    • I got the "dispatched" email yesterday at 2:30pm and this morning the Tracking Email from AusPost at 8:00am. Tracking: 21/08/12 06:54 On board with driver for delivery today…

It just arrived 5 mins ago as I was typing and my Amazon Technics came with it (coincidently).

Order dispatch email confirmation received today.. Auspost tracking number provided.

Status in My Account also states: Dispatched.

  • Dispatched =)

At least it got sent out on Monday, so I know I'll definitely have it by the end of the week. Sucks when things are sent out on Thurs/Fri and you don't get it till the following week lol.

Got mine a few moments ago and very impressed by the sound quality.. I had someone talking next to me with the earphones in, but no music and all I heard was a very distant heavily muffled speech.. That said, the sound quality (to me) is excellent with plenty of bass and heaps of volume.. I only had to have them on 1/3 of max volume and that was enough for me..

For $40.. awesome awesome value :) thanks COTD :)

Edit: interesting to note that these were sourced from the US, as the warranty certificate is for US/Canada.. not that it matters but it's a nice two finger gesture to Pioneer Aus :) Well done COTD for going around the rip off local distributors :)

    • I'm so jealous of you Melbourne people… i still have to wait 2 days.

Thanks for sharing your experience thou.

      • Usually it's the other way.. whenever I order stuff online I have to wait days for it to turn up from sydney.. nice to get one back :)

Am absolutely loving these phones.. I'm hearing stuff in music that was never there before..

I just got mine as well.

I am happy with the SQ. It has good ranges and for $39, an absolute steal.

This is my first noise cancelling headphone, so can't compare, but, whilst it doesn't block out voice or the odd noise, it is good for constant sounds (jet engines, nagging gf, etc).

EDIT: Can hear a faint his - but that's either me, The Stone Roses or the headphones.

Not a big deal - it sounds better than those $299 Beats headphones everyone has and that makes me very happy.

      Thanks, CoTD.

  • Anyone miss out? I'll sell you mine, not a huge fan. It was an impulse buy, I don't need noise cancelling, I just need good in ear earphones.

    • Hi, I'll buy them. email <myusername>@gmail.com

  • I am really happy with the earphones. Very good SQ with the added bonus of noise cancelling.

Some small EQ adjustment in my sound player and paired with some Comply Tips and the quality is excellent.

Glad I purchased, it was a great buy.

  • The sound quality is above normal but not the best out there. Noise cancellation is what I have bought it for use during flight.

I didn't notice the noise around my work place until I put it on…

    • LOL, I have also tried it while driving my GOLF GTI and have noticed an instant reduction in engine's noise.

  • +1

QQQ how about a deal on the GoPRO??

  • +2

is it meant to have a hissing noise when the noise cancelling thing is on?
this is the first i got of these type
    thanks

  • anyone recieve their headphones in sydney?

    • +1

My auspost tracking still says in Vic for the past 2 days.

      • Yea I have the same status.

      • Same here too. Dunno if it's AusPost's dodgy tracking system playing up or it hasn't been sent yet.

      • Same.

For all the guys that have received their headphones, could you do us a favour and check your order status on the Auspost website? Let's hope it says the same thing as us…so I know I'll actually have a chance at getting it by the end of the week.

      • i think you'll find that they're probably on a truck between Melb & Syd and tracking won't update until they've been scanned in.. that said, i'd expect them to either turn up tomorrow or friday (just as a wild guess)… auspost tracking is notoriously bad, as you can get the item delivered and it still says that the manifest has been received..

        • I live on the Gold Coast. Ordered last Thursday night. Auspost site continuously displayed shipping manifest received, until this morning (1 week later) when the info has changed to ONBOARD WITH DRIVER. Hope I get them today.

        • Ordered mine on 17th (very early am)
Just had mine delivered (Sunshine Coast- Qld)

mine also appeared on website onboard with driver today

not bad for $40… certainly glad i didn't pay anymore (bought for long flights mostly…see how i go :)

I just received mine. When the NC is turned on, there is a fairly loud hiss. I'm not sure if this is supposed to be as designed or flawed. I have another pair of philips on ear NC headphones and when the NC is turned on those, it is pretty silent.

So far, I'm a bit disappointed actually with the sound quality. I'll be jumping on a long distance flight next week so I'll give these a go and see how it performs with the NC circuitry. The main purpose of this purchase was the size compared to headphones. But for a supposed RRP of $200 I probably wouldn't buy them. $40? Is a tough judgment call…

  • got mine delivered like 5mins ago…thanks QQQ!

