Transport Options from Tokyo Haneda Airport at Midnight

Didn't research Haneda airport enough before buying flights and booked flights landing at midnight. Are there any cheap transport options to the city at that hour? Looking for advice as I haven't seen much apart from an expensive taxi ride.

I have made this error in Osaka, still financially recovering from the 1-way taxi trip years later.

Basically just sift through this list to find any bus service that you may make - https://tokyo-haneda.com/en/access/bus/index.html?timestamp=…

Or get a hotel at the airport for the night..

    • How much

      • Basically assume that a taxi is around $250-$300AUD per hour of travel.

  • An unexpected problem but some suggest spending the night at a HND hotel per @rambutann

Try that? its coming up with $100 for me….

  • Don't use Jayride - my driver didn't show!

  • Local Capsule Hotel until Mono Rail back up perhaps

    • Is walking out of the Haneda possible? As there are very limited options for hotels in Haneda airport.

      • Hmm good question, there's a capsule hotel in the airport how ever

    • Is there a chance the track could bend?

It says limousine buses run until 2am but I am not sure they are at the moment. So hotel or cough up for the taxi ride. Depends where you are heading; but it probably wont be that much extra hassle to go to a nearby hotel for the night and then get yourself to your longer term accom the next day

I love this website, largely for their clarity of hotel options around airports

  • We did Narita to Nozawa Onsen using Chuo taxi. Took about 5 hours all up arriving around 2AM, cost $600 for 2 people with ski bags and 50kg of general luggage. Seemed a reasonable price to pay for the door to door convenience.

You're lucky that you land in Haneda and not Narita which is Tokyo's other airport which is even further away. Also Tokyo city is huge, so you need to be specific when you ask "transport options to the city". Which area of Tokyo city?

Your best option as others have said is to pick a hotel close by the airport for your first night, and see if that hotel has a shuttle service, or at least it will be a short taxi ride. then catch the train in the morning to your next location.

Cheap? Sleep at airport until first train/monorail. Id you land at midnight should only be about 4-5hours.

You could catch a taxi somewhere closer hotel wise? Or juat bite the bullet and taxi downtown for about $80-100.
