  • After adjusting the settings (turned the gamma up, turned on 'smartuniformity', turned on HDMI 2.0 so I wasnt stuck at 30FPS), I'm satisfied with the monitor! Before I adjusted the setting it was very washed out and laggy with the low refresh rate

it did arrive with the casing separating in some places but it popped back together and I dont see any issues early on

    • the casing separating seems to be reported quite a bit here.

the packaging protection is not good enough that is why it is occurring

or repairs were done and some plastic tabs were broken so they separate easily now
or the repairer didn't bother snapping back the plastic frame

  • Got mine today, finally.

The packaging seems good enough, the box was puffed up with all the air.

The monitor is further packed with bubble wrap, and there was shreded cardboard at the bottom, plus two little blocks which I assumes was to help hold the monitor in place. However, some clips on the bottom of the monitor was loose and had to clipped back together.

The main annoyance was the mounting, if you look at the screw holes, they weren't exactly centered. So had to screw in gradually and evenly across the four. This is more of a Philips issue rather than refurb/ACT's issue.

The one I got was 2017. Older than some of the others reported here. OTOH, I am typing this on a 2010 Dell U2410f, so meh…..

The colour seems a bit washed out when connected to my desktop (GT1030), but it was much better with the laptop, so I suspect its more of a driver/setting issue.

they must have improve the packaging a bit cos some people only got bubble wrap and puff up air bags

with the clips, are you talking about the black plastic bezel frame on the bottom of the monitor?

seems like a common occurrence here..
not sure what is going on,

is it due to repairs done and the repairer broke the plastic tabs on the bezel or just didn't bother snapping it back in
or due to poor handling by someone packing the boxes
or due to the included stand causing the damage.

      • +1

They don't repair anything. They just plug it in and see if it works, if it works then its "refurbished"

Laptops/desktops, they might swap some more easily swappable parts in/out (ssd, ram, batteries etc), anything more than that its probably not worthwhile

        • with the clips, are you talking about the black plastic bezel frame on the bottom of the monitor being slightly opened?

  • Ordered on the 6th, arrived today, although estimated delivery moved around all over the place and was most recently supposed to be next week, so they were lucky I happened to be WFH today.

Packaging was a bit skimpy but the screen looks fine. Only visible damage is scratches on the base. Can't get it working at 60Hz though.

    • As per earlier in the discussion, you may have to change the settings to get 60Hz. Definitely should work.
Mine arrived today, but missing the base of the stand! ;-) Rang up and they are sending one out to me.

      • seems like they are not even checking what is inside the box
and this was packaged somewhere else.

        • -1

They sell them without bases too.

Mine finally arrived. Pc can see it.but no image, doesnt work. Tried hdmi and dp. And the vesa holes are not aligned i cant even see the holes. Cant be mounted on the stand. The entire insides seems to have shifted. Like even the power button near the power point was covered by the case. Can hear loose plastic inside too. Says 2018 on it.

  • Mine arrived today. Like everyone else the clips had detached and I had to push them back in. They should have used a larger box. The monitor only fits in diagonally and when you hold the box it squeezes the monitor at a angle and I think thats causing the monitor to pop apart. The box also doesnt have any writing on it except for the small shipping label attached to one side so its hard for the delivery company to tell which side is up. The delivery guy who brought the monitor to me was actually rotating the box up the stairs.

On the monitor itself, the picture quality and 60hz motion look decent enough to me. Lots of options in the osd. Osd buttons are a bit hard to press cause theyre so close together and theyre very sensitive and theres not tactile sign of where the buttons are/end. The inbuilt speakers sound decently passable to me but the volume control (over hdmi) is a bit weird. its either too loud or too low. At 10 upwards (goes to 50 or 100?) the volume hardly changes and its just very loud while between 0-10 is muted to conversation level volume.

Overall I'm happy with the monitor and the condition it came in but the packaging was very poor.

  • Mate of mine just received his, big ass scratch across the front of screen. Looks well used. Damn…

  • Got mine today.. Same as reports here, the whole rear bezel was detached, there are some plastic 'floating' around inside of it you can hear and a nasty scratch on the front. Not overly impressed, but I guess this is where the 'used' comes from :(. Overall 👎

  • Received mine today. Screen looks fine with no scratches. Back casing has quite a few, looks like damaged in transport. but if it works that's fine by me.

