National Geographic and National Geographic Wild Video Channels - Free @ YouTube

6530

Was working out who to pay to get access to National Geographic Live for my family, when I realised it’s not available as part of Foxtel anymore, and also not a part Disney+

I did some research and found out National Geographic and National Geographic Wild are now streaming for free on YouTube via their official YouTube channels. How good is that?!

I’ve been watching it ad free for the last week, unsure if my YouTube premium sub makes a difference to my ad free experience.

Since I’m only new here I can’t share the direct YouTube links in the deal link, so I found an article reporting it and linked it. Feel free to tidy this up if I’ve done something wrong.

Someone edited the description to remove the National Geographic link. Thanks? Now the post is only sharing the national geographic wild live link. The straight national geographic live link is here https://www.youtube.com/live/9HhhFKxfqUk?feature=share

Someone might get too excited and download the whole internet.

The internet is only national geographic and prawn hub. So in summary, animals doing it

          National Pornographic?
          (Hub)

      • If Snowden tried to print the internet when he was a kid and he is who is now, why not

Any straight way to do a whole or one video at a time?

Do it with a member of the oppisite sex and turn the camera on

Maybe try https://www.4kdownload.com/-43 and see if that works. Hve used that to get videos from "DailyMotion".

If you're comfy with the command line, yt-dlp is the way to go. Just copy the video link and you can download the video straight to your computer. Works with entire playlists as well

  • 👍

  • Subscribed to both. Thanks for the reminder and links.
(Also on YT premium so not sure if ads are on free version of YT or not)

    • Confirming there’s Ads if no premium

I just put it on and Tywin Lannister is commentating on lions, haha. That's brilliant. Damn I miss that voice.

how do they make money ?

  • Ausdroid website did a small article on this a couple of weeks ago.
After leaving Fetch and Foxtel, National Geographic has two live YouTube channels

    • It's already linked in the description.

  • Nice one, I've subbd thanks op.

  • I want to AGAIN see the savage kingdom series, looks like its not in playlist?

It's literally on Nat Geo Wild YouTube as I type

  • National Geographic, one of the very few channel that is actually worth watching. Thanks for this post.

  • You did good OP.

  • Very good deal , well done OP

  • Awesome

  • This is an awesome find. Has anyone figured out if there is a Kodi add-on with an epg? That would push this nat geo change over the edge!

    • I've figured a way to get the channels looking like real channels in Kodi. But I feel like I'm missing something. All I seen to get is repeats of the same 4 or 5 "Bear Grylls explores the extreme" episodes over and over.

It's that what everyone else is getting?

  • Wow! Thank you!

  • Great find i like these shows thank you.

  • I didnt realise it wasnt on foxtel anymore Cheers OP

Edit: It’s remaining on Disney+ because it seems they own National Geographic.

  • I am completely ignorant of how National Geographic funds itself, but I am wondering if they expect to make more money by publishing their videos on YouTube instead of a paid-only service

    • Makes you wonder how little for tel pays them for their channel if they choose to put it on YouTube for pretty much free

    • Since 2019, controlling interest has been held by The Walt Disney Company. (Wikipedia)

  • Thanks for sharing. I have been watching National Geographic Wild channel for a few days, it seems to be always the same, and the same tone of voice. Hyenas, wild dogs and lions killing other animals, they need some croc or dingo videos.

From what I can see, it's not a true channel. It seems to be a few programs on repeat. Haven't seen it changed yet, so hopefully soon. Maybe monthly?

      • The same with the two channels, they go in a loop with a really small number of videos
