Boost Mobile: $20 Cashback on Discounted Boost 140GB 12-Month SIM @ Cheddar

110

Cheddar website lists a deal for $200 Boost SIM plan (140GB) with $30 off using code BOOST170, and $20 cashback within 90 days through Cheddar.

If cashback received, is effectively $150 for the year. Important to note that there's a rumour Cheddar may be shut down, so without further info the $20 cashback may be caveat emptor.

I haven't posted info about Boost network and terms below but can update if needed for members. If the $20 cashback comes in it's the best 365-day Telstra network deal I know of at the moment.

  • Same as cashrewards?

    • Could be. I searched deals before posting and didn't find a 12m post. Happy to link if I missed it.

Edit: Aaand… right in the sidebar after I submitted the reply. Yep. Same as Cashrewards. Likely a safer choice

    Where's that rumour coming from?

TBH I don't buy the shutdown rumour. Risk to CBA reputation mismanaging this wouldn't make sense, and the 'screenshot' is a pretty dodgy hack IMO. After a decade with startups, I can assure superannuation is the least of the issues in a shutdown. Either way, it reminded me to check balance at Cheddar and I saw their deal.

      • Interesting. Thanks for the info. Hopefully not, competition is good!

Btw if you make a new cheddar account there's still the steppay $70 bonus cashback deal going on til end of May, so if the rumours are false that would make this very appealing!

      • Cheddar is now closed.

  • Good if they’re shutting down. Cashrewards and ShopBack are much better.

Seems Cheddar is just like its parent co, CommBank. At some points, isn’t reliable.

Not sure there's any benefit to consumers if Cheddar did shut down. CR and SB had their own rocky starts too. It was only with traction that they improved. Cheddar probably deserves the same chance, but Pizza Hut deals are all I took up so far so their loss leader tactics could improve

  • Would this also stack with the $25 signup bonus?
    Thanks

    • Terms on that one are simply an eligible purchase so as long as click tracking steps are followed it shouldnt be an issue. I emailed cheddar customer service as I noticed my sign up bonus was still pending so usual caveats apply.

There's a $70 sign up deal somewhere I saw. Not sure on terms for that but worth checking as may effectively be $80 for a Boost $200 365 plan. Id email and check that first

      • Should clarify, $25 deal requires eligible purchase within 30 days of sign up. Bonus is supposed to 'approve' when the purchase does.

My bonus is still 'pending' after eligible purchase 'approved' so I asked why by email to cheddar support with a transaction number auto added to subject line. No answer yet but it's only 24hrs.

'Eligible' isn't defined as anything other than a purchase that gets cashback paid, IIRC.

If taking up new user bonus, don't forget referral code generated by OzB tool so it gets paid forwsrd.

Entertaining error. This post was tagged as a deal on cheese.

  • Damn. Cheddar are approving all pending transactions. I should have bought this.

Deal marked expired, I presume by mods. Probably posted elsewhere also, but here's the email recieved today FYI:
