$100 Bonus for Accepting First $1,000 Payment through EFTPOS Air within 30 Days of Approval @ Westpac

180

Small businesses and side hustlers this deal is for you.

Finally we have a way for your iPhone or iPad to take payment over NFC without the need for hardware.

Westpac have teamed up with Tyro to introduce introduced EFTPOS Air - allowing you to accept such payments. Charging a flat rate of 1.4% is pretty competitive IMO.

Deal is you get $100 back for accepting your first $1,000 through the app - Must be within 30 days of merchant facility approval between 17 May and 16 September 2023.

Downside is if you're operating as a partnership or trust you're not eligible.

    1.4% is a deal? Lol

Yes - Square charges 1.6%-1.9% and you still need to buy hardware

Tyro charges 1.4% and needs hardware

      • Why tyro needs hardware? Didnt you say westpac and tyro now no longer need hardware?

        https://eftm.com/2023/05/apple-introduces-tap-to-pay-on-ipho…

Perhaps tyro dont give $100 as part of the original deal

      • To be fair, Square doesn't need hardware now either for a month or so, I got notified and have used it on my Galaxy S 22 and taken payment directly with a card placed against the back of my phone. It was 1.9% and can go to 1.6% as you said. Was going to look into all this with Westpac but since Square does theirs now directly and I hardly ever take payments like this anyway (mostly use PayID or cash), haven't been bothered.

Yeah, everyone laughed at me when I started wrapping my iphone in aluminium foil.
Ha, the jokes on you now, no "accidental" transactions hitting MY account while I'm standing on the train/tram! 😜

Phones require you unlock it for payment.

Is it shitty el-cheapo Ozbargain standard foil, or high quality Glad alfoil. How many layers you using? Can never be too careful.

      • Same stuff I use for my head, its good enough to keep the voices out….

Good to see bringing back merchant facillities to own Australian institutions. The CBA deal is also worth considering.

I was interested in replacing my current eftpos terminal with Eftpos Air, then i called and found out the MOTO(manual processing over the phone) is not available with Eftpos Air at the moment.

I called about a month ago. So if you need MOTO, call them up and find out if its available now before signing up.

So $14 to transfer $1000 to yourself and you get $100 bonus? Is this correct?

    • +1

      Yep

      • +1

        And you get points?

        • Couldn't see why not - but that's more to do with the card provider rather than the merchant facility.

          • @bemybubble: Jack D. keeps his commission on chargebacks.
Would you expect better from above?

Could you do the refund of your payment? What's the fee?

Just noticed to open an everyday business account you need to go to a branch.
Not one within 100km of me:)

Westpac have teamed up with Tyro to introduce EFTPOS Air

That is not correct - they are competing products both using Apple's tap to pay for iphone/IOS

I stand corrected. I think because I thought Westpac had taken over tyro but that fell through. Misread

Finally we have a way for your iPhone or iPad to take payment over NFC without the need for hardware.

It's not just for Apple devices. Works with Android also.

  • The Tyro Tap to Pay on iPhone offer through Telstra is better than Westpac. There's no fees on the first $15k so you'll save $210 and then it's still 1.4%.
