    The Yoga 7 Gen 8 has better CPU & GPU (Ryzen 7 7735U & Radeon 680M). This Zenbook only has Ryzen 5 7530U & Radeon RX Vega 7. For comparison, 7735U > 6800U > 6600U > 7350U. And 680M also has much better performance over Vega 7. However, this might give the Zenbook an advantage in battery life.

    Aside from that::
    + Zenbook has brighter, higher resolution, higher refresh rate OLED display
    + Better HDMI port (2.1 vs 1.4b) but only has USB3.2 (Yoga 7 has USB4)
    + a bit lighter (1.39kg vs 1.49kg)

    If you prioritise portability, not playing games a lot, this Zenbook seems to be the better choice

  The new 4th gen ryzen chip (7040) starts arriving this month. It is supposedly much better than the 3rd gen. I would wait.

    agree wait for the 4th to be on the shops, then buy the 3rd as they will get discounted.
    NEVER buy newly release product, or worst, camp 2 nights in front on the shop to get it… which are not a limited edition anyway
