12 Months Amazon Prime Membership for 24,000 Points & Get 2,000 Points Back @ Telstra Plus Reward Store

4190

With the upcoming Prime price increase to $79 a year this seems like a good deal if you have a lot of Telstra points and annually sub to Prime.

24000 points for 12 months of prime stacked with the current offer "For every 10,000 points used in a single transaction, receive 1,000 bonus points. Use points, get points before 29 May" so you will get 2000 points back.

Bonus points will be applied to your account within 14 days of making a redemption.

I have stacked multiple years successfully to avoid the price rise, ̶n̶o̶t̶ ̶s̶u̶r̶e̶ ̶i̶f̶ ̶y̶o̶u̶ ̶g̶e̶t̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶b̶o̶n̶u̶s̶ ̶2̶k̶ ̶b̶a̶c̶k̶ ̶o̶n̶ ̶e̶v̶e̶r̶y̶ ̶s̶u̶b̶s̶e̶q̶u̶e̶n̶t̶ ̶p̶u̶r̶c̶h̶a̶s̶e̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶r̶e̶ ̶a̶r̶e̶ ̶n̶o̶ ̶d̶e̶t̶a̶i̶l̶e̶d̶ ̶T̶&̶C̶s̶ ̶I̶ ̶c̶a̶n̶ ̶s̶e̶e̶

EDIT - Have already received 2000 points back 4 times for 4 different transactions so you get points back every time for multiple purchases.

    • My idea is that you have 12months voucher already. So after redeeming it (whenever you choose) you will pay the new fee at the end of voucher usage (12months) or after your current subscription ends.

      Still entitles you to 12months.

I don’t have any points but would be happy to pay 2 years in advance before June to beat the price rise (renewal in Dec). Does anyone know how to do this?

    • Don't think you can buy in advance only on renewal or by redeeming this or similar offer.

  • +1

Thanks, good to get something I actually need vs random junk from Plus points.

  • This is really sucking. It doesnt work. Error code from Amazon.
On chat with Telstra for last 30 mins.

    What a waste of time

    • Keep trying, 30mins now is 12months better off. 20$ saved.

After a pile of failures, finally got it to work on Chrome iOS by clearing browsing data, then entering the promo code on the promo page before signing in.

  • So I get an error when trying to add code.

Might be to do with me being on the free three months from cba MasterCard promo.

Expires next week anyway, so I’ll add it after the cba promo finishes and my account lapses

  • Just minor complaints, I didn't get the point cash back. Is there anything like promo code to be applied, etc?

Edit: Didn't read properly. 14 days after redemptions.

  • Good one, just did… :)

  • Not working for me on multiple different browsers, including safari and chrome on iOS :(

  • +3

i cant seem to redeem the code :/ i have tried chrome, firefox, edge on desktop (and incognito mode) as well as the same on mobile. Any other suggestions? Keep getting this error:

We’re sorry. We’re unable to complete your Prime signup at this time. If you would still like to join Prime you can sign up during checkout.

I have an active Prime membership.

  • How much does 2,000 points worth?

  • 404 on checkout - Safari and Chrome

Edit: 404 with Firefox as well

Have tried Safari on iPhone as well

    1. Page not found.
      Head back to Telstra Plus.

Tried on phone and pc (Edge).

  • Here are all the options I have tried to redeem that code:

    Edge Pc
    Chome Mac
    Safari Mac
    Chrome Incognito Mac
    Safari iOS

    No success yet

Tried following in regular and incognito mode and nothing worked. Not sure what else to try.

    1) Chrome on Android
    2) Chrome on IOS
    3) Safari Browser
    4) Chrome on Windows PC
    5) Edge on Windows PC
    6) Firefox on Windows PC

    • I am in the same boat, nothing works, even cancelled my current subscription and then tried again.

I have completed the following form for my rewards support but no reply yet.

      • I just tried again with Chrome on my Samsung phone and it worked. Second code and got extended till 2025.

  • For those for whom it did/didn't work, do you have OTP enabled or disabled on your Amazon account?

    • The Amazon redemption is not working for me, and I have OTP enabled.

Getting the code from Telstra was fine.

  • Also if it worked, did you have monthly or yearly subscription set up ?

    • I am currently on 2 months of yearly subscription. I was able to stack once successfully with the code until April 2025. Trying to stack the 2nd code rn but it's not working.

  • Does this include Amazon video streaming?

    • Yes, "Amazon Prime membership" is how you get access to "Prime Video"

  • Had the 404 error, tried chat, even they have the error… I sometimes wonder about telstra

  • +2

Wonder if there might be a delay on the back end activating the code between Telstra and Amazon, which would explain why it suddenly works for some people after a few tries. Wouldn't expect anything less from Telstra - they really don't make anything simple and easy.

  • Didn't work in any browser for me but Chrome on Android (Samsung) mobile work first time. Second voucher purchased was redeemed on my mobile straight away without any problems.

    • were the two vouchers any different in pattern?

