Shipping kind of kills the deal compared to yesterday. Slightly cheaper here from futu https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/362562014050

You're right. For me it was $14. However, Im not far off the silverwater store. So a 15min drive wont hurt.

Thanks, got it down to $70 using Student Beans.

      • Can you tell me how to do this?

          Here you go.

@xers: thank you. damn haven't been a student for decades. need to check if the primary school kids have edu account

@CoronavirusVaccine: I finished uni in 2014, but they gave me an alumni email account (it just redirects emails to my personal email account) which i have been able to use to sign up to all those student discount websites. Maybe ask at your school/ed centre if they can provide you with an alumni email address?

              • @pichxlonco: You have a good thing, keep it to yourself if you want it to last! Haha

Legend, forgot I had this, ordered!

      • did apply the STUDENTB20 but nothing still shows as 90

        • managed to get the 20 discount but to get another 10% i think you need ebay+

          • @ssd01: Don't think you can apply 2 vouchers to the same order, so it'll be $20 off or 10% off

    • Was just doing a transaction for $84.60 EVO 870 1TB and BANG OOS!! 😭

Product description says EVO 970 NMVe not M.2 SATA. Not sure if product description is messed up or it’s the cheapest Samsung EVO 970 1TB NVMe I’ve seen. Surely I wasn’t the only one who finally clicked on this? I actually wanted a 1TB M.2 SATA - the SATA drives are only Evo 870s but the NVMe you can get in EVO 970, 980 , 980 Pro and 990 Pro iirc. Making this deal extra good, but wasn’t what I wanted and can’t find a Evo 870 M.2 SATA (pretty rare to see these unless for older laptops or mobos??)

I Couldn’t get Studentbeans to work either. So for an extra $15 more than StudentB deal, it’s still a good price. SATA or NVMe.

    • Thanks got one with student beans! 70 bucks

Waiting for Amazon to price match or beat hopefully.

  • go eat a dag of bicks scorptec, I paid $82 for WD SN570 1tb at MSY a few days ago.
<this ssd at scorptec is a good deal>

    • Is this much better than the WD?

      • Only slightly higher performance for slightly cheaper, not a big deal really but if you were making the choice today you'd preference this deal.

  • Sale will continue as next-gen & world fin$ downturn is coming :(

  • Is this good for keeping Switch & Gamecube ROMs library?

    • +1

Way over kill. A regular slow HDD is fine.

      • +2

If you can avoid the shipping fees and C+C then this is prob cheaper then a regular HDD.

      • Thanks. Is this a good deal?

        • +1

Yeah this drive is good for a secondary drive and for game storage but not as good as the 970 Evo though.

        • +1

That's a last-gen drive, as are most of the cheap 1TB drives being sold right now. No point buying it over a current-gen drive which will be a similar price for 2x the speed, as the manufacturing costs have gone down significantly thanks to new advancements.

If you haven't already bought it, then you should definitely spend an extra $9 on this: https://www.bpctech.com.au/product/lnm790x001t-rnnng-lexar-i…

Not that it matters much for ROMs, but may as well get the latest tech for the same price

  • just picked up mine two days ago for $99 at centrecom :(

  • Damn it, literally picked one up from them today after buying it a few days ago

  • What cases do you guys recommend pls? - UGreen and Sinplecom are good, but a bit pricey - same goes for NVMe models. I have mixed experiences with Orico - some came can be OK and others no so good or fail too soon. Cheers.

  • How do you guys swap it out if system is installed on the existing Nvme drive.

Only 1 slot in my motherboard.

Ordered one even though I don't need it.

    This is the way.

    • I have spoken

    • Order first, ask questions later.

  • I'm waiting for Amazon to match this

    • +2

Not gonna happen. Amazon AU hasn't had stock for 2 months. (only available from 3rd party sellers)

  • Is this the PS5 SSD?

    • +3
