Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol M32 with Free Komplete 14 Select, $199 Delivered (Usually $348.50) @ Native-Instruments.com

440

Free Komplete 14 Select with M32 MIDI controller. Komplete 14 Select is usually $299 (currently $149.50 on sale), effectively making the M32 keyboard $50 or free if you use advanced Ozbargain reasoning.

The M32 keys are small but Native Instruments make good stuff.
Komplete 14 Select has a lot to offer sound-wise. I just bought it by itself and should have got it with the M32 for an extra $50.

Unsure if other, cheaper vendors of the M32 come with the free Komplete Select 14. Recommend asking the vendor if you decide to go that way.

From the NI site:
Komplete Kontrol M32 - has everything you could ask for when making music. Its 32 great-feeling keys not only give you great playability, but also a compact way to express your creativity. Combined with innovative software, Smart Play features, and seamless integration, you get intuitive control over all your instruments, effects, loops and samples – directly from your keyboard.
For a limited time, the M32 keyboard comes with

KOMPLETE 14 SELECT – all of our essential instruments, studio effects, sounds, and Expansions in one place. It’s everything you need to kick off your tracks and get them sounding release-ready. Including MONARK, MASSIVE, ETHEREAL EARTH, HYBRID KEYS, RETRO MACHINES MK2, VINTAGE ORGANS, and DRUMLAB, plus SOLID BUS COMP, RAUM, REPLIKA, and much more.

Thanks OP, ordered. Dad gets to use the VSTs, 1 year old gets exposed to keys. A win-win!

  • Unrelated, but does anyone know how the Komplete upgrades work?

If I have Komplete 13 Collector's Edition, but upgrade to, say, Komplete 14 Standard - do I still keep the version 13 products that aren't in the upgrade? Do I then lose Collector's Edition status for future upgrades?

    • +2

You will still have the 13 collectors licence - if you pay for an upgrade you will also have an upgrade licence to whatever.
When you wanted to upgrade again you would upgrade from your 13 licence if yo wanted to go for a higher than basic upgrade.
Reasoning - Fairly sure theres no maximum version you can upgrade from - eg I've got Komplete 8 ultimate and thinking i'll upgrade this year to 14 ultimate during black fridays half price sales.

Thought this had something to do with Mortal Kombat!

Possibly $179 for eBay Plus members with the $20 off $150 promo:

…and it also includes the Komplete 14 Select software:

"Purchase Komplete Kontrol M32, get Komplete 14 Select FREE. Valid until 6th of July or while stocks last"

    • Boom! Good stuff! I saw a cheaper ebay (~$190) listing last night too but couldnt find it today when posting

Lots of value here. Usually the bundled software with controllers is really un-useful stuff to tease you and coax you into buying more plugins, but I use a lot of these very commonly. Monark is a great mono, and Drumlab is a really cool 'inspiration factory' by combining electronic and acoustic drums.

Ableton Live Lite sucks though, but everyone knows half the joke of these budget controllers is to get you to become frustrated and just buy a full Ableton Live license. Obviously just use Reaper.

Also goes without saying that for people who don't love mini-keys this one won't be a fun tactile experience. I remember testing it and finding it very small.

    • Can definitely vouch to the usefulness of their software. having it come at no extra cost, comparing it to other similar software, is a huge savings.

FWIW, Native Instruments have always been amazing to deal with, going above and beyond, even for their older products. I purchased their Maschine MK1 back in 2012 (maybe 2013?), and last year, after not having seen it since an interstate move a couple of years ago, stumbled across it and it's software installation CDs in a storage box. I couldn't for the life of me remember the email I'd used to register the software that came with it, and even though it is long gone from their line-up of awesome music making shit, it was still being supported by them and they were happy to work with me and figure it all out based on the very vague information I was able to provide and have the keys attached to a new email address.

If the build quality of the M32 is anything like the Maschine MK1, it can take a beating and a splashing and keep on going for many, many years.

  • I already have a decent Kontakt plan, just don't have the controller. The only controller I use is the Akai Fire Pro for FL Studio. Is there value in me getting this just for the keyboard controller?

    • Nah, I recommend you get a kontroller.

    • +2

I would probably shop around for a midi keyboard if you don't need the software in this deal.
I don't have an NI keyboard and Kontakt works fine with my Nektar Impact GXP88.

FWIW I went from a Nektar Impact LX25+, which I bought to try both pads and key playing out….to wanting more of both! - so I bought a used Maschine Mk2 for more pads and the GXP88 for more keys.