  • +1

Still not working for me, and I've tried every browser and phone I have.

I'm on chat with Amazon, and they've cancelled my current Prime account, and trying to apply the code, to no avail.

    Telstra and Amazon both useless.

  • Worked on Edge, Windows 11.

Did not work on Chrome or Incognito mode.

    Stacked to Feb'26 now

  • +1

Wondering if perhaps the code format is also contributing to the issues with activation. Can anyone confirm the format of the voucher code?

In the email it is 6 groups of 3 characters separated by spaces, but also includes numbers, letters & hyphens…

Eg. nXX n-X XnX XX- nXX XXn

    • +1

I believe it should be 4-6-6. I tried that still can't get it to work. So frustrating

      • Thanks, at this point I think I'll just wait for the current membership to expire and then see if I can use the voucher… very frustrating.

      • I have the 4-6-6 format and did not work either.

  • I just redeemed by doing a fresh install of firefox

    • Tried that still no luck. Running out of patience

      • Did you stop firefox from bringing across data from your existing browsers? As I stopped it doing that

  • +1

This is so disappointing. Claimed the voucher with Telstra plus. Have tried every single browser under the sun bar Netscape and get same error message as others have seen. Didn't help Telstra sent a faulty code with spaces in it. Worked all that out. But cannot get it to load. Then got on chat with Amazon and he said it won't work as you have existing membership! So he had no idea either. So now I'm stuck with useless code and no benefit. Can anyone help?????

    • I assume you have cleared out the browsers cached application data.

Worked for me on Edge not chrome (which makes no sense), but the sequence was that I was not logged in first. Opened URL, authenticate, then it worked. I didn't have to clear out the browser cache first.

      Adguard was left active.

    • If you have an ios device use safari on it, its the only way i got it to work

  • +2

If the deal is randomly unobtainable - that is, unobtainable for some but not others, with random distribution of the two groups - then should the deal be marked as "unobtainable"?

    • LOL, randomly worked for me, after not working more than 10 times over 2 days with different browsers, cognito and incognito modes…

  • +1

It seems like I can't claim my points because I don't have any active services. What's the cheapest way to get an active service with Telstra?

  • My partner and I have 18000 points. Does anyone know if u can transfer points?

    • You can transfer your Telstra Plus points online to another eligible Telstra Plus account you have access to, if you are the account holder or a full authority representative.

Transfer points between your accounts online
To transfer points to a Telstra Plus membership you don’t have access to, message us using My Telstra app.

  • Redeemed 12-month extension successfully 3 times (renewal date currently 20 Nov 2026)

Trying to do it a 4th time today and getting "We’re sorry. We’re unable to complete your Prime signup at this time. If you would still like to join Prime you can sign up during checkout"

Is there a limit on how far in advance you can prepay?

Will give away the code to friends or family if there is

    • That's the same error message everyone else has received when it didn't work although it should have…

    • Refresh page, it happened on my 2nd go and I got 3 through

  • Super weird! Have tried same voucher code (after removing the spaces) for the last couple of days, using different devices/browsers/clearing cache/signing off all accounts/ etc etc) - to no avail.

Then, jumped on a chat with Amazon (following Telstra's TCs) and the guy couldn't make it work either…

So, during the conversation I decided to try it again (the very same code I'd just given him) - and voila! Worked like a charm…

Don't know if this could help anyone, as can't pinpoint anything specifically (can't remember if used app or browser, for example)… Everything was super casual, with no preparation like cache clearing or account sign offs…

The only difference was having Amazon staff having a (futile) go… So maybe worth a try? I don't know!

If only this helps to give some hope somehow (even though it's the frustrating type one)…

Contacted Telstra support this morning as received same error on multiple browsers and devices. Representative confirmed issue on Telstra side and should be fixed today. Tested now and worked for me. Not sure if that fixes everyone’s issue or just mine. Worth trying again

    • Tried after reading your comment, worked as a Breeze. Thank you!!

After reading the last 2 posts I tried again after numerous failures yesterday and it worked!

We have added 12 Month of Prime membership to your account. Your membership will renew on October 20, 2024. Your membership will renew if your auto renewal is turned on or until you cancel your membership. You can adjust membership settings in Your Account.

  • After reading last two post, I just tried the code again and it worked. Thanks. Telstra must have sorted it on their side.

  • Yay! Finally worked after waiting two full days. Telstra or Amazon must have fixed the issue. Just decided to try out of the blue and it worked. Beauty! Thanks OzBargain!

So in the MyTelstra App "Offers" section locate Amazon 3 or 12 month redemption offer and refer "Things you need to know".

    Refer the second paragraph below!!!

Offer available to Telstra Plus members. Offer ends 30 June 2023. Eligibility criteria apply. Membership voucher codes must be activated with Amazon by 15 February 2025.

You can redeem multiple codes in the Telstra Plus Rewards Store to use or gift to other people.

