Beware, while these iPads have USB-C, it is slowwwww. As in USB 2.0 slow.

Also first gen Apple Pencil rather than than the much more capable AP2.

I wouldn’t worry about the usb speed too much. It’s not really used for anything other than charging when it all comes down to it.

Anyway, the 64Gb is the biggest issue with this. The 15% discount makes it more attractive than RRP, where one might as well pay not much more for an M1 Air.

Or you could go the ninth gen iPad for $439. Practically the same iPad, just an older A13 SOC, which still has a bit of grunt compared with competitor products.

      • I do wonder how well (or not) this model has sold since release. It’s priced too close to the M1 Air to be considered good value, especially as you say the 9th gen is similarly capable to this one and considerably more affordable for those just seeking an entry level iPad.

        • Yeh, I purchased the 9th gen in Jan for kids school BYOD.
I see 10th gen as a market test product with first landscape mode camera set up and then introduce HomePod with smart connector.
It will then out sell the Pixel Tablet

    • …. Are you suggesting USB-C is slower than lighting?

      • +2

On this ipad, same as lightning, 480mbps.

Air and Mini i think are 10gbps and Pro models are TB, so 40gbps

        • Ah thanks, what a mess crApple…

Still not worth it at this price , 30% off maybe good

Agreed even at this price might as well pay a bit more and get an iPad Air M1 simply better in every aspect
