Brainwavz Alpha Earphones with Free Delivery $11 (with Discount Code)

160

I thought this is another good deal for the bass-lovers out (as the deal on the Brainwavz M4 was so popular last time). These are very good as a step up from stock Iphone earbuds (Much more detail with a warm and bass rich sound signature).

If it sounds like a good fit for you so far, the price is right:

The RRP on MP4Nation is USD $18.50, BUT, the RRP of in Australia is about $39:

Just saw that the price dropped down to $11.23 with free shipping (If you apply the discount code 'fb2012fiver' at checkout).

Reviews are quite positive:

I own several pairs of Brainwavz earphones and can vouch for the sound quality in general. I can also vouch for the MP4Nation website, I've used them a number of times, really good and responsive customer service. If there is a problem with the product, replacements are very quick.

i got my brainwavz beta a few days ago and imho it isn't as good as most reviews make it out to be. It is generally decent in bringing out the melody, but lacks clarity. The music is there, but constantly sounds like it's being muffled. And because of that, listening to classical music, especially violin concertos, can be very frustrating. You just keep wanting to reach into that teeny piece of plastic and tear out whatever's muffling the sound.

    Sigh.

        'Slightly' different price range. :)

    • If you didn't like the sound of those, avoid anything that says 'warm sound signature' in it's description. Go with stuff that has 'sparkly' sound. Klipsch has some like that, but they cost a fair bit more.

not necessarily. Like i said, the base music is reproduced quite well, but lacks the clarity (mids to highs). 'Sparkly' sound, as you put it, are drivers that favour treble over bass. Good for audiobooks or purely violin pieces. But when the music gets complex, a lot of the underlying melody (eg. cello, bass instruments) is left out. Of course, for the price i paid i can't really complain, just that those reviews got my hopes up. :(

        • +1. Reviews comparing the betas to ~$100 buds must have their ears full of cotton wool (or have woefully low expectations for said price range). As you point out, the price was right but if I knew they were going to be on the crap side of things I would have saved for something better.

    • I think you need a technical IEM for classical music.
Brainwavz B2?? but they are quite expensive.
or the meelec A151 / A161. also expensive.

  • does these came in a normal retail package? or is it those dodgy packets?
not planning to use them, they look nice so ill leave them for display =)

    • All brainwavz earphones I bought from them arrived in proper retail packaging.

  • Roughly how long does shipping take? Tossing between this and a logitech ue200 from eBay..

    • My orders arrived in around 10 days so far.
