I have that sander, and it does not fit a 4Ah battery !!!?
Looks like they changed the design without changing the model number.

      • +6

Yeh, used to only fit without the dustcatcher.. looks like they just changed the catcher, made it smaller.

        Old vs new

      • Yeah interesting - looking at the manual it now comes with a low profile dust catcher instead. The sander appears unchanged in terms of spec, but possibly the catcher area is different.

      • Yes. Fortunately I have a 2ah battery.
Don’t know if we, as the owners of the older model, can receive a low profile dust catcher for free :)

  • Can anyone comment to the quality of the jigsaw? I have lots of metabo tools, but can't justify the price of a metabo jigsaw for how often I would use it.

    • +1

Note: This "compact" jigsaw is different from the standard PCX 18V standalone Jigsaw. If there are any differences they appear to be very minor.

I own the stand alone version and have been happy with it so far.

    • I have the same one stuckster linked to and find that the blade wanders (hard to keep in a straight line) and the blade likes to jump out of the roller. I have a Makita corded jigsaw which I have used heaps more and have had no such issues.
It is possible there is some control lever that I am setting wrong but I can't work it out.

  • Any good or junk ? Any feedback from owners ??

I can't comment on the performance of the jigsaw or sander, but the Ozito PXC range is great. Excellent value and good quality.

Jigsaw is junk. Mine ended up in the bin, burnt out.

So lasted at least 5 years, otherwise could have replaced under warranty?

Things will fail sometimes. I've had a good run with Ozito stuff so far though.

    • I have the drill, glue gun and reciprocating saw. Happy with all of them. Just light home use though.

Important part is the long warranty - I found their stuff about a 6-7 out of 10. But they last (or will be replaced if they dont)

      • +3

And replacement warranty right in the shop.

    • Soild, but a step down from Ryobi.

Have a range. Brushed and brushless drill and impact driver, jigsaw, multitool and had the circular saw. Feedback:
      - Impact drivers - both brushless and brushed are great; in fact sometimes I preferentially use the brushed for less power (avoid over driving screws)
      - Drills - brushless hammer drill is great; brushed normal drill is rubbish, but I still use it for piloting holes
      - jig saw - does the job, blades are important (got diablo)
      - multitool - also does the job
      - circular saw - the ozito blade didn't last long. Ended up getting a Makita corded circular saw with diablo blades instead.

Great set for the cheap batteries. The other not so good Ozito tool is the nail gun - ended up getting the Ryobi one, which is still relatively cheap compared to the tradie brands

Ozito tools are good for light-ish work, have a bunch of corded Makita tools for more heavy duty stuff (circ saw, SDS drill, grinder, recip saw, router). Managed to pull off a full hardwood floor reno with these tools.

  • Very good price! I have the drill and the sander. The drill works fine which I use for all sorts of little work (I also have a more expensive and better makita drill which I don’t use :))
    The sander is mediocre though.
Then here is the jigsaw. Can’t comment, as I own and use a ryobi one.

  • For that price, they have to all be brushed.

    • There's also the 5 piece version.
      Would get if brushless

  • This vs Bosch deal a few days ago ? Is Bosch green better than these !

I would get PXC, not because it's better, but because you will be more likely to get cheap skins and batteries into the future.

I'm not actually thrilled with this set. It's decent value, but I would prefer a better drill (I have the PXC brushless "hammer" drill skin) and a detail sander is mostly useless.

I have Ozito PXC multi tools, blower and trimmer. The multi tool just stopped working recently(2years old). It has 5 years warranty. So I took it back to Bunnings for return. I put extra $ to exchange for Ryobi 18v. Compare Ryobi. Ozito is like a toys. But it is Ok if you occasionally use this brand.
Keep your receipt, becasue they will refund or replace once it is down within 5 years. And if you replace , you will get a new receipt , your warranty will extend to another 5 year.

    • Don't get me wrong, Ryobi is great. But having used the comparable Ryobi and Ozito multifunction tools side by side, they are basically identical in power and functionality. What is much more important is good blades - both the Ryobi and Ozito ones that comes with the tool are below average.

Where Ryobi stands out compared to Ozito is that they have a wider range of products, and more 'premium' versions. Like the multifunction tool - there's a basic one, and a one with more features for a higher price. Ozito only has the basic one.

For the average person doing random DIY and minor renovations, who is willing to wait for the Ozito sale prices, then Ozito works out at about half the price for comparable functionality. It also makes it easy to have a lot of batteries, since they are 3 or 4 times cheaper.

I find that if there is then specific tools I need a high end version of, then I can get them from another brand, and go straight for the much more expensive, but much more powerful versions that run higher voltage. That won't work for everyone though.

  • What is the original price?

  • +1

I’ve had this kit for a few months now. Used all the tools in the ongoing renovation. I’m quite happy with these and can definitely recommend. Bought my kit for $169.

  • Jigsaw is great, you must use the plastic guides included to keep it straight on the marks made. Just used it to lay engineered wood flooring. Used the included jigsaw blade. The metal guide provided was useful for long cuts.

  • anyone in west-brisbane want the tools but not the battery/charger? - DM me if so
