Just looked at Philips 328P6V 32" in a friend's place, not sure whether I would have a used one for $175. VA panel is not for me.

In my opinion, if budget allows, much better deal in Dell G3223Q currently less than AU$500 in Dell website (including delivery). Bought one today with the discount code. This monitor is selling in much higher price in the US and UK.

    • +2

Genuine question… What's wrong with it? What is your use case?

    • +2

Most every large tv sold today is a VA panel if it's not a super expensive oled.

You shouldn't compare a used, affordable monitor like this with a $500 monitor like the Dell.

Having said that, the older Philips has effectively the same colour accuracy, same resolution, far superior contrast, comparable brightness, is a true 10 bit panel unlike the Dell.

The Dell enjoys great advantages in refresh rate, response time, viewing angles, hdr suitability.

The Philips is exceptionally good value delivered to your door for 170 bucks.

    • I bought one of these Philips (but it was the brand new deal from bneacttrader) to personally use on my construction sites and my boys on site use Dell S2721Q's.

I don't think its fair to compare the Philips to a G3223Q when you look at the prices.

If I am being honest and somewhat pedantic, I do prefer IPS monitors over VA but neither compare to my LG 42" OLED! (see what I did there? compared it to something 2-3x the price)

For the price of these Philips its a no brainer. Its such a good deal and even has KVM functionality.

I am going to buy another one of these Philips for my friend.

    • This comment didn’t age well based on the DOA rate

  • Hi, I wonder if this monitor is good for CAD design and other drawing works, anyone can give me some suggestions ? Thanks a lot

  • Received today!

The packaging was secure enough however I think it would benefit with "fragile" tape around the box.

The bottom outside casing (back of the monitor) for the screen was out/off - however i snapped it all back together.

I can't seem to get a great picture from it, I have two smaller 24inch VA screens which are perfect (using HDMI & VGA), but for this screen i've tried HDMI, VGA & DP - nothing seems to get rid of this almost "cloudy" look (DP seems to be the best for text resolution yet the cloudy look is still there).

Does anyone have any magic display config combinations to remove the cloudy look?

    • Is the picture just soft? If the pc is sending it a signal with a resolution lower than 4k this may happen.

If it's a general haze and dirty looking whites then I'd windex the screen (longshot) and start fiddling around in the monitor settings contrast/brightness/temperature etc.

If it's inconsistent patches in the screen that seem lighter or brighter than the majority of the surrounding area, most evident on a black screen, then that can be considered a panel defect and you should contact them with photos and try your luck.

I'd try hooking up another device that outputs 4k to it to confirm the monitor is the culprit.

      • +1

I don't think I have another 4k device - I mean I have 3 other screens as I said above that are VA and they are great.

Maybe cloudy wasn't the best way to describe it, almost like exposure or if you had the sun shinning onto it.

I'll do a deep dive tomorrow and report my findings!

    • Did it come with any free cables like in previous times it has appeared on here and people got free cables included.

I wonder if the case coming apart could have affected the screen causing that cloudy look. Could be a loose connection inside.

      • +1

I got mine today. It had a free DP to DP cable in it. The case of mine was also out/off. I've snapped it back together but there is a part of the plastic that has been bent/damaged and it does bother me. It's not something I can bend back and it's pretty clear these were treated quite badly at the time of decommission.

I can't talk to picture quality yet because I've just realised that my work laptop only has a mini-DP so I'll need to find some sort of adapter somewhere. It does turn on though.

Edit: Grabbed my MBP to plugin via HDMI, I can get 60hz after changing the OSD settings but I personally think it looks terrible. I'm just running a Xiaomi 34" at home so it's not like I'm coming from an extremely high quality screen. I grabbed this for my folks' place so at least I won't be in front of it regularly.

Definitely a regret buy for me.

      • Came with a DP cable.

Not sure if the case is what caused the issue - I don't think it is, i feel its just the screen.

      • No free cables in mine

    • You could check that you monitor settings line up with the ones in this video, starting around the 2:30 mark. Some office worker might have messed around with yours.

      • Thanks - will give it a go tomorrow!

    • Wow that was fast! I ordered on 2/6/23 and it still hasn't been dispatched yet! I'm working from a surface pro screen right now :(

      • +4

We are pumping through them as fast as we can, there are just under 2000 units to be packed and shipped.

Yeah, I'm not having a go, just desperate! :)

        • Hey OP, any updates on the shipping status for the community? Ordered on 2/6/23 and still not being dispatched/scanned yet? I am in NZ based so is there a different process or something?

    • +1

      Omg..I have the same issue
They wrapped around it, but not under/over and they had it sitting on the stand bit I think and you can see where it was pushed against it as tiny scratch/crack mark.

