The new yellow label makes me think Banana Flavor

  • Short gap since the last offer at Coles

  • +2

    Excludes the protein one?

    • +6

protein one is a scam, compared to other normal peanut butter it only has 1g more protein

    • +1

Protein variant are also half price - $3.25

  • +11

Delicious. Also added bonus: the jars are designed for reuse, very easy to take the sticker off.

Fingers crossed that protein and weirdo seedy ones are on special too :9

    • +2

The seedy nut is by far the best nut ;)

    • I literally had more than hundred empty jars. I have started giving these away.

      • Do you eat it straight or on toast or something? I bought a few and was eating it straight with a spoon, then looked at the kj and was blown away by how much is packed into such a small space.

        • +1

on toast, every morning for last 5+ years

  • I always get the Pic’s peanut butter. These any different, or the same or better? For the price it’s worth trying out

    • +3

      Better than Pics for me.

    • I think it has a wider variety of roasting and crunchiness levels?

Don't know much about Pic's, but since Mayver's has Normal or Dark Roast, then Smooth, Smunchy, Crunchy, Extra Crunchy (my fav), it's easier to find one that suits your taste I guess.

      Definitely worth a try.

Extra crunchy is awesome, these are $3.99 at Aldi everyday price

    • +1

They sell these at Aldi? 🤯
      Awesome!

Do they also have the dark roast? Dark extra crunchy is my favourite currently.

      • I don't recall seeing the dark but I bought the Xtra crunch a couple weeks ago from the peanut butter section, I don't think it's a special buy??

    • I much prefer the taste of mayvers over ALDI one

      • +1

Agreed, the Aldi stuff isn't as good as Mayvers

  • When did they sell out.
Correct. Less than 10% Australian ingredients. they are not all Australian peanuts, that's you in the photo and the photo does not lie.

    • The only all Australian, peanut only, peanut butter is now the Bega one- simply nuts.

      • -1

It’s a sad state of affairs. From memory the Bega one is full of rubbish right?

        • +1

The clue is in the title - Simply Nuts (and salt). Don't you believe the ad?

The ingredient lists of Mayvers and Simply nuts match VERY closely. Mayvers has slightly more salt and carbs, both 99+% (99.3/99.5%) peanut and salt.

          • @Igaf: Good to know thanks. A pity they don’t have a dark roast.

Edit to add it’s true for “simply nuts”. The standard variant is full of vegetable oil and sugar.

      • @ cynicor Not according to Mayver. Did you bother to check or have they changed?

      • @cynicor Your knowledge and research needs quite a bit of updating. Here's yet another Au company using Au peanuts.
        Ridiculously Delicious Nut Butter Company

According to this woman's tastebuds it's top of the charts: https://www.smh.com.au/goodfood/tips-and-advice/it-s-crunch-…

    • It’s not really their fault. The Aus peanut has not been able to meet demand for ages. It’s not a profitable crop compared to cotton, macadamias etc. That’s ignoring all the usual problems agriculture has too. There’s been talk of expanding into the NT, new varieties etc but not much has changed. Bega tried shaking things up a few years ago.

    • @ rhino86 Who? Mayvers? Their bottle says otherwise.

      eg:
      Mayver's Crunchy Peanut Butter
MADE WITH 100% AUSTRALIAN PEANUTS and a pinch of sea salt!

Mayver’s world-famous Crunchy Peanut Butter is made in Victoria, Australia, using delicious Hi-Oleic peanuts sourced from sunny Queensland. We are so proud to be supporting our hard-working Australian farmers by using locally grown high quality peanuts!

Like all our other Natural Peanut Butters, our 5 Health Star rated Crunchy contains absolutely no added sugar, oil, gluten, dairy, cholesterol or hardened fats. The peanuts are carefully selected then lightly roasted, mixed with the finest sea salt and ground to perfection giving it a naturally sweet tasting, crunchy texture with a tiny zing!

  • Unsalted peanut butter for my dog

  • +1

How does this compare to Pic's peanut butter?

    • I think it has a wider variety of roasting and crunchiness levels?

Don't know much about Pic's, but since Mayver's has Normal or Dark Roast, then Smooth, Smunchy, Crunchy, Extra Crunchy (my fav), it's easier to find one that suits your taste I guess.

      Definitely worth a try.

    • I too wanted to ask the same question.

It's now a competitions between Pics Vs Mayvers Vs Fix&Fogg Vs Simply Nuts for the alternatives
      over the usual
      Skippy's or Bega plastic jars

ATM for me Fix&Fogg's is winning it!

      • I second Fix & Fogg from NZ, the winner
        I've tried them all
