      Probably an anti-bot measure. It's worth spending. You get more money back from the cards you sell. I also got $5 USD Steam credit from a World of Warships promo, so it's possible to get it without spending a cent.

          https://steamcommunity.com/tradingcards/faq Some games, and the Summer and Winter sales, give you cards. You can then sell them for a few cents. If you sell all the sale cards, you make about $1-2 and you can then buy some cheap game on sale and continue the process. I have made about $20 doing this.

            @Usernames: Not sure if it matters or not, but in the last year? I know Steam doesn't let me sell cards if I have not made a purchase in the last year.

            Otherwise try unlinking, and relinking the account? If that doesn't work, I would contact Fanatical support.

              @[Deactivated]: Finally worked it out. I had to set up Steam Profile in Steam account. Didn’t edit anything other than clicking a green button I stumbled across to set up profile and then click save. Thanks for the deal.

      I had to add money to a Steam account to add friends if I recall correctly. I did that, years ago, and haven't had any such prompts since.

      I also earned a few Steam credits from an SSD purchase, which just sit on my account now for a rainy day.

      That's only for a Steam account with the limited status. Let me guess it's a brand new Steam account?.

      You can't activate the product key into Steam if you haven't bought $5 USD worth of stuff from the Steam store. It's a security thing i think. Once you buy $5 USD of any thing from the Steam store then you will be able to redeem the game key.

      I just redeemed the key on Steam and i didn't have to pay a cent. But my Steam account is years old with many games on it.

        You can activate the key on any account, but, presumably as an anti-bot countermeasure, you can't claim the key from Fanatical with a limited Steam account.

        They give you a key you can redeem on other accounts, but to get the key you need an unlimited Steam account.

    This was a fun game on the switch, know that on the pc it's a true arcade game - it's pretty light, although some of the game modes

    I redeemed the key on Steam. The product activation key redeems in Steam as Hotshot Racing - [Digital] (PRC-restricted). Doesn't PRC stand for People's Republic of China. So according to that the key is only supposed to be sold in China. A bit odd. I seem to be the only one so far to pick up on that.