After 3 months, roll onto standard monthly auto-renewing membership fees for Amazon Prime (currently $6.99/month) unless you change or cancel beforehand. Manage your auto-renewal membership and notification settings in your Amazon Prime account.

  • redeemed and added 2 vouchers just now via https://www.amazon.com.au/prime/promo/landing on iphone safari no issues .
membership has been extended to Apr 2026, not sure if to redeem the remaining 52000 points

  • Where in the offer is the part that you stated ""For every 10,000 points used in a single transaction, receive 1,000 bonus points. Use points, get points before 29 May"" - I cannot see that anywhere.

      Use points. Get points.

For every 10,000 points used in a single transaction, receive 1,000 bonus points. Use points, get points before 29 May. Bonus points will be applied to your account within 14 days of making a redemption and joining Telstra Plus. Offer ends 29 May 2023.

      • Ok I signed out of my account and I could then see that offer. So it seems that offer only comes up when you aren't logged in, so it must be for new members only, not existing. That's a big bummer.

        • Turns up for me when I'm signed in.

Also how could it only apply to new members? Only existing members would have any points as you only accrue points after you join.

          • @pn09: Great point! I have no idea what is happening on my end but I've redeemed it so fingers crossed I get the points back anyway.

  • Thanks OP - just tried it and it worked first time.

Just applied 4 vouchers and extended to November 2027. We use Prime video a fair bit so 22,000 for effectively $80 spend is a good use of Telstra points for us as most of the stuff on there just isn't that useful for us for the points it costs.

  • Has anyone extended past 2027?

    • We have added 12 Month of Prime membership to your account. Your membership will renew on April 14, 2028. Your membership will renew if your auto renewal is turned on or until you cancel your membership. You can adjust membership settings in Your Account.

      • Just did one more to get mine extended out to mid November 2028.

Thanks OP for original deal and cyruslol for confirming it does go out to 2028

  • For the people who have already gotten the 1,000 points per 10,000 spend credited back - how long did it take between ordering and the credit showing up?

It says up to 14 days but wondering if it is taking that long in reality.

    • Mine was 4 days.

      • Thanks mate

  • Reminds me of a few years back when Telstra would give you $30 of "credit" with a $30 prepaid topup and Google accepted that credit as a payment method, I stacked 5 or 6 years of free Youtube Premium before they pulled the pin on it. Good times.

  • I'm 1038 points short of 24,000. So I thought I'd prepay next month's bill by $104, which should give me 1040 points.

But even though I see a credit on my account, I didn't get any points. Which sucks, as my next bill isn't due until after the offer finishes.

    • That's good to know.
I was tempted to do the same, but if prepayments aren't going to stack you any points, I won't

    • +2

Don't forget points take up to 10 days to appear.

      • They just showed up today, 4 days after prepaying my bill.

So for the record, you can buy points by prepaying your next bill - at the rate of 10 points per $1.

Not worth it for all 24,000 points ($2,400), but if like me, you're 1 or 2 thousand points or so short, prepaying your next bill a couple of weeks early might make sense.

    • I've never tried it but the points are based on your spend, not for paying a particular bill. I think those points will appear in the next few days and would be surprised if they dont.

  • Thanks OP, I don't have active service, still managed to add 12 Month of Prime membership to my account. Does anyone know if I'll still get 2000 point back considering I don't have any active service with them? If yes then I can add another 12 months in my account as I'll then have 24000+ points again.

    • Yep, I don't have any active services and got the extra 2000 points. I'm still about 500 points short of being able to buy another 3 month voucher though.

  • Amex Platinum Charge included benefit humblebrag

  • Code finally worked!!

  • Can we apply the voucher code at any time or does it have to be right away

  • whats the cheapest way to earn telstra points?

    • i managed to log in and confirm my details eg ph/email for an extra 2000pts

  • +1

Can anyone please suggest on redeeming the Telstra points while not having the active service?

While trying to redeem the points it says "Unable to process your order, As you do not currently have an active service with Telstra, you will be unable to redeem in Telstra Plus. An active Telstra service is required to reinstate eligibility to redeem. Active services can be created via telstra.com.au."

  • Logged into Telstra plus and I no longer have any points. Used to have tens of thousands. Was there some sort of change at some point?

    • They expire. I've lost a heap of points, due to it using them.

      • Seems like my account doesn't even subscribe to Telstra on points anymore, it's asking me to sign up and I haven't been earning points as usual.

  • Do we have to use the voucher immediately or can wait couple of weeks and use it when you need it ?

    • You can wait if you want to - mine said the voucher expired some time in Feb 2025.

  • Does stacking still work?

    • +1

Yes, mine is not due until 2027!

  • Not expired

    • +1

the 2000 points back expired there was another deal for just the 24k prime this one was more for the 2k returned each purchase.

  • +1

Points for Prime offer has been extended out to 24/08/23 by Telstra and they have not increased the points (24,000) even though Amazon has increased the price of 12 months prime from $59 to $79
