Decent studio monitor speakers, especially for their price. Not the cheapest but worth considering if you're after a budget monitor setup.

Price is for the black model only.

  • Looking to make an Edifier purchase as my Logitech speakers are dying. How do these compare to 1280s I always see recommended?

    • +1

Quite different use cases for both. The 1280 is a bookshelf speaker and these are monitor speakers. Have a look here: https://www.gadgetreview.com/bookshelf-vs-monitor-speakers to determine which suits your needs more.

      • These are a more sterile, uniform sounding speaker designed for producing music. while they are going to do general playback well, most people prefer speakers that have a little colour/shaping of the sound to make it more palatable and not as harsh/fatiguing to listen to for long periods.

nothing wrong with using monitors but yeah just be aware they aren't for everyone.

    • I have the Edifier R1280DBs (updated model with sub out port) connected to a sub, and they sound so good to me. Gaming, movies, music. Lots of connectivity options. I've looked at upgrading them, but I can't find another active speaker with same form factor (for desktop use), and similar connection options. The KEF LSX II are great, but there's an almost $2000 difference between them. I don't think the sound quality jump is worth it for that much money.

  • I got a Bose companion 3 ii setup now, would those be more powerful/ clearer?

    Thank you!

P.s. I love the Bose sound stage

  • Are these good for PC speakers? Or are there better options for similar money?
