    Ryzen 5700G + RTX 3700?

    That’s just silly…

Why would they use a crippled CPU with integrated graphics, on a build with a dedicated graphics card? Plenty of cheaper, more powerful CPU’s that don’t have a pointless integrated GPU.

    • +2

not quite true. If one fine day you do not need the 3070 because you longer are interested in gaming the integrated graphics ensures that you can sell off the 3070 and still use the computer for everyday use pretty fine.

      • +4

Except according to previous deal post, there's no video port on the MB.

      • +1

Yes, but uncle said the CPU is crippled… so it must be a useless one?

        • +6

Far from useless - the 5700G is a great value option if you’re ulooking for built in graphics - but it’s a bizarre paring with this system. Especially if the mobo doesn’t include any video out options, there are better CPUs which are half the price.

          • +1

@UncleRico: So wiithout a graphics card, this computer would be useless because it has no video out?

            • +6

@ram4ram: According by to the info the last time it was posted, yes.

With this mobo, you could essentially never use the integrated graphics. But wil always have a CPU vastly inferior to something like a R5-5600 which is half the price.

              • +1

@UncleRico: Makes no sense (like wtf!), but i'll take your word. Cheers

                • +1

@ram4ram: Would have been a great system for someone looking to do does parts shuffling with the CPU or Graphics card. But as a complete system, that combination with that motherboard is just a recipe for putting a ceiling on the performance of some otherwise good bang for bucks parts.

      • -3

False economy. A cheaper, more powerful CPU would have a longer useful life and leave ample change to purchase a new CPU or graphics card if you ever made the illogical decision to remove the dedicated graphics years later.

    • +3

Yeah, especially considering it doesn't have any video out ports on the mobo.
But considering the price, it's probably fine

      • +1

Agreed. The price is great for the components used. Just makes it all the more baffling why they’ve spec’ed it up that way.

    • +1

      2 Reasons:
      1. Stupid managers/workers.
      2. They got a few pallets of these products super cheap and put this deal together because it was convenient and profitable at the time.

I totally agree with you tho.

  • Would this be good for warzone at 2k?

    • +1

yea should be pretty good for that. should be around 70-80 fps on 1440 Max setting.

    • +1

What FPS is "good"? 60? 144?

      What is 2K? 1080p or 1440p?

      https://www.techspot.com/article/2579-cod-warzone-2-benchmar…

If you're mostly playing CoD, AMD cards tend to perform better.

      • 1440p, looking for 100-120fps

      • -3

Anyone who can math knows 2K should mean 1080p, but just like the idiots who use ROM = Storage, we have the 2K idiots also.
The ideal FPS as reported in a few articles I have read is 120Hz after that it's diminishing returns (unless you are Pro something or other). You will notice a jump from 60Hz to 120Hz as massive change/benefit, but thereafter not so much.

  • +2

5700G is great APU (cpu and gpu combined) for low cost 720P-1080P system. why put it in a system with good GPU?

    • Because it's cheaper than a 5700x. It's also cheaper and faster than a 3700x

      • +1

Twice the price and a fraction of the performance of a Ryzen 5 5600.

        • -1

Twice the price in RRP, not street price. If the 5600 was cheaper, this system would have it.

Also it's not 'a fraction' of the performance of a 5600

          https://www.cpubenchmark.net/compare/4811vs4323/AMD-Ryzen-5-…

Of course this is a synthetic benchmark, in gaming the higher cache of the 5600 would be preferable

          • @greatlamp: Untrue. The 5600 is cheaper every day of the week, with the 5700G usually commanding a premium of 40-50% more cost.

Amazon has the 5600 at $209 Vs $287 for the 5700G.

Anything that performs less than equal to another item, is offering a fraction of the performance.

            • @UncleRico: Ok. Benchmark is there. Since we are being maximum pendants the 5700g outperforms the 5600

              • -1

@greatlamp: Pedants? That’s a bit rich after you just posted and revoked a link to US prices suggesting the 5700G was $188.

Check all the benchmarks - as everyone (including you, as well as proud 5700G owners like myself) knows, the 5600 beats the 5700G in all real world tests due to the extra cache.

Call it pedantry because you’ve been proven wrong if you like, but it’s a fact. Don’t take it so personal…

                • -3

@UncleRico: Not all real world tests. The 5700G would outperform in rendering and video conversion. That's a similar workload to a synthetic benchmark.

And yes, I found your pendantry rude. If the 5600 is indeed cheaper why are they using a 5700g, because they hate profit?

                  • -1

@greatlamp: I can’t explain hence my comment about what an illogical build it was. I literally have no explanation how any systems builder who knew what they were doing (or talking about in a forum) could think that such a configuration made any sense. If Occams Razor were to prevail, I’d suggest the builder either had a parts glut of the 5700g or was an idiot.

I’m sorry you’re so offended by it. Nothing you say will change the fact that the 5700g is neither cheaper, nor more powerful as you have claimed. If the realisation you were citing foreign currencies or isolated synthetic benchmarks has been humbling for you, I am truly sorry…

                    • @UncleRico: In case you find it hard to follow, I linked the benchmark of the 5700g vs 5600, showing they are almost the same in performance, rather than 'a fraction'.

Instead of acknowledging that, you retort with this

Anything that performs less than equal to another item, is offering a fraction of the performance.

Then you claim I am being "a bit rich"

You are a hypocrite, and your fake apology isn't appreciated. Take your own advice and be humble

                      • -1

                        @greatlamp: 99/100 is a fraction. That’s not hypocrisy, that’s fact.

And the 5700g performs considerably worse than 99% of the 5600 overall performance. “Almost as good” by definition means a fraction of “as good” or “equal to”. Language and logic…

You continue to insist the 5700g is cheaper, even after belatedly realising and redacting your claim that it was $188 CPU. I concede to being unable to follow your claim.

You’re welcome to your opinion that the 5700G is a more powerful and cheaper CPU - irrespective of the evidence (that you have posted!) that both are untrue. Confirmation bias can play funny tricks on the mind. But honestly, stop letting it upset you…

  • +1

Sold out. As I expected. Literally if you saw this, you should've snapped it up. The GPU is pretty much 1k.

    • +2

      More like $700 new

      • +2

Well 300 for the rest of the parts is a steal. :D

    • +1

      3070 Ti's are $694

There's going to be a flood of old 8GB GPU stock hitting the market in the next few months

    • 4070's are less than 1k

      • +2

for a entry level desktop… 1k is pretty decent. I was thinking of just snapping it up for lols.

  • Whats the mobo?

    • +2

it would be an in-house design

      • +2

intern crayoned design onto a tissue and then fab by biostar

        • it's 2023… surely they've upgraded to using an etch-a-sketch?

  • I bought one of these 18 months ago, I bought the Intel model instead with an i7 11700F, 3060ti. This was pretty much just after covid which might explain the 5700g CPU ( maybe its the stock they could find for AMD ), at the time it was a good deal for about 2.2k with a non LHR graphics cards.