The issue I have the power cable is not correct or does it come with a power adapter? I only have power cable which doesn't match with the monitor. If it does come with the power adapter then I have it missing in it.

Can anyone confirm please if it's just the wrong cable or I am missing the power adapter?

    • that is wrong power cable

but if you can find it in your home, there might be some spare PC or monitor power cables which would work.

also can buy these from pc or office stores

      https://www.amazon.com.au/Computer-Appliance-Flexible-Extens…

      • Aah so it's just wrong power cable and not a missing power adapter.

        • did you get other cables or just that cable?

          • @pinkybrain: Got dp cable and the above cable. I have to look into my cable stash if I have a spare. Else will have to buy one.

        • That power cable is pretty common, pcs, monitors, rice cooker, slow cookers, kettles etc etc… Chances are you will have one laying somewhere.

The one that gave you is for laptop chargers.

If not, give them a call and see if they can send you one.

          • @annarchon: Didn't find a spare. Had to remove existing monitor from arm as I have the cable tied with the arm.

Overall it is working fine. Happy with the purchase. Packaging was bit concerning and it took a beating in transport. Box was broken from one side as well bit other than scratches on the stand and behind the monitor screen is fine. And it is working which is a relief.

  • ACT got in contact and are resolving, kudos to them, good service.

  • Just received my second refurb, purchased after getting one the previous fortnight.

Packaging was just okay, same' as last time, lots of bubble padding and of course the bezels were unclipped as many here have complained: Snapped back on no issues, but I did hear plastic bits rattling around inside while I was setting up the stand. Luckily zero scratches on the panel.

Plugged in and running over DP, but the front buttons aren't working (not locked, I checked the manual) so I can't power off the device or access the OSD to adjust HDMI/DP version or tinker with settings such as pixel orbiting like I can on the other monitor, as those settings are sadly not listed in the SmartControl software provided by Philips…

Unsure what to do, sent an email to ACT. I'm sure they would have checked the power and OSD buttons worked before sending it so this was likely something that happened during the lost post, box was kinda beat up. Hoping it's an easy fix…

    • Someone mentioned that there is a driver for this monitor that allows you to access the settings via the pc.

      • Yes just go to phillips website support page for this monitor youll find it

        • Have the software already but you can't change the DP/HDMI versions in that app, which is required to get 4K 60hz

Also aside from being unresponsive, the touch buttons seem to press themselves randomly, so the OSD pops up every so often.

I contacted them for a refund.

          • @monky: Have received a refund as a result of this issue, great and fast service overall; just sucks this panel is essentially dead because of this awful touch controller.

I have the technical skill to replace it, but I can't find the part online so I might have to contact Philips directly.

  • Got mine about a week ago, have loved the upgrade from a 24", mine came with a DP cable, I love the solid stand. I did notice that the plastic edging on the bottom was apart like someone had pulled the screen part and forgot to push it back together on the bottom to clip it flush again.

The one thing that this may help someone is i plugged in a USB cable (USB A to B) to get the USB hub working and it didn't work on a Windows 11 machine but it did on a Windows 10 machine.
After a bit of mucking around i did the following to get it to work
    1> Disabled USB selective suspend
2> Unchecked Allow this computer to turn off this device to save power on all USB controllers that needed doing when i plugged the screen to the PC (3 in my case 1 was hidden)

here is the tutorial i used https://windowsreport.com/windows-11-not-recognizing-usb/

  • My experience good and bad. Ordered 2 of these monitors. They are big units. Arrived well-packaged. Unfortunately one monitor did not power-up. Contacted the seller and they immediately sent a replacement monitor FOC. Unfortunately, that replacement monitor has persistent connectivity issues with the DP port. Then after a couple of days, the original (good) monitor also developed those DP port issues - wouldn't connect to my hub, wrong (lesser) resolution. In the end, not reliable and very frustrating to use. Again, spoke with the vendor, and they have kindly offered a full refund. So, no monitors, but no financial loss either - and a bit of an adventure along the way!

    • you forget. time is money so there is some loss here. but again, we all need an adventure in life as you said

    • Did you try connecting directly to the PC instead of via a hub?