I was surprised how much I enjoy playing on keyboard keys and found 25 keys limiting for trialling and playing instruments across octaves.
So I wanted at least 49 and I'm really happy I went 88. Also my hands are L-XL so I prioritised bigger keys (e.g. both Nektars whereas the M32 has mid sized keys).
Of course, it depends on your use-case, this M32 would be great for travelling and backpack producing but if you have space I'd get more keys.
Since you have the pads well and truly covered by your Akai Fire, I'd recommend getting a keyboard, I've found Nektars to be really good with full sized keys and of course NI are great. If you were OK with smaller and less keys the Arturia MiniLab Mk II feels super nice too.

  • You sure it includes Massive? Maybe Im just blind :P

    • +2

Yes, that's a copy and paste from the website and I just downloaded it from the Komplete 14 select bundle.

      • Sorry to ask the same thing, but does it still include Hybrid Keys? There's a bit of conflicting information on the website and their YouTube channel. It looks like they might've replaced it with Soul Sessions

        • Yep it has Hybrid Keys.

  • +1

    Sweet, thanks!

  • Hmm damn Im just starting out and have an AKAI MPK mini. I purchased the Ableton Live Lite and now I want all that Native Instruments software. Is it worth it selling the MPK and buying this?

  • @Sandaz I was looking at the Komplete 14 Standard as I want the pianos maverick and noire etc. Is it possible to buy this package (Select) with the keyboard and then upgrade from the Select to the Standard for a good price or is that not an option anymore?

    • +1

Yeah, im considering doing the same. The 'summer of sound' NI sale is on at the mo and alot of stuff is half price. I think an upgrade from select to standard is about $300 during this sale. I can log in to NI tomorrow to check the upgrade price.

      • +1

Awesome! thankyou, let me know that would be great :)

When you buy the M32 it comes with an e-voucher to use on NI store so will be interesting.

If I can get the M32 included for the price of Komplete 14 Standard alone, that would be good deal.

        • Just checked now, an upgrade to Standard is showing as $299.50 for me which is half price for that upgrade for me. Presumably that's the summer of sound sale which ends on July 6th.
I should note that I own Select. Plus I already own Empire Breaks & Free Form so maybe those are factored in to the price too. But yes, probably until July 6th, there are heavily discounted upgrades to Standard from Select. Ultimate is also showing as $749.50 for an upgrade option for me too.

  • +1

Thanks, I've brought the M32 with Select

KOMPLETE KONTROL M32 and the included software are sold as a bundle. The software products can only be activated after registering the hardware.

Along with your new keyboard, you will get a 25,00 € e-voucher to spend in the NI Online Shop. so $40 AUD?

Once I get it I will try to use the voucher towards Komplete 14 Standard, so should only cost $460 all up so technically $10 for the keyboard, haha.

    • Rad, would be keen to hear what Standard is like and if its worth the upgrade. Keen for the strings and Maschine expansions mainly but it all helps.

      • +1

I got my M32 with Komplete Select and its good, I will investigate Standard some more and likely upgrade to that soon too.

However the $40 voucher states this

        1. This e-voucher is valid on all Native Instruments software downloads available at the NI Online Shop. It is NOT valid on updates, upgrades, crossgrades, edu licenses, hardware, or products that are part of a special offer.

So at the moment its useless

I notice they have the M32 with Komplete Standard for $498 and an Ultimate M32 package too now so my trick wasn't as sneaky as I thought.

All I can think of is redeeming the voucher on something not in the deal then cancelling and seeing if store credit is an option, otherwise the voucher is basically useless and expires after 6 months, unless they happen to release something awesome in the next couple of months that isn't on a special offer.

      • +1

Standard is definitely worth the upgrade if you're still on the fence, It's much more substantial, I haven't tried everything in it obviously but I'm quite impressed with the calibre of sounds and additions. It makes Select look like an unfinished lacklustre demo.

Don't think I'd ever need to upgrade to the Ultimate. I think it would take a very long time to get tired or bored with Standard depending on how often you use it.

        • Yep cheers, I just got it, an insane amount of stuff to tinker with and I've alreeady found stuff I didn't expect to love - I just threw a Dirt preset on a breakbeat and it sounds meeeeean.

  • I booked that a version of this many years ago, still sealed in a box somewhere. I'm so bad 😭

I wonder if they give free upgrades LOL
