  • My latest XSX bought from Target in July 2021 the controller is borked, the stick drifts up and the left shoulder button has stopped working. How are you meant to get Microsoft to replace it? Their online forms say it is under warranty but there's no way to initiate a return. These things feel too expensive to just take the L.

Doubt its still under warranty if you bought it in July 2021. Controller bundled with the console has a 1 year warranty, even though the XSX console itself has a 2 year warranty.

You can check if its still under warranty and initiate a warranty claim via this link,
      https://account.microsoft.com/devices/

      • It's the controller that came with the console, so might be considered part of the console. That's the page I did visit, I put in the controller serial number and it said it's under warranty, but clicking through the prompts doesn't bring up a return label or anything just a message about nothing doing.

        • Once you've made a claim for warranty, you should receive an email with confirmation of warranty. Confirm it, shortly after that they will send you another email with return label to Sydney, I think the name is quantum technology or some bs. Return and you should receive another one in about 3 weeks. Yes Microsoft service stinks but it is what it is

    • The drift might be fixed with a clean, or perhaps setting a slight deadzone will help. The shoulder button usually brakes because a small plastic arm inside snaps off - you can buy replacement shoulder pieces for a couple dollars through AliExpress

  • Was a great price .

I really feel like the ACCC should start clamping down on this price following from Amazon, like it's great and all, but they shouldn't be allowed to just temporary drop prices to compete with someone and then put their prices straight back up afterwards.

    • Couldn't you argue that's the exact same thing as price matching lol

      • Yeah, I don't think that should be allowed either, really. Like, it just encourages business to have higher prices for those who will cop it.

We should really be striving for the lowest prices in general, not just for those who know.

        • +1

You cant tell shops they cant lower their price when they want to. That's just crazy.

    • +2

They are not temporarily dropping prices. Check the seller. It is now gamesmen bec Amazon’s $52.50 stock has ran out.

  • Looking forward if another one of these deals comes up
