Inno3d GeForce RTX 3070 Ti X3 8GB Graphics Card $694 + Delivery @ Umart

920

First time poster - please be gentle.

Decent price for a good card - performance is about 30% slower than the 4070 - seems to be priced in about evenly.

    Price in title please. $694.00

  • +2

Probably a good idea to lost price in title

    • +4

      I knew what you meant

    • +10

I'm thinking they should list price instead.

    • +3

Only muzeeb can lost a price

  • +44

    Too much for 8gb

    • +18

Yeah.. nvidia is said to release a 4060Ti with 16GB in july

      • +4

i wouldn't be terribly shocked if they priced that 16GB variant pretty much identically to the 4070 12GB.

        • +6

I would choose the extra VRAM at the same price.

          • +2

@Jimbuscus: as much as I like the tuf version I can’r justify +$200 premium over the dual model 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️

    • Better than $120 a gb for the 3080

    • everyone says this, I'm considering a 4070 for $999 which seems to be the market price atm

      • +1

        4070's already been 900 before

    • They really did curse the future use of these cards. I've got a 3080 10gb and feel like even that will struggle soon.

      RIP $1200.

      • Fortunately NVidia's texture compression will be enabled for all series and not a 5000 series exclusive as long as NVidia aren't dicks abou… of crap.

        • I hadn't heard about that. Good news if they can pull it off.

  • +26

Good price for performance however the low VRAM limits the usefulness and longevity of this card for the newest games that need more than 8GB. Buyer beware

  • +1

Isn't the 7600/4060/Ti coming out in a month?

    • +28

Theres always something better 'coming next month'…. :)

      • Nothing in Feb, Mar, and May. So not every month and not always at the same tier either. Someone who has waited years might be okay waiting another month for newer tech.

  • +22

So 5 months ago I followed a comments advice here and bought an ex-miner 3070 RTX from eBay. I had my doubts.

Gotta say I'm glad I did, card came in mint condition with pretty box and passed all stress testing without issue.

$430 and nVidia gets nothing, pretty stoked.

Seller was https://www.ebay.com.au/str/junltech for anyone interested. Make sure you pay with PayPay and CC for recourse options if needed.
Used an eBay Plus code at the time to take $80 off and free express shipping.

    • +3

Same, my mate bought a 3070ti like 8 months ago for $550 and half the comments were bitching about it as usual. Still works perfectly fine to this day 😃.

      • +1

Mining cards are fine. I tried mining for a month, most of the time it's undervolting and underclocking the core since there's a point of diminishing returns for the core clocks. The only thing to really stress test is the memory since a lot of miners will overclock the ram and run very aggressive timings.

        • might worth to get someone replace the memory to 16GB XD.

        • You can’t access VRAM timings though?

    • What's with all the negs..

      • +12

        There's resentment to miners.

I can't blame them. They're were the reason for the stupid prices.

        Now it's AI developers.

        • +6

Why's anyone downvoting this guy? Has everyone forgotten that miners were the sole reason for our horriifc prices now? … And Nvidia pivoting to AI isn't helping us either, regardless of whether you like AI or don't.

          • +1

            @Grazz989:

            Why's anyone downvoting this guy?

Salty ex-miners and crypto bros taking offence by association.

        • I got ChatGPT to write a poem to argue with you #outsourcing

          "AI developers work with code,
Their expertise is in the software mode,
The hardware they use is important too,
But expensive GPUs aren't their fault, it's true.

The demand for gaming and crypto mining,
Has caused GPU prices to be climbing,
But AI developers shouldn't be blamed,
For the cost of hardware, it's not their game.

They work hard to create algorithms great,
And make sure their models don't overheat,
          So don't hold them accountable,
For the high price of hardware that's unaffordable. "

        Miners and low Vram

    • Thank you for your feedback :)

    • As long as it is a miner that knows what they are doing they will generally have underclocked the card so they are usually in pretty good condition from them, would definitely buy from a miner over an ex gamers card.

    • +4

$430 and nVidia gets nothing, pretty stoked.

Technically they got you to avoid buying a competitor's card.

    • +1

Seller was https://www.ebay.com.au/str/junltech for anyone interested. Make sure you pay with PayPay and CC for recourse options if needed.

