be less in your mower. YMMV.

    • How'd your testing go? Did they give you more power?

      • I think that there was marginally more power - less tendency to get bogged down in really thick grass, but I'm not 100% confident that I could pick it in a blind test.

        • Would you say its worth ponying up the extra cash or would you just get another set 4ah batteries?

@lolcoaster: If the choice is between this deal and the 4Ah batteries at $70 each, I'd probably go for this deal - especially if you have a good use for the extra fast chargers which you can't get any other way.

If the 4Ah batteries are on special though, which they are somewhat frequently, I'd just go for the 4Ah batteries instead.

  • Does this charger have a fan to try to keep the battery a bit cooler?

    • Not as far as I can see.

Charger is faster. Cause it's red.

    • So I should return/exchange my black batteries?

      • +3

        Or paint them in red