Still works though.. But the bezel isn't aligned for about 1/3 in the middle area at the bottom because of it, but you wouldn't know looking at it when snapping it back in place at the top bit

      Debating on what to do

  • Ordered mine on 1st June, it arrived yesterday.
Dispatched from metro Brisbane and delivered to metro Brisbane so not bad for Aus Post.

  • Mine arrived on Monday. I spent some time fiddling around with the monitor's and PC's video card settings and ended up using a monitor calibrator as well. Pretty happy with how it looks now. Monitor is spotless and only has a decent scratch on the base of the stand. No biggie.

  • wow still not out of stock amazing … so tempted to get one more
hopeful get more discount on the ebay list

  • Ordered mine a week ago. Still says awaiting dispatch. How long do these guys take to actually deliver?

    • must be aus post issue, mine came like 2-3 days

      • My account says it doesn’t even have tracking number yet.. maybe they forgot with all the orders they have

    • +1

Im in the same boat, based in Victoria, ordered on the 1st and still awaiting dispatch

      • I am based in Melb and mine is in transit to Sunshine Depot as of 1am today morning. But delivery has been pushed back to wed next week from initial estimate of Friday this week.
Do these come via road or air from Bris to Melb?

    • I'm in Tassie, ordered two on the 1st, both showed as shipped on the 5th, one arrived today and the other is still at the local Australia post sorting facility

  • +2

Ordered 2 came in today. Monitors look amazing for refurbished models. No scratches on the front, only a few on the back and tried out some 4K content and looks outstanding, even came with free DVI cables that are 4k capable!

So far so good. Thanks again and great price for these beauties!

    • so dual monitors setup with 2 of these is good for wfh ? photos please

Using them at home. Take up almost the entire table :/……….worth it!

But yes you'll love them for work or home use. It's so clear in 4K.

  • Received my order but the hdmi cable I added on doesn't fit into the hdmi port of my laptop. Does anyone know what type of hdmi cable I need to get?

  • Oh I just checked the cable again and it is dp!

If you don't like the touchscreen controls (and who does?) pop over to the Philips website and download the SmartControl app under Software and drivers https://www.philips.com.au/c-p/328P6VJEB_75/brilliance-4k-lc…
Wish I had found it earlier after spending ages calibrating the monitor with the stupid touch controls

    • +1

mate, i wish i could give you +10 for this one. Soooo much easier using that utility than squinting at the controls

    • not even plugged mine in yet and I'm super happy to see your comment!

  • Don't know if mine are faulty….

Can't connect them. Have tried my WIndows and Mac laptops. It connected to my Mac once, but it would go on, and then fuzzy, then back on, intermittently every second.

(Tested using two HDMI cables - Have no Display Port output)

    • I am having the same issue, can't get to connect. Going to test on Xbox tomorrow to see if it works or they will be going back

      • Any luck?

I've read that there is basically no 'change of mind' returns ('re-stocking fee' of 25%)

I need it for my Mac and it doesn't work reliably.

My Windows works but only sometimes.

        • +1

No, I can't get my first one to work. The second one is due Tuesday, so I will test and see. It looks like a dead screen. Xbox couldn't get it to work, either.

          • +1

@Topboofhead: could you update if you plan to return and if the process is smooth?

            • @fabzxcv: @fabzxcv I will call them on Tuesday and see what they say. I will let you know

  • Still hasn't arrived yet.. :(

    • My one is in the great hands of Auspost.

The item got to the local distribution center.

But this was followed by it was being returned to sender because of an incorrect address. (The address from tracking was correct)

Shortly after it says it was out for delivery, followed by attempted delivery - unable to access.

I then went to the post office and then called them up, to see if they can just take it to the local post office.

Both Auspost person I spoke to said it was weird for it to be return to sender then it was out to be delivered.

But alas, checked tracking overnight, it seems like its going back…. all the way back.

I have sent an message to ACT, but I think its more in the hands of Auspost more than anything else at this stage. Lets see what happens over the long weekend….

  • Arrived with one of the screws to attach the screen to the mount missing, and another with its head damaged and unusable. Had to chase up some replacement 4mm screws and washers to assemble it. Its too heavy a screen to hang off two mounting screws.

This is not "grade A". It is careless and sloppy "refurbishment" to ship something that can't even be put to together and leave it to the customer to sort out.

    • +1

It's also the cheapest 32 inch screen in Australia.

    • it is a hit and miss.

they don't check the items and the packaging is not good.
the box seems too big and has no foam etc to properly protect the monitors.

do you have pick of box and wrapping they sent you?

    • Does it at least work? Can you connect your computer to it?

      Mine struggles to connect.