It looks like they've sold off their entire stock of RTX 3070s or other higher-end GPUs because all that's left on his store page are sh*tty RTX 3060 Tis, RX 5700 XTs and RX 580s. I mean they're fine for 1080p gaming but not much else and they're not very future-proof buys.

      • fine for 1080p gaming

I game fine on an UW 1440p with my 2060S and I also have a second UW 1080p monitor. Pretty sure those cards will do more than just 1080p

  • +10

Better to spend the extra $200 and get the 4070 with 12gb of VRAM

  • +7

Jacket Man fleecing all the early adopters hard

4060 Ti 16GB will be the current gen 3060 12GB

Then comes the 4070 Super 16GB, uncrippled 4080 Ti and real TITAN class 4090 Ti

    • +1

All of those are going to be 20-30% more expensive than their previous gen parts.

    • +1

You sure the 4070S will be 16GB?

I'm surprised the 4060TI is going to be 16GB, when the 4070 is only 12GB.

      What a mess it is.

      • It seems silly but hey - it's Nvidia after all. Look at the 12GB RTX 3060 when Nvidia had released, at the same time, the 8GB RTX 3070 and 10GB RTX 3080. Wouldn't be surprised if it happens again.

    • The difference between 4090 and 4080 is higher than between most Titans and one-level lower cards like xx80ti. 1080ti and 2080ti were very close to titans but much cheaper.

Many 40xx cards are questionable, but 4090 is hard to complain about.

  • +3

For anyone rocking a Dan A4 case, this is one of the best spec cards that will fit in the case.
I was holding out for this card to drop for a long time but it was out of stock for months and I ended up with a non Ti model.

    • I have a Dan A4 and waiting for Inno3D 4070 Twin X2. Who knows when it will be under $800.

How is the fit for this one?

      • Sorry I meant that I went with a different 3070 altogether.

Here's a Reddit thread with some photos of this in an A4.

    • Managed to fit a Asus 3080 tuf. This case is so good!!

  • +4

It's funny how the 1080 ti was 11gb but the 3070 ti is 8gb.

    • +4

      Yeah massive joke on us

      • +1

        My R9 390X (from 2015) was 8GB

    • Well one ends with an 80 and another ends with a 70.

    • I'm not laughing :'(

    • its funny how one sh*t game needs too much VRAM and people go nuts and now saying thats the norm

  • +7

Not worth it at $700. Skip

  • Recently sold my used RTX 3070 (non ti) for $590 on ebay for a R7900XT.

HODL for AMD mid tier cards

  • Interesting comparison here. 4090 vs 4090 Ti (up coming) will be only 13%

    https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/geforce-rtx-4090-ti.c3…

More side by side comparison here as well:

https://www.wepc.com/gpu/compare/rtx-4090-ti-vs-4090/ (somewhere in the middle of the page)

    • Still better than the 3090 vs 3090ti, or the 3080 vs the (other) 3080 vs the 3080ti. Funnily enough the 3080 12gb and 3080ti are matched in performance+vram. Nvidia really milked that one die really hard.

    • +1

I’m surprised TPU have a specs page for an unannounced GPU, without at least making things extremely clear at the top of the page.

WEPC have no real information, purely rumours.

  • I've got a 2070 super on water currently but I reckon I'll be looking for an upgrade soon, seems the GPU market is much more nuanced these days then it was some time ago haha

  • +1

3070ti has the performance of high-epic settings for 1440p most games IF it has 12Gb VRAM. Skip the 8Gb 3070ti if that’s your desired setting.

  • But 8gb already meam this card going to struggle in the titles from brand new. Don't do it

  • Waiting for a 6090 sub $1k , c'mon recession

  • +4

If youre all gonna call out the 8GB vram, just call out nvidia and be done with them. Go AMD if you want decent vram.

One way or the other youre sacrificing something.

    Ray tracing or raw performance.
If you want both youre sacrificing your wallet.

    • -2

VRAM isnt that big of an issue, it was like 3-4 dumb, unoptimized triple a games that got everyone panicking for no reason

some of those games have already been patched to use less but they wont mention that.

