Now that Amazon JP products are available directly through Amazon AU, it seems like a few of the more recent gunpla kits (mostly Witch from Mercury) are being sold at more or less JP retail prices.

is this same size as 1/144 or bigger?

    Thanks

    • +1

A tad bigger than the HG 1/144 scale but generally Robot Damashii is considered no-scale.

    • +1

Same size but it’s an action figure you don’t build it.

  • thanks OP, worked fine on the amazon app

  • wow, they are finally shipping to Australia now?

    • Looks like we are going to see more deals here from Amazon JP

      • Its because of free shipping. If you had to pay shipping, it won't br as much of a deal.

    • They re-opened the shipping back in August last year on their JP site, but I think it's only now you're able to purchase it from the AU site.

If Amazon does honour it, you can grab some pretty good bargain with the free shipping.

      • +1

Traditionally you could never buy things like figures or gunpla from amazon JP precovid. This is a new move from them.

        • Now only if they let me buy jpop blurays.

  • do these come with the stands for posing? If not, where can I get some?

    • They don't come with stands, the stands are called action base and can be bought from Hobbyco or other local stores. But at this price, the stands costs almost as much as the kit.

  • The SD ones look cute. are they any good?

    • For those prices yeah but the promo pictures make them look better as some of the parts won’t be the same color or be painted the same.

  • +1

what is good to buy from amazon jp?

  • Do the stands not come with?

  • +1

I'm not into this stuff but it reminds of Odaiba island in Tokyo bay - an epic place.

    • +1

Ah yes, the 1:1 scale Gundam Unicorn

  • If these orders actually come through then my dream would become true: Affordable Gunpla again!

Gone was the good old days when a MG could be bought for sub $50 and HG was generally around $15-30.

  • Grabbed boba fett model kit $24 and aeriel rebuild $19.

  • Bandai Hobby - Char's Counterattack - #95 Hi-Nu Gundam, Bandai HGUC$24 RX-93 V2

  • 2 of my orders figure-rise Angemon and Hg Sakura wars have been shipped already Amazon used ECMS Express.

  • +2

seems like everyone is a gundam fan now

    • +2

Next ozb birthday, need to show gundam on the door to gain entry

      • maybe a gundam badge as well

      • man it is such a great idea! everyone need at least show 5

  • New to gunpla here so I don't know how much these are normally worth, but shipping is worth more than the actual gunpla itself at like $18. Is it still worth it at like $33?

    • +1

Depending on the kit HG in Australia retail is from 25-40$

    • Duh.. buy more to get free shipping

      • That mindset is a very dangerous slippery slope XD

        • Agree but also suit financial principal in this case, $33 get you one but 3 for $55.
          Either buy 3 or none.

  • Do they need to be painted?

  • Have no idea what I just bought, buy first before oos and think later.

    Edit.. ok I see now

Are they easy to build and instructions in English?

    • The newer ones have some english now days, still easy to follow without.

    • should be pretty straight forward.

here are the translations for some of the most commonly used symbols in the manual:

    https://www.amazon.com.au/Bandai-Hobby-Gundam-Ver-Ka-Figure/…

MG Zeta ver Ka for under $100, that is a pretty good price

must……. resist…….. (looking at my pile-of-shame models stacked all the way up to the ceiling…………I still have an unbuilt MG Zeta 2.0 somewhere……….)

    • +1

Apparently really good but I’m looking at the pos hg and rg zeta gives me a easy pass, anything that transform is gonna be a headache.

    • +1

I still have the HD Colour version of the 2.0 MG that was released to celebrate the release of Gundam Zeta on Bluray

    • wow price has gone up to $166, I hope someone has snap up one for $99

  • (profanity) it, I'll cop a 3rd Aerial for that price

  • I'm looking at HMM Zoids 1/72 models. Prices are insane…

    • +1

Spending so much aye. These prices are wild lol

      • Considering they're normally double the price and it's free shipping.

        • +1

Don't forget import tariffs as well.

