  Because AMD is late to DDR5, and their memory is new to the market. So supplier want to milk us for a bit longer.

  You don't need EXPO and will even get better performance if you set the memory yourself. Look for Buildzoid Hynix settings.

  Retailer clearing old stock. Not sure when DDR5 makers will make XMP + EXPO support standard across the board. Guessing next year.
  
  For RAM kits with good memory die type, people might be more willing to do manual settings.

    Yes, but it is hard to find the sellers who sell the naked hynix ddr5 ram itself without tuning. It seems like that I have to go to Korea to grab that.
