I'm not buying from a company called Hardkorr lol

Also nice that they advertise (Home » About Hardkorr) that they still sell to Russia. Not like outdoor gear or power generation has a military application.

    • damn, i have their battery box

Offering a product to an oppressed population allows them to depend less on the regime IMO.

Soldiers have been buying their own equipment for the war, someone could use this to charge a computer for a drone strike on civilians etc.

If people were buying stuff to oppose Putin they would just ban the import. No oppressed population has ever free marketed their way out of oppression, nor is there such a movement in Russia.

        • right.

      • The idea of sanctions is to make the authorities less popular.

      Casual racism

      • ^ Casual ignorance.

    • So they claim that all the stuff is made here in Australia so it's kind of a grey area.

It's not like this stuff isn't able to be bought from China anyway, so is it better the money comes here or goes there? Australia gives aid to Ukraine so arguably it is better it comes here and feeds our coffers than the government of China. But it is still a dual use item that may be helping them to continue their war.

Honestly not sure where to land, my gut says don't sell there, but my brain says perhaps it is better to do so for stuff that is available to them from elsewhere anyway?

    • Solar panels that aren't space-qualified aren't currently on the sanctions list.

But I heard that they are expanding the list of items on the list very soon.
I do see that they haven't updated that page since March 2021 so it's also possible they have voluntarily stopped distribution in Russia.

I've just been informed that Hardkorr won't sell to Commodores with a K.

    • Fun fact: Exports to Russia increased by 7% last month.

  • can i plug this into my phone

    • Not on the current model. I have the 200w version and it came with the previous generation solar inverter that has usb output.

Good deal for a quality product. I wish their 200w panel was on sale.
