Doesn’t handbrake do this for free?

    • Yep, Handbrake is a great free tool in converting DVD and video and used by many people. The only short is that it can only convert common DVD to MP4 and MKV. WinX DVD Ripper works better than Handbrake with faster speed, more output formats and stronger usability. You could check this article to know more about WinX DVD Ripper VS Handbrake.

      • When will we have free video converter?

    • You can also use VLC. Set the output to a file, rather than watching on screen. It has a fair few options. It’s probably not as easy as dedicated software.

I use mpv in Linux (command line) which uses ffmpeg to do the encoding. Works flawlessly, ffmpeg has lots of codecs and options. I’ve done the same for Bluray, but the copy protection is more difficult to deal with and sometimes doesn’t work.

  • How about some free DVD burning software that covers MP4 haha

  • Thanks for the post. When I hear rip DVDs I get 2000's vibes but that's OK. Might be useful for some who want to rip the DVD's they own.

I know how to make some money in this new digital age, I'll make some software for the folks who don't want to pay for their DVDs.
WHAT? The people who don't want to pay for their DVDs that are using my software aren't paying for it! I never anticipated that.

  • I've used DVD Shrink for years, how is this better?