      • Agreed but that's now. There's no way a card can be $700 and not last at least 2 years.

      • bruh, 1080ti that was released ages ago was 11 Gigs
no reason for cashvidia to release 8 gig card , and you forget, they targeted 1440 p with this card, not 1080p

  • There's no way I'd buy a GPU with 8GB RAM unless you play eSports titles.

  • about half of what i paid for my evga 3070 Ti

  • -1

    Hodl?

    • +1

      HODL!

  • I mean it's alright, I just find the 3070 ti to be the ugly duckling of the Ampere gen (excluding the 3060 8GB.)

  • I purchased a 2070 Super for around $630 several years ago just before the 3000 series cards became available. This card is about 35% faster for a little bit more in cost, so not too bad, but tech is meant to get cheaper over time.

Is this was a 3080 for $700 I would probably buy though. A 3080 is at least 60% faster than my current card.

  • So the consensus is spend another $200 for
    - 16GB and or a:
    - 3070ti / 3090 / 4070?

Could upgrade my 2060s before tax time if it was worthwhile, prefer MSI.

    • 4070ti is a very good card if you can get it for a decent price - still bit low on VRAM

      • Cheers sounds ok, $800 or something would be fine and could probably sell my old one for $300 at least.

So probably 12-15GB be the go?

        • ideally 16 but only few games need that much, one would image they are poorly optimised
or go with AMD if you dont need ray tracing or VR

          • @botchie: Yeah don't play anything too fancy, bit of Forza Horizon 5 (pretty good fps when tweak the settings 100-120 fps @ 1440p, 165hz)

  • Avoid this retailer like the plague. Their warranty service is garbage. Sold me a 4080 with fans, memory and clock speeds issues and have kept my card for over 2 weeks now trying to "replicate" the issues clearly seen on GPUZ logs.
Now they're sending it to Gigabyte without my permission. AVOID.

    • Giving you the benefit of the doubt that you're not a sockpuppet who just created a brand new account to post this

      @notaccel
      @VoidIvory

Can you check for any active RMA's on a Gigabyte 4080 card as described above?

Sounds like Gigabyte QC issues but would be interested to hear if standard Umart/MSY practice is to inspect and if no faults found matching what the customer has reported, you then send to the manufacturer for further inspection?

      • +1

I am aware of the case @Avoidatallcost11is referring to.

It's not something I am at liberty to discuss over Ozbargain.

        • Thanks for confirming it is a legit grievance

We await the next update from @Avoidatallcost11

          • +1

@Look Up: @Avoidatallcost11 has been emailed by me informing him of the credit (and refund or replacement) options.

            • @notaccel: Appreciate the update

Bookmarked for future reference re: good RMA outcomes

    • I personally do think UMart warranty is on the bad side, they are slow, I need to push them to make next move or chase up, but at least they have done what's right (with a excessive amount of time so they kinda suck), so I am not defending them by any means.

Sold me a 4080 with fans, memory and clock speeds issues

What issue? photo/video of the issue?

kept my card for over 2 weeks now trying to "replicate" the issues clearly seen on GPUZ logs

evidence? note this have to be a photo or video clearly displaying the issue, rather than a text document that can be edited at any time.

Now they're sending it to Gigabyte without my permission

What do you want to achieve by stopping umart make the next move to help you chase manufacturer warranty?

From what I can get out from your own sentence, you have no evidence to show us, this account is made 3 hours ago, umart claim they tried to replicate the issue, and now sending the card to manufacturer to get a solution, yet you seems to be stopping them(why?).

Not saying you have done this, but I hope it's not like you trying to get rid of the card by pretending a issue which don't exist or not caused by the GPU itself ,and force them to give straight refund before manufacture issue no-fault-found document..

      • if I have to take a guess, maybe it's something like: "Oh my new 4080 don't perform well in games, it's not running very hard and have low utilization, it doesn't even run to its power budget"

If this is the case, then that would suggest you'll need to update your CPU/RAM.

  • Remember guys, 4000 series and miners will make the prices of new and old gpus 'PLUMMET' AHAHAHAHAH. jeezus, glad I bought my used rx 6800 for $500, and i was 'crazy'
