SriLankan Airlines: Paris Return from Melbourne $1202 or Sydney $1244 in Oct/Nov (with 30kg Luggage) @ Google Flights

90

More reasonably cheap Europe flights, these ones to Paris flying Sri Lankan Airlines via Colombo. Dates are October & November 2023.
A few things to note; these have an 18 hour stop on the return leg, but it arrives early morning so you can get out and check out a second city on your travels (you do need a visa though). They also include a 30kg checked bag. With most Europe fares still sticking around $2000, these are a nice bargain :)
As usual, prices are slightly higher if booking direct through the airline.

Melbourne to Paris $1202
Sydney to Paris $1244

    Google Flights

    Google has planes now

    Ok google, fly to turkiye

    • Ceylon to Türkiye via Constantinople ?

  • Josh Cahill has new video on Youtube spelling out the sad situation of this airline so I'd watch that before booking

    • TLDR ?

Just watched it, it was pretty poor for the headline of the video (looked a bit click baitey). But came across more around he was annoyed at being on the tarmac while they replaced a wheel, didn't really back up the headline that much imho.

Ultimately, his argument was that they haven't purchased new planes. Their planes are about 20 years old, country is struggling economically and this will lead to poor maintenance, lack of personal to support the airlines. He also said the morale was low with the flight crew, but said they were great.

I'd love to hear what he has to say about Qantas, where I had to wait at Canberra airport for the whole day due to maintenance problem with the flight that had arrived and was meant to take us to Melbourne.

I just flew them a week ago in business. Honestly not a terrible airlines - they were the cheapest back from India where I was on holiday and their food was pretty decent. They did have a lack of nice bedding though which was disappointing and their lounge wasn't that good. But at a cheaper price it's well worth it

Any good deals to Sri Lanka 🇱🇰?

  • Given the current situation in Paris, I'm surprised discount fares are still >$1000.

  • Still waiting for some September specials, fingers crossed!

  • No spares and aircraft stranded at airport in Colombo. Flew business years ago before they joined One World and COVID. Great price ex Singapore to Europe and good service and food. Some aircraft lay flat beds but older ones not but very comfortable seating.
    Not keen now.
