Great controller. Bought one for mum to play PSX and one for myself after I saw how good hers was.

    • +5

You have a cool mum. My wife doesn't play games and wouldn't let my daughter play as well.

      • +6

She wants to relive the classics that she used to play after I went to bed. Croc, Spyro, Crash etc.

        • +1

That's cool. What hardware is she playing it on?

          • +1

            @adam149: 5th gen NUC w/ DuckStation connected to a 4K TV.

        • +3

Yeah your mother is totally awesome!

    Fantastic controller, highly recommend

  • Need a good quality wireless controller for Switch. Is this overkill?

    • +9

      Not at all. It's perfect.

Out of curiosity, what's the threshold for "good quality" if a $59 controller is suspected an overkill?

      • Lasts as long as the console, doesn't develop any drift/tilt

    • +2

it's definitely just right! cheaper than the switch pro so not overkill at all.

    • +1

I use my Pro 2 as a Switch controller, I have played many games with it, it's great. I have a Switch Pro Controller as well and I just can't be bothered to use it haha

    • I've got both pro controller and 8bitdo pro and 8bitdo pro destroys switch pro!!
      It's :
      - cheaper
      - better d-pad
      - extra buttons and remapping
      - can also use on pc and android
      - great ergonomic design
      - has symmetric layout for our symmetric hands!!!
      Happy gaming!

  • Thanks for sharing, was literally looking to buy this exact one and colour.

Done a bit of research lately on controllers. Here's my summary:
Xbox - easy to use with windows, average latency/ occasional issue with bluetooth. Great connection with 2.4ghz adapter. Need batteries.
Playstation - Great latency with bluetooth, not as compatible with windows so use a program DS4windows.
8Bitdo Pro 2- Good all- rounder for pc, Switch, android with a toggle button. Good price. Doesn't turn on switch. Can use program to change presets.
8Bitdo UItimate - The awesome hall effect sticks are on the bluetooth version not 2.4ghz version. Great controller but more expensive. Can use program to change presets.
Switch Pro - Ok but expensive compared to 8bitdo Pro 2, may require steam to use with windows. Don't know a lot about these.
Generic Black, Red and Blue switch controller on Amazon - cheap at about $30 -I had bluetooth latency issue with chromecast but good on pc, triggers are only on/off, Does the job for guests.
    Comfort is subjective I guess.

      +1 but:

      Great connection with 2.4ghz adapter

      It's not 2.4ghz, I think it's 5ghz
      the low latency thing

      P.S. Switch pro has a bad D-Pad

  • -1

Is it compatible with xbox in wired mode?

  • +2

8bitdo bluetooth + 2.4g is the best controller on the market - hands down beats the OG switch pro controller and it has 2.4

      • Nope, get the "theres an error with your order". Will try a few more times though over next hour.

Thanks for posting deal though :)

        • Same issue here

        • Same issue as well. Black works and only the Grey one errors out

          • @shaahulh: I'm getting '

            '

            • @radien: @nugeorge I am getting the same error. Contacted Amazon chat and they said the item was restricted to ship to my address and they repeated the same when I asked more.

Funny how the black one works and grey doesn't.

  • Just bought this the other week about $20 more. It's great. Only issue I have is playing ps4 remotely can be difficult as there no "button" to assign the touch pad to.

Also - MacBook won't allow it over Bluetooth for remote PS. Only works when wired via USB.

Still. Sooo good for emulation and ROMs on other devices as well as another switch controller.

    • "MacBook won't allow it over Bluetooth for remote PS. Only works when wired via USB."

Does the controller work at all with the MacBook via bluetooth? I'm hoping to use it with Steam.

      • I have only tried with PS Remote Play and no luck - I believe theres no issues with Steam. But have a look on other forums to confirm.

        • Ok i'll look into it, thanks for the reply.

Lol its back to $89 and still cant buy.

  • This is back to $59!!

But it's still undeliverable to any address I try (WA, QLD, and NSW)

    • Same here, stuck with error message even when delivering to an amazon locker

      • I contacted Amazon through live chat and they were useless. Told me it wasn't available for all addresses… I asked for an area it could be delivered to and they declined that request

        • yeah it's pretty pointless, when i live chatted them they told me they had no issues with the address and just told me to refresh or relogin

          • @icedmelonsoda: It's back and working now! Just ordered for $59

            • @Eatoff: sweet, thanks for letting me know!

              • @icedmelonsoda: Now I'm looking for where to get replacement buttons to change the layout to Xbox. Wish me luck…

                • @Eatoff: You can purchase genuine 8BitDo Xbox Layout Buttons directly from 8BitDo for US$2.99 (~A$4.50)

Note: shipping is expensive (US$5.99), so best to pick up a few other replacement parts as well.
