You are monitoring prices from eBay sellers that have not had prior OzBargain posts (+ filling in the details) as well

Thanks @UserNameCheckIn, Im currently trying to add a price history chart to products on the website, that will give us a much better idea about tool prices and how they fluctuate throughout the year. would be interesting to see.

  • Pity total tools/Sydney tools won't price match eBay stores.

    • @ReqelinOz Agreed!

  • Retail price maintenance dominates the premium battery power tool market.

Grabbed one as that is all I need.

@GRP yes that's true, but what i don't understand is that according to the ACCC its illegal. How are they still continuing to do this?

Maybe it is like Miele where the stores only sell on behalf of the brand and never own the stock?.

Whatever it is Miele included it should be illegal.

        • yep, agreed

      • How the (profanity) has Apple and other "premium" brands not been done for this? There's a whole bunch of brands that everyone knows basically never get more than a 10% discount via setting minimum discount prices (or no discount prices).

Damn our regulators are useless, they have all the powers but never use them.

Apple has been doing this forever with there retailers.

      • yep, so what then allows them to surpass the ACCC laws?

        • I would assume its the fact the fine is less than the profit they would lose if they started to lower prices.
Get fined, take it to court as they have a whole team of full time lawyers, drag out the court case for years get the fine over ruled and lowered to a more acceptable amount.

"16 March 2020, the French Competition Authority imposed a record EUR1.1. billion fine on Apple,"
"07 October 2022 An appellate court in Paris has slashed a landmark €1.1 billion fine levied against Apple by France’s Competition Authority, reducing the penalty to €371.6 million because the agency used the wrong calculation method and failed to substantiate price-fixing allegations."

Doubt Apple will even pay that for a few more years.

  • Will these work with Bosch green 18V drills from a past deal?

    • +1

Nope, please don't do this. I know there are adaptors that allow people to mix and match different battery systems and tools but they may potentially cause significant damage to either the tool or the battery. In your case, I would only use Bosch 18v batteries with Bosch tools.
      Hope that helps.

Main issue would be overloading a crappy battery with a high powered tool. So Milwauke battery with the lower powered green bosch should be fine. Using a Milwauke tool with a bosch power for all battery might be a bit iffy.

Probably technically voids your warranty for the battery and whatever tool though.

  • Does Milwaukee honour eBay selling warranties? I thought only through big box stores?

    • afaik Milwaukee Warranty is like alot of major retailers where you return it to the Point of Purchase.
Even if you wanted to go direct Milwaukee would want a Proof of Purchase and generally an ebay sale isnt valid (unless its from a Major Retailer who has an ebay store not Mikes Tools & Hardware with 3 feedback)
