  • Interested in a cheap monitor for working and watching shows, would this be suitable or better options out there?

If it isn't for gaming, you likely won't get any benefit from a high refresh rate monitor. If you are on a budget, just a standard 60Hz monitor would be fine and a fair bit cheaper.

    • Dell IPS 60hz QHD or 4k probably going to be better for the same price. Some people report QHD isn't going for streaming though (can't agree personally).

Been using one of the preceded models of this one since 2015, has been my daily driver for almost 10 years now (wow). Great budget monitor for anyone that might do a bit of gaming.

    • Sometimes I use a manual on the information superhighway, but it’s certainly convenient to take a break and let your self-driving monitor get you from A to B as you snooze at your desk

  • any recommendation for cheap 24 inch monitor wth USB-C?

  • I saw this last night actually when I was searching for a gaming monitor for the kids PC. All redditors say you need an IPS panel for FPS games though, as the VA panels have shadowing with quick movement games. So I’ve passed on this…

not bad but i feel like spending just a little bit extra for an aoc 24g2 (msy and umart seem to be largely oos sadly but theyre the only ones at this low price) or similar is a good idea. ips makes a huge difference with gaming.

free shipping on this acer sounds good tho!

    1080p isnt a gaming monitor in 2023….

With all the recent shoddy console ports don't you need like a 4080 to run >1080p?

      • +2

Yep and if I had to choose between resolution and refresh rate I'd take refresh rate every time.

    • I have a really old Dell and 2560x1440 is a lot nicer, I do understand what you guys mean though.