      • +1

Dude ring them, it's faulty. They'll replace it, they've got a few thousand of them.

  • Mine arrived with a big dent in the box. The monitor survived, although a section of the rear plastic cover had been dislodged - luckily it clipped back in fine.

Physical condition of the monitor is basically perfect, I'd say 9/10. The stand itself looks like it has been through the wringer but is functional and all screws accounted for.

Coming from a 1440p screen, my existing cable didn't work but this one did the trick (mini displayport to hdmi): https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B01FM50QJC

    • I'd recommend a better adapter than that to people, you want one rated for at least hdmi 2.0.

Better yet, use a mini displayport to full size displayport 1.4.

      • Yes, you're right, can get a cable with better specs for the same price. Do you have any suggestions?

  • Anyone know if these screens have speakers, or at least some form of audio?

The seller didn't say. So I googled it, and the model it gave me specs for said it has 2x 3W speakers. Which confirmed in my mind other posters saying it had speakers. The OSD doesn't have the "audio" section greyed out. But with a DP connection that otherwise works perfectly, Windows 11 gives me a "no audio device" message, and offers me nothing to select under sound.

Edit: I see the decal in the bottom left corner with all the features on it says "Built-In Speakers", so it looks like its supposed to have them, and they are supposed to work.

    • Speakers on the monitor work for me through work laptop that is connected.
Using HDMI and it shows up in the sound section as the model number

  • Oh, for dog's sake Philips, this screen has the most annoying stupid OSD I've ever seen on a screen in my life.

I've got the Philips instructions in front of me, and I still can't get into it. I press the button that is supposed to access the OS, and I get asked what language I want to use, then all I can get is error message saying Attention! Check cable connection. For f's sake I know. I've unplugged it from the PC with the DP port. I'm trying to switch from DP to HDMI so I can see if the sound works on that. Let me in to the OSD so I can @#$%^&*(

This is looking like the worst purchase I've made in a long time. It arrived in less than "grade A" condition. It claims to have speakers, but Windows 11 says it doesn't. And the OSD is so annoying its getting very close to having a hammer put through its screen. If the damn thing isn't "faulty" to the point of useless I don't know how else to describe it.

I guess that's what you get when you buy "refurbished".

    • Hey Gordon, head over to https://www.philips.com.au/c-p/328P6VJEB_75/brilliance-4k-lc… and download the Smart control app, it will make life a lot easier. Grab the driver while your there.

      • is there one for mac?

  • +1

Arrrghh, still pending dispatch. Ordered 4th June, in VIC. I guess with 2000 items it's going to take a while….

  • Received mine today. looks washed out next to my Dell 4k 27in.
Cant get the stupid display port to work. Works with HDMI cable. Text is not looking very sharp
Have to check and see if I can get the Display port to work with a different hub/Laptop.
Have to play around with the setting later to see if I can get it to look sharper and also get the DP to work.

  • Can anyone recommend a monitor arm to go with this?

  • +1

It arrived today — was shipped on Monday.
The plastic frame was knocked out of place. I pushed it and it snapped back into place.
There is a small issue with the backlight on the left — can be seen on full white monitor.
The monitor was manufactured on July 2018.
Happy with the monitor given the price.

    • Quite a few people got issue with the frame being open/loose possibly either from poor packaging
or these were previously repaired and not snapped back into place.

  • +2

Mine was DOA with damaged bezels and a display that doesn't power on. I've raised it with their support so see how we go. /shrug

    • +1

They've offered to send me another so no complaints there. Hopefully the next arrives in better condition. 😂

  • Question for those that received the monitor from this or previous deals..
Did the monitor come in its original box or a generic box?

    • +2

      generic box

  • omg seems like the refub units are no good, i got the brand new and it was perfect, almost bought another one (this one second hand)

    • +1

I bought two new and one refurb, all three were good.

      • The first deal remember everyone were happy but this thread in particular, many arent

        • -1

With nearly 2000 monitors this time round, I would expect there to be more bad units. What matters is the percentage.

If there was a failure rate of 1%, that's 20 bad monitors. We would definitely be more likely to hear about at least some of those, but the other 1,980 units could be working fine.

If the same 1% failure rate was applied to previous deals where there were 200-300 monitors, that's 2-3 bad units that the buyers could have just dealt with directly and not posted about it.

        • new is always better with that price was good.

          refurb is a lottery

      • what cables did you get with the new

and what cables came with refurb one?

  • +1

Ok bought one on Saturday and just got it now.

Its huge, and very happy with the quality etc. plug and play for me took 5 seconds to get it working.

I recommend the monitor and currently had the Dell 27 monitor everyone on ob uses.

I use the monitor for work
