Hi all,

Justin here (previously posted as PC Takeaway).

We have just finished processing in this lovely batch of Dell machines. Happy to be able to offer these 5290s at an excellent price point for you all. Coupon Code supplied.

All models are freshly loaded with Windows 10 Professional (all upgradeable to Windows 11). Battery life is "Good" to "Excellent" (will send out "Excellent" battery units first).

The 5290s are Grade B - have slight keyboard markings on the screen, sample images shown. All other units are Grade A, as new.

      hmmm, touch screens are usually glass, surprised that the keyboard left imprints …. I know with non-touch screens are plastic and keyboard marks are permanent.

        It is most likely the Anti-Glare film that has been slowly worn away.

        I've seen similar on the older versions of these Dells, as well as Surface Pros. Half the time it's just crusty shit from the keyboard and it wipes off with a screen wipe.

          I've been through three refurb 5290 in the past.
          These are permantant scratches the screens, that don't wipe off.

            @Kelvin: yeah i bought one of these before too (not this seller) and the worn screen thing is super annoying.
            Sent back to seller for refund

    Any chance the 7200 might still be under manufacturer warranty?

    Also, when is the coupon expiring? I won't have $$ until next month.

      Unfortunately, the warranty for the 7200s expired at the beginning of the year. Coupon will be valid for at least 1 week or until stocks last.

    hmmm,
    bought a 5290 16gb - 256gb refurbished off another crowd…

    lovelry machine, but plenty of issues to watch for…
    SSD and WIFI is upgradable, dropped a 1tb ssd and a AX210 into mine..
    the ram is fixed..
    Some units should have thunderbolt 3 and LTE installed

    the screen marks are a horrible distraction.. I think it is damage from the keyboard, rubbing against the antiglare..
    usually you can still see the marks, whilst trying to watch movies on it..

    Hard to go through three units to get one thatwas semi okay..
    the CPU fan , is often very very rattly.. when held at certain angles.. they probably have a finite lifespan..
    had another that wouldn't start up without the ac attached.. but then would works no issues off the battery.

    I use one as my daily nowadays.. (better than my XPS 13)

    I wouldn't touch one with the screen marks… unless it was dirt cheap..

    Seems largely unfair - same price and a random draw for either "Good" or "Excellent" condition. Likewise for Grade A & B.

      Not so random; a direct message would provide your answer whether or not you are receiving an "Excellent" battery or not. The condition grade is not random at all. Only the 5290 is Grade B, all other units are Grade A.

      At the time of writing this, "Excellent" batteries are available.

      Yeah I bought a refurbished laptop from some mob and got sent a picture of one, screen was great. Ended up with one with a similar screen as someone else posted here, this weird scratched pattern in the screen. They accepted a refund but it would be nice if these places would actually just have a different product listing for each refurb and show the actual device.

        I sent it back for a replacement, which did have a perfect screen but the battery was dead (wouldn't hold more than 15% charge). I no longer trust any listings for second hand laptops.

        (The laptops were all advertised to be in great condition, with only slight scratches on the case, and with a minimum 80% battery life)
