  • SuperCharge gold.
Had one last 9 years, Eastern batteries Botany rd told me it was their record for longevity.

Huh, my supercharge gold lasted 3.5 years went just after warranty. I've had an Exide red top last 4.5 but with batteries YMMV. In my experience the century Australian made last the longest, but always different factors that affect a batteries lifespan.

    • Was the car a daily driver? Keep inside or outside? That's a very very long life for a car battery

We were most impressed with it.
Originally bought for a ford corsair 2.4l then i put it in a BA 6cyl falcon, it just kept going, eventually it started to crank slower and slower until I drove it to eastern batteries where it was tested and it's cranking capacity had dropped down to about 200.
Both cars were regular every day drivers.
Most likely a rarity just a one off although I think they were made better back then ( I think I bought it in 2004)

          That's incredible

Great price and warranty was too easy. They just chucked a tester on it then replaced it.

Supercharge battery from auto one lasted only 6 months and they took the battery for testing for 3 days which defeats the whole purpose of warranty, then they lost it.

    • Last time i got the battery they would not install it. Is it different form different costco?

      • No they won't install at Costco

      • If you're not capable of the install yourself, then just get your battery changed when you get your car serviced (you can usually tell when the battery is on the way out by the reduced starting speed) - your mechanic will happily source and install.

        • Probably pay full price (perhaps with mark up as well) if getting mechanic to source.

@delfredo: Of course, if you can't do it yourself then it's going to cost you more money - that's how the world works 👍

  • If anyone can get a photo of the prices that would be great.

  • I’ve had good experiences with supercharge gold… they might be 20%off at autobarn at the moment.

Does anyone know how long it takes to charge the battery after starting the car? Currently doing a lot of short trips at the moment.

    • 10-15 mins I think.

    • Depends on battery size, alternator etc. But yeah, 15 minutes generally enough. If you fully drain the battery I'd generally try to run it 25-30.

    • Buy a charger for home. It will pay for itself to extend the life of your battery

      • How often would you charge at home?

  • What is the price?

    • How long is a piece of string?

    • 25% off what ever you were going to pay.
