  • Thanks, bought a heap last week when they were $2

Sold out at my local now

  • These are still $2 at my local. Rip

Goes to show how overpriced they really are.

While I agree, they probably are making a small loss at the store level just to move them.

Which would be "worth it" due to the shelf space, cashflow and partially mitigated by tax credits on the capital loss.

Goes to show how overpriced they really are.

They may be overpriced, but this doesn't show it. Rather, it shows how expensive it is to keep inventory.

At $2 they were the cheapest chocolate per 100g in the store, at $1 they are a steal.

      • It shows how hard it is to sell Easter merchandise after Easter.

    • not really. They will toss them otherwise so $1 better than $0

  • Almost worth a trip to our local "just in case" !!

Can anyone confirm is this is a statewide or nationwide price?

  • +5

That store must of massively over ordered! our local Coles had practically no Easter eggs left over after easter. only some Milky bar eggs @ $5 each

  • Similar at woolworths
The darrel lea stuff is the same

Grabbed a few 100's & 1000's eggs on sale. They're dreaming thinking I'd pay $13 for a 130 gram egg though, absolutely bonkers price

Thanks! I saw, I went, I bought chocolate:-) still heaps left at 8:18pm.

    • can we get a daily update of stock levels? i'll be going to that store on monday and can provide a stock count.

Great price for a great chocolate.

Never see after easter deals like this at any of my locals. They go 50% off at best then just vanish.. as if shipped off elsewhere.

    • same at Reservoir VIC

My local IGA will be selling old Easter stock until next Easter.

      • Enjoy. I've checked at least 5 different woollies / coles in my travels since easter not a single one had any easter clearance.

        • Same..coles/kmart/big w/ woolies all sold out on the Saturday before Easter.

  • I would buy 100 white bunnies at that price if local :(

    • You can eat the gross white chocolate, and leave the dark chocolate to me! Everyone's happy.

Coles at my area was selling kitkat Easter egg for 50c each and most others for $1. I couldn’t resist and bought 5. On the way to check out I saw 1 lady got a trolley full of these. She must have spent $20. Jackpot

  • I think about 2 weeks ago they had these ones for $1 at Macarthur Square. Not sure how many are left. Also had other chocolates for 50c-80c!

  • eh expiry date is just a recommendation :)

    • These won't last a month in my household. Doing something wrong if these aren't all eaten before may ticks over.

  • Tempting, diabeties

  • This struck close to home! Thanks!

For the purists (like myself), just so you know, the dark is only 60% cocoa.

    • +1

Still pretty good its 60%. I've seen some chocolates classify 40% as dark.

My favourite of the range is the Lindt Excellence Dark Chocolate 85%. I like that they use demerara sugar, and the cocoa power isn't Dutch processed cocoa (cocoa processed with alkali). Less processing means more flavonols (antioxidants)…if you’re into that kind of thing. Not saying I am, but in terms of supermarket dark chocolates I think the 85% is good middle ground of having high % cocoa and some extra feel-good heath properties. Above 85% the cocoa is ‘Dutched’ and the sugar is just ‘sugar’.

  • Hey OP, thank you so much for sharing. Bought a tray of the dark ones this morning.

  • Probably 1.5-2 trays worth of milk chocolate left. Maybe a handful of the other varieties.

    • dammit i want some of the white choc
