  • Cor blimey, this looks alright.

  • 6hrs and 20min to left to grab this deal!

Bought one of these for bf about 2-3 months ago for $800 from Chinatown, at this price it's a steal.

Don't know if this got fixed but this laptop had major overheating issues at release that would result in massive CPU throttling. While on paper the specs are pretty decent for gaming (at least they were), the laptop can't handle an intense load for more than 10-15 mins or so.

  • To buy or not to buy… Also if there is shipping should include in title :) I wonder if there are any COTD bonus discount voucher things too.

    • pay by your phone and get a further 5% off?

    Pretty old specs on this…

But remember there is SCOOPONLOCAL (found from the G9x deal) which I tried and it works! Minus around $90

Updated to include coupon code… Came out at $519.10 delivered to me but might be less for others not in a regional area.

      • Ordered! Thanks for the post + code.

      • Might be a bit aside the point now that the coupon code is dead, but it's looking like the HD is actually 750GB…

Still pretty happy, ordered while the code was still working, came out to be exactly $519.10 delivered to Sydney metro as indicated by OP

        cheers!

i have this , pretty sweet. don't game, just use it for everything else (other than gaming). looks great, feels great, isn't too heavy for its size, screen is really nice.

    • Why not gaming, read some reviews that said its ok for gaming but the screen being a bit dark and hence not so good for viewing movies with

      • A 520M is not 'ok' for gaming, it is the absolute bare minimum. Are you sure you aren't confused with reviews of the Acer Aspire TimelineX 5830 featuring the 540M instead of the 520M?

        • +1

even the 540M is bordering on mediocre

    • because i don't game on PCs, that simple. I also watch a lot of shows/movies on it, don't find it too dark (though i have perfect vision so……)

  • Does this computer support Mobile Broadband ie shoving a Telstra Next G dongle in the side.I just read a review from the US and it says it doesnt support mobile broadband .??

    • +1

I have the 14" model. It supports USB dongle no problem. I'd imagine the review you read is referring to an internal mobile broadband card (i.e. where you insert a sim directly into a slot somewhere on the laptop).

I think if it was under $500 I would definitely get it :)

  • It looks thin, but weight 2.49kg

  • the code wont work for me…?
    help??

    • me too

      • me 3. Code not working :(

  • the coupon code invalid now