  • +1

Yes, I agree, it's quite a loud hissing sound.
though cheap for $40, the hissing sound can be heard when the music is soft, not only when there is no music

    is it a flaw?

    • yeah i have the same thing.. not a pain but if it is a flaw i want fixed!

      • no got it too. i think thats how it is?

      • +2

I'm starting to think that it more "Noise Replacement" than "Noise Cancelling".. reading foggy10 it doesn't seem right..

      • Not overly impressed with the sound quality or the noise cancelling feature, which doesn't appear to work. The hissing is already annoying me. Thought mine was faulty.

  • This was a bit of an impluse purchase for me.
I spend ~180 minutes travelling to uni and back everyday so I've invested in the M2's (also posted on OzBargain recently) instead.

If anyone is interested, I'd be happy to sell these to an OzBargainer from Adelaide at cost-price ($40). Brand new, unopened. PM if interested.

    • +2

      They're actually $39.95…

You're trying to pull a fast one for 5 cents aren't you? :P

      • Mine were $39.96, so I think we're looking at a 4c profit.
        Good OzBargainer

  • Received mine and just tried at the office- not regretting the $40 spent. A bit of hissing can be heard but i believe this is unavoidable even in bose and sennheinser. I will be more than happy to hear the hissing sound than other annoying noise at the plane/train/office.

Some hisses/electric static noise can be heard the first few seconds when it switches from off to on. Tried to turn it on before putting on your ears will help?

Money well spent. But for RRP listed at $200? no way.

    • Received mine today(sydney), i own the Bose QC15 and if i compare them "side by side" i must say that the Bose has a more ….noticeable noise cancelling, even with voices and other non repetitive sounds. I haven't tried the Pioneer on a flight yet but i noticed that they do a great job with car and boat motor sounds. when noise cancelling is on and no music is playing the hiss from the Pioneer is much louder than my Bose's but you can hardly notice it when sound is playing. I think that the sound from Pioneer(in ear)is louder than the Bose.
For $39.36 i'm extremely happy with this product!

  • Okay guys, apart from the hissing sound….how's the actual sound quality??

Is it like a miniature version of the ATH-M50s?

    • I feel it is little differences to what i normally listen with.

  • Sydney-based, mine arived today, but can't check till I get home.
Just in time for long haul flight next week.
Slight hiss over engine drone has to be favourable

  • I received mine today. Austpost contractors can go die, but that's another story.

I've got the quiet hiss sound too when no sound is playing, the noise cancelling works alright. Sound quality is good. It's not bad for $40, plus it comes with the 2 prong adapter for use on aircraft!

  • +1

Reveived mine today as well. Tested it out on the train and at work. Dont really like the noise cancelling feature with the hissing. The sound quality IMO is pretty average. IMO the MEElectronics M6 earphones are better in quality and does a good job concealing outside sound.

  • Not to be harsh or anything, it's great for the price, but I wouldn't pay $199RRP for it lol.

  • Going to catch my flight to sydney now only to discover I havnt had the silencer switched off since I got and tested them and now the battery is flat. I will never know if these truly cancelled outside plane engine sounds…

    • Just buy an overpriced AAA battery at duty free lol

      • +1

Will be cheaper to buy new earphones!!

    • when exactly did you get them? cause Pioneer claims that one battery last for 120 hours= 5 full days. the deal went online on the 16 last week, and i don't think anyone got them before last Monday, that means that your battery shouldn't be flat yet :P

      • Got it Tuesday . Dead Friday 6pm. RIP

  • +1

The package states the battery provided is for testing only. Maybe to cut costs. Anyways not really sure what the hype over these earphones were.

    • +1

      cheap with basic noise cancelling!

  • +2

Mine just went through the wash :(

  • hey

got mine but cant hear any diffrence when noise canceling on or off, maybe mine faulty?

    • Have you tried a fresh battery? Also, NC is mainly effective against constant, uniform noise, such as engine hum on an airplane or train etc. It is much less capable of cancelling random, abrupt noise.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that your results may vary depending on your expectations and also the sonic environment you are in.

  • I tried mine on the train, works well for me! Cuts out the drone of the engines, but you still hear sounds around you (although reduced)

  • +1

The level of hissing is determined by the listeners age.. I'm nearing 40, so for me, I don't get to hear any hissing. but I'd imagine someone half my age would hear it.. Just like my wife can hear buzzing of electronic devices (not, not that sort of buzzing either) whereas i'm deaf to it..
