Saw this in my mailbox today — seems like a new bargain website for Coles. Register your details to get $30 worth of free coupons, which can be used to redeem products.

Terms and conditions:

      such as .. buy 1 get 1 free coupons or 20% off something or $1-$2 off certain product..

      which the savings in total added up to $30 ..

      Nothing to be excited but.. savings is savings !

      Because of economy contraction, it is reasonable that business will put out more specials to encourage spending. I am surprised that I haven't seen more campaigns to get people to spend more (as people are likely to draw back during economy downturns). When I was in Taiwan a few weeks ago, the president and premier there were actually on the TV, showing what they bought in the shops to get more people to spend…

    Coles is trying to recreate/revive a discount smkt brand given the disaster they faced when they rebranded Bi-Lo to Coles. This may be a feeder part of that strategy.

        I guess the basic rule on consumerism applies here — they'll charge you how much you are willing to pay for. Apparently there are people who don't care paying more to shop at Coles, and Coles is also happy to make extra margin from these customers. What they are doing now is just to create another venue to harvest the cheapo's, i.e. those who used to shop at Franklins and now at Aldi…

          The way Westfarmers is taking Coles (cutting staff, screwing suppliers even more) they should be able to lower their prices by now!

          Coles has become so cheap with their staff, 34 hours is now considered "full time" because they have to pay more after that. Well that's what my step-mum that works there says anyway :)

    It's not a gift certificate worth $30 it's a "$1 off if you buy 2 jars of coffee" type coupon.. they're commonplace!!

      The coupons are definitely crap - I've thrown mine in the bin already - what a waste of time! I don't think they really offer much savings at all - it's about the same as when those products are on special in their catalogues.

        @Blinda — actually those in NSW got the coupons that can "potentially save them $30" but we all know they are useless. However for those who signed up outside NSW (and forgot to read that this promo is for NSW only), Coles actually send them a free $30 Gift Card, which is far more valuable than the coupons.

        So at the end this is actually an ultimate deal for the non-NSW shoppers…

    NSW got screwed, stupid Coles, who wants 3 cents off home brand cat food past expiry date (no refunds). I want $30 like the ppl who live in other states (I feel sorry for you ppl too living in your boring States… or TERRITORIES) but Coles must really feel sorry for you)
