    • No issue as the one above you?

      • Can't say I have experienced any screen flickering, but I may not have been watching using the exact same parameters as above.

  • Ours is working really well, have plugged in APPLE TV 4K and so far it’s been real good, rest time will tell. Might have to play Around with some settings for the best picture quality .

  • Quite happy with the TV, so I created a child account as an independent profile on Google TV. However, within the child account, I am unable to access the basic TV function and receive a message stating that permission is required to open the app. This is quite frustrating. I attempted to address the issue using both Google Family Settings and TCL parental control settings, but neither provided an option to unlock it. Has anyone else encountered this problem, and if so, could you please share how to resolve it?

  • Just curious I’m weeks away from unboxing and setting up tv as work away but was just curious I have this surround speaker from I think 2020.
Yamaha YAS-108 Sound bar with 3D Surround Sound & Bluetooth, Black

Will this make the sound etc better on the tcl tv or does it have better on the tv built in?
I know this Yamaha impressed me back then but let’s say it was a cheap tv and sound was not best and added it to make it better.

Was going to use it on the tcl but watched a vid of this in YouTube a guy said this tv does not need a sound bar.

    • Will this make the sound etc better on the tcl tv or does it have better on the tv built in?

well why not you try with and without…. we keen to hear your feedback

    • The yamaha will sound better than the tv.

      • Ok i thought maybe the tv had better specs than a 2019/2029 Yamaha YAS-108 Sound bar with 3D Surround Sound & Bluetooth I own but if it will make it sound better then all good.
But ain’t this tv got subwoofer etc built it will it work in conjunction with my soundbar.

        • I have the soundbar and its better. You can pair the sound bar with bluetooth and use the internal tv speakers at the same time.

          • @10fps: oh you can use both ? interesting…
hmmmm never tried . i have the same soundbar, but connect it to tv with optical cable.
maybe different tv different setting, mine (LG) we need to choose input, either tv speaker or external. and my tv doesnt have bluetooth i think/
            cant be both

          • @10fps: Ok god to know you can use soundbar and speakers on tv same time.
I know there is a newer Yamaha soundbar than mine not sure what the differences is but I like the model I have

  • Just got this tv. Not really impressed with the colours when comparing to the Sony Bravia x90k. Certain colours seem abit dull.

I am also getting some weird dimming issues with the tv in certain zones when watching a movie. Happened whilst watching Ant-Man with 4k dolby vision.

    Has anyone experienced this?

    • Yeah, I had a similar experience as well. Had some weird dimming/light increasing happening when scenes on TV shows slightly changed. Colors just seemed quite off as a whole. I updated the firmware from 4xx to 5xx (latest via OTA) and for me, all of those issues went away. I've kept things mostly standard on the settings, just turned motion stuff off and set it to 'movie' mode for picture.

It felt pretty night and day in comparison pre/post update for me, but maybe its a placebo?

  • Are these good hdmi cables for this tv which I’m setting up few weeks time I have older hdmi cables but not 8k which it states or 4K I not got a 4K player yet.

    • Yes. Amazing.

      • Do you have them?

  • +1

Setup the TV last night and it seems pretty good out of the box. Don't think it requires any tweaking with the picture settings as the default seem fine to my eyes.

The speakers however are a bit of a let down but they mostly are on most of the TV's

JB Hifi (New Store in South Nowra NSW) wouldn't let me test this TV in-store (play with remote) some crap about the boss and the TCL rep said not to allow people to test them out..

That was my first Red Flag.. why?

Anyway, I own two other somewhat older smart TCL Android TVs (they go ok, bit slow at times, have random wifi connectivity woes, and sound like all-budget Chinese Tvs - "tinny" but that was expected, and I can live with that considering the price point I paid.

But what I want to know do these newer ones still behave the same as this?
You have to go in Home menu and select the TV App, just to watch free-to-air TV??, what happens if you are in Netflix or using Xbox on HDMI and you press the channel changer button, anything?

Also when you are in the TV App, if you cycle through all the channels either in the up or down directions it also cycles out of the TV App and into the AV Sources (HDMI 1, HDMI 2 etc) that's also dumb - just stay on the TV and let me keep toggling the channels, don't throw me out of the App.

    • The TV staff at that location are the worst I've found in any JB so maybe try another JB or price match/view somewhere else.

    • Man that sucks. It was a bargain x10000.