  • HGAC Wing Zero $17.69
Bandai Hobby Kit 1/144 - Hgac Wing Gundam Zero is 29.99, how could I get to 17.69

  • Can anyone recommend any zaku looking ones or ones with different colours to the Aerial in the 15-20 price range? Im having trouble browsing through Amazon JP :(

  • +5

Used to see these on shelves as a kid when travelling overseas but too big and expensive to bring home. Ive never even seen the shows, they just look cool. Just spent about $200 lol. Wife gonna be WTF when she sees 4 random deliveries of 15 odd toys.

  • Reminds me of my time in divers city. Level 4 of the shop was dedicated to gunplay came out with a wing zero kit which my wife and I built together
Best memories of holidays came from Japan

  • Wow these look great, I've never seen them before but bought 9x for $162.69 and will give them all to a 4yo, I hope that's not too young?

    • Requires sharp tools.

      • Tools are required to assemble them? Ok thanks for the tip. I hope he doesn't put any small parts in his mouth

        • +3

There will be small pieces some the size of a rice grain lol.

          • @Lucretia: Hahaa oops, I hope he's passed that stage now.. I think only 1-2yo toddlers put things in their mouth

          • @Lucretia: Do you recommend buying some of those acrylic stands to support them, or can they just lean against a wall? They look cheap at $13.20 for 3x
            https://www.amazon.com.au/Simple-Stand-x3-Figures-Models/dp/…

            • +1

@x x: They will stand fine without leaning or support stand, those are only for extreme poses or flying.

        • +1

@Hudcon: If it helps, there's an EG (entry grade) line that's advertised as requiring no tools at all: instead of using nippers to cut pieces off the runner, they've instead made the connection points really thin so that you can easily push it out with just your fingers.

          • @grackfight420: You can always yank them forcefully without tool but they will just look bad.

    • +4

There is no way a 4yo can do it. More like 8+ years.. Or the parent does it, and the 4yo watches, maybe help a little bit..

  • Thanks for posting!

  • Picked this up for $15.10

    https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07XG9M3XW?psc=1&smid=A2K69GP4E…

    and this for $16.93

    https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07TNRM38Q?psc=1&smid=A2K69GP4E…

As well as the Freedom and Aerial kits.

    • HGUC Gundam Mk-II for $16.93??? must…………… resist………….. (still have two unbuilt MG MK-II 2.0 in the pile, ordered from two different shops by mistake, and both showed up at my door step at the same time………….)

  • I can’t get $15 on the first one, $47 even using incognito mode on Safari on my phone and going to Amazon website and going to App.

    • it is s old out.

    • I couldn't get it back to $15 after I placed my order, so it most likely is just sold out.

You'll see it's not sold by Amazon JP.

  • All but one on the 1/144 scale are now on wish list only from Japan Amazon Store.

  • Now waiting for the MG and PG to go on sale..

    • I wouldn't hold my breath. Japan still has shortages of those. Amazon isn't going to have cheap stock available for long even when they get it in. Local JP Market would snap it up ASAP.

  • Can anyone recommend a panel line pen? Cheaper the better of course.

  • Party is over. Can’t seem to load prices or purchase option from Amazon JP storefront anymore

    • I added Gundam Marker Airbrush handpiece $24.12 (2860 JPY) to my cart. 4 - 6 week dispatch though.

    • keep refreshing, it still works if the item is in stock

  • +3

also i just put it here not new post, but if anyone want the stand/holder for some flying poses, there is $1.48 / each on temu (incl tax already)
edit. found another type of stand , only $1.18 !
    (search for 1/144 display stand)

  • No Master Grade deals?

    • None. I was searching for RG as well. They only have limited HGs

RG Zaku (green) for $39, not bad at all.

  • Missed it. Hopefully I can get another deal similar to this

    • +1

Which ones are you trying to buy? Some still work. You just have to refresh a lot or spam the right link to make the right price appear. If you are using a browser I find the most consistent way of bringing up the price is to search for it like this.

      • I found one last night (RX-178), but soon after I bought it, the seller (Amazon JP) cancelled the order. I tried that twice.
