Acer ED273P 27" Curved 165Hz Freesync 1080p Monitor $149 + Delivery (Was $299) @ Kmart

460
  • 27" curved.
  • Freesync range 48Hz - 165Hz.
  • 3.5-star Energy Rating.
  • Ports: HDMI 1.4, HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort 1.4, 3.5mm audio.
  • VA panel.
  • 1920x1080.
  • 100x100 VESA mount.
  • 2x2-watt speakers.
  • Supports VRB, ACM, and some little virtual decals to get a crosshair in games that don't already show one.
  • Comes with a 1.5m HDMI high-speed-with-Ethernet cable that supports the full 165Hz, but remember to plug it in using the HDMI 2.0 port, which is the one in the middle.

I own this and for $150 I'd call it great value, I think you'd have to spend double to significantly beat it. The bad: terrible speakers, 1080p is a bit low-res for anything text-driven, not everyone likes a curve, no height adjustment. The good: the Freesync works a treat, brightness and contrast are pretty good, and to my untrained eye the colours are noticeably nicer than on any comparable <$400 monitor I've used, well-rounded and vibrant without cranking saturation.

Note that if you look this model up for reviews or specs, it comes in two variants, silver and black (this one), that actually have quite different specs. The silver one tops out at 60Hz, for example.

  • Not after the curved, was after the flat IPS one they had for $109. On that note, why waste money on a curve when you don't even have a decent res yet?

165hz is nice but I do think at 27", you should be aiming for a 1440p resolution.

    • +4

This is still pretty decent value for brand new and high refresh rate.

    • Nah depends on monitor quality seen 32 inches curved still looks nice.

    1080p

    no thanks…

  • Would this do justice for home office work?

    • +4

Nah, you should be looking at 1440p minimum for productivity.

      • How so?…. Extra functionality or less eye strain?

        • +2

More real estate to display apps.

        • +1

You can either fit more on the screen, or the same amount as 1080p but with more detail. Better either way

        • Extra functionality.

IMO, 1080p would mean less eye strain as everything would be bigger.

I've recently helped some boomer coworkers set their 1440p screens to 1080p and they're happy (I think it looks awful lol)

@idonotknowwhy: Can also just boost the scaling of the display when using a higher resolution monitor to make everything easier to read. In display settings for Windows.

  • Not available in NSW (Sydney - Bathurst).

  • 1440p would be an instant buy

  • This popular item has sold out online

Great price for this product. Looks like it is already sold out and not available any more. I am surprised to see comments about 1440p resolution request for this price.

  • 1080p 27" curved. lol. Kind of pointless, no? Atleast the price is right

    • +1

Imagine how close you need to sit for it to be effective.

not wewwwqhd, may as well as be landfill

This thread is madness. A high refresh rate 27 inch monitor at $149 and people demanding 1440p.

This is incredible value for 95% of people. The kind of people looking to pay sub $200 for a monitor most likely arent looking at 1440p.

Gotta have the awareness to view a product for exactly what it is. Good value

Exactly this is the perfect gaming monitor for that kid from Bankstown who might one day become a Fortnite champion.

It's not supposed to be some end game monitor.

      • +1

Yeah gotta understand the use case - gaming on a budget, not for office/wfh use. Would pair nicely with one of those cheap pcs with a 1080 in it

    • It’s good to see people here actually evaluating their purchases instead of the moronic “buy now think later” mentality we use to see here. RBA might be getting through to people.

    • 24" 144hz FHD monitors can already be found plentiful for this price, being curved and bigger just makes it worse. It's not 'good value', it's plain average at best.

  • I'd still rather IPS, even for gaming.

  • $34.07 delivery to metro Melbourne. Not eligible for free shipping. Not eligible with one pass…. Either a third party sell or acer stock clearance…

    I'd prefer 8K for $70.

I prefer paris hilton for … no idea

        • wrong site, this ozbargain not fansonly

        • I'd prefer the Hilton in Paris.

  • Is it possible to extend two screens to a laptop? Therefor I would have 3 screens. My laptop only has one HDMI port and a few USB ports.

    • +1

You may be able to connect a display via USB-C using an adaptor. You'd need to check if your machine supports DP alt-mode.

Otherwise, you'd be looking at a displaylink device. There are downsides to this - eg can result in high CPU use - so worth doing some research first.
